Golly, that is awful. Don't worry, there are a lot of really kind Dr's. I am sure she knows her mistake by now. I believe they are all good at the American Hospital. Good Luck. I went there years ago and the gynae was awful. I got up and walked out. She may not be there still as this was 2008 I use Dr Andrea on Al Wasl

My friend was here a few weeks ago and wanted to do fillers in her face, as it's much less expensive here than at home. I searched on this forum and she found a dematologist who was recommended on here. The day after the fillers she did look like she was slightly swollen and had some bad bruising, she said she could feel the fillers, it was her first time having fillers so she wasn't sure if this was normal, I have no clue about it so we google'd it, got conflicting info, but we concluded it was probably normal. . Other than the bruising and redness, I couldn't see the lumps she was feeling, but I did feel them. They were very hard. Of course, she is now back home and a month later she still has a hard lump on either side of her nose down to her upper lip, where the filler was injected, she said she can feel it but it's not visibile unless she stretches her face. One small lump is visible and she feels it could be moving. She also said that on one side of her nose, she feels the lump runs horizontal rather than vertically from her nose to mouth. She said the area is still red and she has to cover it with concealer. Does anyone know if this is how fillers are, is it normal, can you feel the fillers until they wear away (Dr. told her the effect of the fillers could last up to a year). Is she worrying about nothing ? It's not like she can go back to the Dr. she did call to speak to the Dr. but was unable to and the 'assistant' said it would slowly improve. I feel so bad for her, she is just recently divorced and this was a little perk up and she can't afford to see a private dermatologist back home. She is really worrying about this. I am hoping it is normal, but it sounds to me like it went wrong, I don't want to tell her that without knowing for sure. If it is NOT normal, will it just wear away over time ? or should she really see someone back home now. Any insight greatfully appreciated please. Had my fillers 1 year ago and lines still not back. I had one small bruise which faded and he never told me to massage area?

Thanks We went to Phuket and it didn't rain once. Cyprus is boiling and sticky in July! I think you just have to take a chance In Thailand

I had my hair coloured this week and rather than having the usual foils to highlight my hair the lady plastered on a load of the dye/bleach which has now given me rather than my usual highlights a nice yellow colour. I went back and after nearly burning my scalp they have managed to tone them slightly but rather than looking anything resembling a normal colour I cannot bear to look at it any more. If anyone can recommend where I can get this fixed please let me know. I need someone who is used to blonde and european hair. PS I have tried the purple shampoo but this is still not toning it down. Any help would be appreciated thanks Try head and shoulders shampoo. Put it on dry hair and just keep rinsing and repeating I have blond hair, call Donna at Roots ( British) 055-4091400 It seems as if they have gone overboard with the bleach!!!! which you probably do not need I have had so many disasters in the past The purple shampoo will not work

Never make failure an option.... Nice little story, but it's not always that easy. Sometimes a marriage falling apart isn't a "failure" but necessary for survival. Could not agree more. Sometimes you just have to face that it will not work

We have a major crack in the car's windscreen due some debris or a rock or something that flew up while my husband was driving on SZR. Does anyone know where I can get a reasonably priced replacement windscreen? (It's for a Skoda if that matters.) The repair garage our insurance recommends quoted an exorbitant price saying it had to be imported from Germany. I'm thinking there's got to be a cheaper option... Drive round Al Quoz back of Times Square lots of garages there that will be so cheaper!

I was looking at villas yesterday and could not believe the prices Certain areas are almost 50% more than they were last year! It is crazy!!!! I know! I watched the prices increase just over the past 4 months. What seemed like a good accomodation allowance provided by my husbands company all of a sudden seemed inadequate when it actually came around to renting a villa...... I am not complaining but there was an obvious and sudden increase in rent prices that's for sure What goes up must come down! These prices are similar to the costs before the real estate crash!

Hi Ladies, I'll be at KL airport for 3 hours next week. Does anyone know if it's possible to buy DF when in transit here, and if so, what is the selection like? If not, I need to make my purchases at DXB, which isn't really much of a saving unfortunately. Thanks I remember it being quite big ( Not as big as terminal 3 though) and my friend bought a handbag which was much cheaper than Dubai DF I know that with Alcohol you could only buy 1L of spirits. What do you want to buy KL itself is cheaper than Dubai as I did a lot of shopping there!

That's really slack that his employer hasn't provided you with insurance. Is that the norm here these days? It is, not all companies give family medical and in Dubai medical is not law ( As of yet)

You might try Careem car service. Rumor has it they have car seats for the littles. We're likely to give it a try at the end of the month when we go home. I was told they have :-)

It is terrible and tragic, and all car seats should be fitted with devices that ping when the engine is turned off. I cannot say that it would never happen to me, it seems almost unbelievable. IF it had happened to me, then I think I would have noticed my 3 yr old missing with a few mins, as I never ever left him alone, he needed constant supervision. If he was out of sight, then there was a problem! Saying all that, once in Australia we were in my parents back yard and said 3 yr old son disappeared and we were searching all over and checking the gates were shut and that he could not have got out and down to the river.....well suddenly my Dad looked up at his truck.....and BINGO.....DS had gone inside and shut the door. He was playing, but it could have been a disaster. After that, the car doors were locked. My Dad left me outside a shop in my pram when I was a baby and did not realize until he got home with the shopping minus me! When I was 5 I managed to break out of our back garden and get halfway down the road to my Grandparents house. Apparently no-one stopped me and this was in the 1970's. Mistakes can happen. R.I.P Little one My dad lost me in Harrods once for over an hour when I was maybe 3yrs old. The shop assistants looked after me and gave me perfume testers and chocolates and he has never lived it down! Thank God I was somewhere safe like Harrods haha! I was forgotten on a deserted beach in Doha when I was 4 yrs old, fortunately they realized when my mother noticed that her lap was empty (yes, those were the days). I was still laying in my rubber ring asleep when they picked me up. I was looked after by the shop keeper. My Dad was mortifed!

We are not looking for a live-in but someone who can come every day for cleaning, cooking, helping with the new baby etc. Also, does anyone know of a Sri Lankan maid? You will need to either sponsor a live out maid or use an agency I do not have any recommendations though sorry

I'm going to agree with TDB here, I too find the Palm overrated and outrageously priced for what you get. For what you'd pay for an apartment on the Palm you can get a villa elsewhere in Dubai in a much more established and green area, or a much bigger (more bedrooms) apartment in JLT or the Marina of the same build quality. Unless you're loaded and can afford a villa on the fronds with a private beach, those are nice... ;) Have a friend who lives on the frond Daughter and her friend in the sea a few weeks back Got out of the water and their legs were covered in cement!

Does he mean registering the contract with Ejari, which costs around 190 - 200.? I think so, he was showing her something in Arabic and she does not understand it Is this down to the tenant or the LL to pay for this? Thank you I think it's down to the tenant to pay this, but I could be wrong. Also it's easy to do yourself once you have the documents. Thanks I will ask her to get clarification I thought it was down to LL Could well be, but at least if you do it yourself you'll pay the correct fee. Not what the LL asks for! True I think he is being a dobber as he cant raise the rent or chuck her out They all seem to be up to it now

My employer let me signed the unlimited employment contract and the next day they told me to signed again a limited contract but I told them I will not do it, I don't understand why they change it, there is no proper explanation from them what they told me is they are not allowed to issue unlimited contract but when I called MOL they said that it is under employer's discretion to choice. Please give me advise do I need to sign it or not? I would never sign an limited contract and they are not that common anymore A limited contracted gives you less options than an unlimited one If you were to leave within 2 years then you get an work ban and have to pay back 45 days salary It is up to the employer what sort of contract they give you and neither is law ( If that makes sense) I would only ever sign an unlimited one

i would wait until ramadan starts, all the new car dealers will give you special offers. i have been here long long time, driven all over in auh and dxb etc etc, up and down the wacky races loads..... driven 4x4 and cars, i would suggest that you get a car that has good acceleration, this is needed when driving on the motorways to get you out of situations, which happen all the time, 4x4 are very slow to pick up and also they are more dangerous in a swerving situation, more likely to roll over, buy a car that has a good boot on it if you are buying a car, dont buy something that is usually a rental car, ie you will be intimidated on the road, i have driven a mustang up and down the roads here in auh and i never get flashed to move over, i now drive a dodge charger sport which has the capacity for me to get out of situations safely, if you are spending 120 you will get something good, we have had many different cars, when the kids were babies we had an seat alhamra and it was brillant as it was a sporty engine, and many a time you would get the white landcruisers/patrols trying to race you at the lights, well even if i was driving normally i would always be quicker because 4x4 are slow etc. I have had a golf for many years and touch wood have never had an accidents It has airbags all over the car. Is robust and very nippy for speeding up I have seen many cars including 4X4's in accidents here, infact a saw a smashed up Hummer on SZR last Saturday.

Am in urgent need of a new wardrobe since maternity clothes are now too big and my old clubby dresses are no longer appropriate! So DSS it is! Will it be the usual marked up then marked down mathematical head scratcher? Or will they wheel out the usual old stock from 3 years ago and mark it "sale". Am I best off ordering from US / UK sales and having stuff shop and shipped here... My credit card is burning a hole in my pocket!! Any advice oh shoppers? I tend find the stuff In the sales here is rubbish, marked up before then marked down as sale!!! as you said old stock etc. I order online and use S&S from UK

No offence to anyone on here but IMO the Palm is massively overrated. Most of it resembles a building site, the roads are all bumpy due to the trunk shifting, the beaches are horrible with sludgy sand and stagnant water, and you can't really walk anywhere - there are no shops or facilities either. There was supposed to be the Trump Tower and a huge mall but this was scrapped. There is one expensive supermarket that delivers and there are rumours of a Waitrose opening in the Fairmont but I'm not sure how true this is. Some of the buildings are nice, such as Tiara and Oceana, but others have been beset with problems. Shoreline facilities access was curtailed to tenants whose LL's hadn't paid service charge, despite the tenants paying rent. And the Marina Residences pools were also drained due to non payment of service charges. Bear in mind these places charge top dollar rent which elsewhere would get you a lot more bang for your buck - you are purely paying for an address. I also find it super annoying that coming off the Palm you can't reach Marina easily at all. You have to get onto Sufouh road and then wait ages at a U turn to come back the other way. The only one apartments which seem relatively good value are the Golden Mile which are very big and done to a nice standard. I think the 2 beds are around 130k. Frankly I'd rather live in a villa for that price or a community with more facilities. I had a friend who lived on Shoreline and the walls were so thin! We could hear her neighbor on the phone next door through the wall ( And she wasn't shouting)

I'm almost positive Qatar doesn't celebrate that as a public holiday :( It is a religious one so I am surprised Perhaps someone can shed some light on as to why they don't
