Is this right? Well I know its not, but any advice please. Constantly hearing about scams so being very cautious here. Personally speaking I would only ever write a cheque out to the LL How do the property company pay the LL if the cheque is written out to them? Do they have POA from the LL and have you seen it?

Just to keep you all updated. The notice served to me was short of 365 days, hence the '12 months notice' which was served to me is actually deemed invalid. I have now left the rental cheque with the Rental Dispute Centre, assuming auto-renewal ......Let's watch this space. I will keep you posted on the outcome, but so far its looking good on my side. Why would it be invalid? Did they give you the reason at the rent committee? It seems that they didn't give the OP the required 12 month notice and gave it outside that time frame rendering it invalid When I went to the RC last month I was advised that a registered email/letter wasn't valid It had to be given by the land department and stamped with the reason on.

I know the agent is pushing me out to increase the rent but i want to know if anyone knows what happens if you refuse to move out after your tenancy contract expires. He has provided me a registered mail notice(not a notarised notice) ..... (a few days after my contract began) to say i should vacate as the landlord is moving in and/or selling property. providing 2 reasons not one. It has to be done by the courts. That is the only and legal way The reason it has to be done this way is because of any issues that may arise and it goes to rent court Rent increases have to be done 90 days before the renewal is done. If they haven't tough Write the checks out as you did last year and deposit them at the land department. Tell the agent you have taken advice from the rent committee and this is the law.

Good morning ,,, has anyone used Dr.Tahir for under eye fillers ? I did a search in here and saw great feedback on him but that was for cosmetic surgery. Thank you I went to DR Allen last week and we had a chat about under eye fillers. I thought I needed them but he said I don't and if he did them the result would make them look worse. Bear in mind fillers will fill the area so it will puff out and the dark circles are a result of thinning skin and many fillers are thick so they would be noticeable ( if that makes sense) also depending on the area it could make you look worse. Go and have a chat with DR Allen at Elite in Dubai Healthcare City as he is very good and won't do work just for the sake of it. I do know someone that had them done with another recommended surgeon. He didn't really want to do them but she insisted and the dreaded side effect happened ( They can be lumpy) and she had to have them dissolved. He did my Botox and I had Juvyderm around my nose and mouth I am having RF therapy on my under eyes Will start at the end of June) as the effect looks very good. He showed me before and after pictures

Hi all! I just wondered if anyone has had any experience with finding part time office/admin work over here, or got any job agency recommendations please? I am currently here being sponsored on my husbands visa and am keen to find something for 2/3 days a week but not sure if that's possible for me here? Many thanks! Caroline They do exist but are very far and few between I have maybe worked on two in nine years. Most companies want full time staff and they can employ certain nationals full time for the price of a Western national part timer. Now is also not the best time of year to be looking as many companies are slowing down due Ramadan and the Summer holidays approaching. You may get some short term temporary work however temps are not paid very well at all ( Usually AED30-40) per hour. I believe the schools do part time roles however everyone wants them so hundreds will apply There also is a jobs board on here to look at Good Luck!

For those ladies who might be interested, I went down to the Immigration Dept this am and spoke with two different people. Each told me the same thing. (thankfully). Both said it was best to cancel before he leaves. However, if his visa expires while he is out, he will be able to come in through his passport on a visit visa. Son is so relieved and looking forward to joining his school friends for a tour around Europe no matter what happens. . I came straight through last year with no problems, hence my post. I suppose it depends who is on the desk at the time

My daughter and I are uk passport holders. My husband has a new job and we are travelling to the uk before his company starts our sponsorship. That means that we will be a few days over our 30 day visitor visa when we leave Abu Dhabi for the uk. Does anyone know what the fines are if any or where to find out. I thought there used to be a grace period of 10 days if you overstayed? I have just seen an old post on here and it does say you get up to 40 days if you are from one of the countries that gets a visit visa on arrival Just to be safe call immigration as it was a very old post

I believe you only got 40 days and could renew if you were travelling to Hatta to do a visa run The rules changed for visit visas earlier this year however I am not aware of whether this includes the above ( Call Immigration) With regards to overstay it used to be AED200 for the first day then AED100 per day for every consecutive day

We are not able to find a ground floor apartment with 2 parkings? Do those exist? My husband, who is currently in Dubai, is looking in the Springs? I liked the greens and I don't know much about the Springs. I only saw shortly a house in Springs 10 and I didnt like it at all.. Ground floor ones don't come up that often and are very popular. one and two beds only come with one space whereas some not all three beds have two spaces. It depends on whether the LL has purchased two spaces Most people buy an RTA card and park the second car on the street. As the street is now paid parking it is always empty whereas when free to park all of the people that work in Tecom and Emaar Business park parked there

My son's current visa will be expiring while he is away on vacation. He will be changing his residence visa when he gets back, and he does possess a passport which entitles him to a tourist visa when he comes in. Question: Do you think there will be any issues for him to return with the expired visa -- and enter with the same passport? FYI, he just found out that he will not be able to cancel before he leaves as signatory company sponsor is away on medical issues and is already gone. What do you think ladies? He wont have any problems he will just enter on a visit visa

Hello I have lived in the Greens/Views for 3 years In my last apartment I had a ground floor apartment with a very large terrace which at first seemed like a great idea but in reality I rarely utilized it and being on the ground floor the amount of cigarette ends/rubbish and even a half eaten burger that was launched off higher balconies put me off for life. If you don't mind that happening then go for it. They aren't the easiest to find as they are in demand but they do come up every now and then. They are also usually more expensive than their smaller balcony couterparts on higher floors. You may also find some ground floor apartments that face the street/community not pool that have the regular size balcony but you will have to ask the real estate agents as they don't advertise which floor the apartments are on propertyfinder.ae and justrentals.com are a good place to start Sarahlou - you must complain about having things thrown off balconies in your building - Emaar is very strict about that -. In one building someone had a fire from a cigarette being thrown from a flat above. I don't live there anymore. I complained to no avail for over a year. No-one would admit to it and without proof how could Emaar do anything? Every neighbor said it wasn't them so Emaar couldn't do a thing. Thankfully I no longer live in that apartment and my new one doesn't have any rubbish thrown onto it

I can tell you what I'm absolutely bored with - bored of getting angry with level of service deliveries - this is across all types of nationalities, background, education level, job ranks. Not being biased anywhere. Sometimes feel that there are groups of people who earn their salaries in Dubai but treat it as a holiday somehow. Would not expect certain type of service level if they were back in their own home country. So exhausting. Sigh...Go on, I'm sure you have your stories. Misery loves company. Haha... It is frustrating and the standard of driving is making me crazy at the moment. SZR seems to be so bad during rush hour. We have managed to go back to the old days where there are accidents daily!

Has anyone come across this issue before? All devices are connecting to the Internet but not actually working. Mobile data works just fine, so this looks like a broadband issue. Have rebooted both routers, but it has made no difference. It used to happen to me a lot in my old place. I used to switch everything off for 10 minutes and then power it back on. Failing that you will have to bite the bullet and attempt to call DU!

Are children not allowed to have bank accounts in the UAE? Fourteen years ago, HSBC here encouraged us to have our kids open their own account. They even had a little party twice a year to do this. The account is in my daughter's name c/o my name. Now they are telling me it's not allowed. This is such a shame as I had a savings account as a child and remember going to the bank with my little book which they would write long-hand all my deposits and withdrawals. It made saving and spending money very real. Does anyone know of a bank here that will allow a child to open an account? My understanding is that they can have an account but Dad will have to open it on their behalf The Central bank ruling was that women even if they were the sponsor of the children cannot open it on their behalf

although there are tons of brunches , hotels to visit etc etc .. i am feeling a but jaded of dubai ..i feel that unless you are here on a western package , surviving day to day is getting more and more expensive and running a business is costing more and more !!! food is expensive and eating out is also expensive !! thinking of returning to the usa may be alternative ..anyone else feels the same or is it just jaded me!! I usually get this way as the Summer approaches, hence the need to escape the heat. Once I have spent 2 weeks in the UK I am itching to come back to Dubai. I always have a good time there but only because I have plenty of money to spend and I am off work. Each time I go home the place looks grimmer and grimmer. I am much better off here and do more outdoor stuff than I ever did at home ( Due to cost and weather) I think a lot of people feel this way as the Summer arrives All the British people I know hate the UK. I think it's really sad. I come from a lovely small British city. The last time I went home all the little boutique shops had gone and Pound Land are in their place. We now have three. I went to the horse racing and saw three fights, also went to a little wine bar which I frequented in my twenties and there was a fight there. All the women seem to be pushing a pram with a cigarette hanging out of their mouth. My friends are all working but after paying their bills and petrol they have no expendable income at all. Perhaps it is just what I see but I find it expensive at home and unless I can find a job that doesn't tax me 40% then I cannot afford it. My council tax alone is 1200GBP I sat down with my friend and looked at how much she pays out in mortgage, bills etc ( this was before food/petrol/clothes/holidays) and they pay more than I do here Dubai is the best place for me however who knows that may change

Hi I went this morning and he wouldn't do them. He said if he did because of where my cheek muscles are and the fact I have only one herniated fat pocket ( didn't really understand till he drew them for me) then he said it will Puff the under eye area out which is what a filler does and they will look worse. I'm going to have a course of radio frequency which is cheaper and he showed me the before and after pictures of that and the results are very good. I like that he is honest and won't do procedures for the sake of it. I had some Botox as I hadn't had it done for over a year and some juvyderm beside my nose and my skin looks better already. I didn't like the idea it could go lumpy under the eye and he said it tends to go that way after 4-5 days. Hope this helps Thanks sarahlou123! It's comforting to know that he is honest and not pushing something that might have a bad outcome. I will make an appointment with him soon. I don't have any fat pockets, just hollows so it might be suitable for me. Will check out the radio frequency too. Have a great day:) My fat pockets aren't visible at all they aren't someone you can see on the surface if that makes sense. Dark shadows are the skin thinning and the droopy hollow part is the herniation of the fat pockets Mine look very hollow but he said they aren't ( If that makes sense) what I didn't know was that if you fill the hollow it can actually make the area puff out and look swollen as fillers plump up the area He will be able to explain it better

Thank you all for your informative responses. I would like to teach English as a second language, and I will be TEFL certified, since I am American. If you have any other information for me, based on that, I would love to hear it. Thanks again! TEFL teachers aren't paid well here at all My friend did the role here for a while and was only earning 7000 a month. Thankfully she was married so didn't need a good salary. 7000 isn't a lot to live on as the rent for a decent studio is around 3-4000 a month. Then you have utilities travel food etc which would eat up most of your salary

What is the best way to find a live in maid? Is it customary to interview several? Do you background check them? Are there agencies? These wanted ads just seem so crazy to me! lol. I asked a friend if people really did have maids there and she said YES and that I would be crazy not to! Word of mouth mainly. You can ask if they have a reference from a previous employer but I'm not sure if you can do background checks.

My friend took her nanny of 8 years to the UK on holiday. The nanny got on a train to go to the shops and was never seen again. Well, not quite, they have station CCTV footage which showed her meeting a man and getting into his car. Clearly pre-arranged. I think that it's very common for that to happen: one friend of mine went to Sweden with her maid and the maid disappeared within 24 hours. Another friend took her maid to Paris for the summer and the maid 'fell in with a bad crowd' whilst they were there and would meet with gentlemen in hotel rooms for an hour at a time... The worst though was another friend who moved back to the UK and was able to take her maid with her permanently: the maid hung around for about a year before disappearing with much of the contents of the house, and was wanted by both immigration and the police. Apparently she is now back in dubai  ETA I think the cost is entirely justified, and am kind of surprised it's that low... Around 1.80 per day
