Has anyone used this website to order perfume? Is it real or fake perfume? I was about to place an order but stopped at the check out page where it said that orders cannot be returned under any circumstances even though it says on their FAQ page that there is a 30 day return policy. Any experience with this website would be hugely appreciated! I bought twice the packaging nd all was alright but the perfumes were not that long lasting Were they fakes?

Hi I am hoping someone might be able to help/provide advice/recommend a good lawyer if need be. We are new to Dubai and have an apartment in The Views. Under pressure from the agent we signed the tenancy contract and paid our rent cheque without first checking independently that the community charge was up to date and taking on trust the agents assurances that the landlord was up to date with this. It has now been established the landlord has not paid the service charge and Emaar are now refusing us access to the property (our flat included). Can anyone please answer the following: 1) Are Emaar allowed to do this? it's one thing to limit access to amenities but they have effectively made us homeless 2) What options to we have to gain access to the property if the landlord wont pay? 3) Can we cancel the contract and get our rent back if the landlord doesnt pay? He is in breech after all of our contract as he is meant to pay the service charge. 4) Can we pay the service charge and recover this from the landlord? Is there a legal avenue for us to do this or would we just have to cross our fingers and hope? 5) Is there any action we can take against our agents? I'm sorry if this has been covered else where - I've read posts about being denied entry to the pool etc but this is more basic than that. It seems mad that we have paid our rent and yet are homeless. Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance. Hello I have read other threads on this and I don't think they got anywhere with Emaar Go and speak to the rent committee. They will probably advise you that you will have to open a case against your LL and pay 5% of your annual rent to do this. You will then be assigned a day to take him/her to court. Did they let you move in before obtaining the move in/move out form from Emaar as i understood security/Emaar would request this before you moved in? Good luck and let us know how you get on .

Who will sponsor your children? ( Usually the Men do but he cannot as you aren't married) You need permission from one of the Fathers or it is not going to happen I personally would never risk living with my partner and my children without being married here as it can cause a whole world of serious problems. You need to sort the one Father permission issue out and then get married After that it will be easy If you are married or single with no kids obtaining a visa is simple Good Luck edited by sarahlou123 on 31/03/2015

Books and food! The last time I flew out of home I got charged for 1500 AED (around that much) for excess baggage. Flew by Emirates. I thought they weren't that strict. I was so wrong. =/ You may get away with over by 1kg that's about it

As long as they can cut European hair, I don't care what their nationality is. (although I do understand that some nationalities hair is harder to cut than others). My colleague knows of a British mobile lady who covers Mirdif. I am just waiting for her details then will post

Ok ladies, I need your help - I am missing one thing and one thing only since coming to Dubai from Saudi - Kingsmill, the lovely soft gorgeous bread that I cannot find anywhere, the best bread for a crisp sarnie..... anyone know where I can get some from  The only place that used to sell it was Lulus in Barsha in the freezer bit. I highly doubt you will get it fresh here

A saveloy with peas pudding, stuffing and dipped  Do you also head straight to Greggs when you come out of the terminal at Newcastle Airport GeordieExpat?? Haha!! Its the law! To be honest we very rarely go home. Probably why I'm craving one right now Well after recent events with the husband's mother we both don't want to go back this year either so we aren't! Can seriously do without that rubbish! So I'm in the same boat as you with the Greggs... it will just have to wait...:( I can bring you one back when I go in June. It may be a bit squished tho haha

I sneak the whole of Primark back into my suitcase! Oh and Maysan curry powder... that stuff is amazing! Razor Blades as they are soo much more expensive here! Apart from the curry powder your contents could be the same of mine. Add half of Superdrug too especially the big bottles of Batiste dry shampoo. Ha well I recommend you try the curry powder its amazing! You can put it in all sorts, risottos not just curries etc! ;) Yeah I generally just stock up on beauty things as my moisturiser is 20pound more here than the UK! I miss Boots, Superdrug and Primark soooo much I will have to try the powder when I am next home

Ours uses the family kitchen. She is a full-time, live-in maid who is treated as one of the family (with guidelines and bounderies of course) and eats the same food that we do. Pretty much every live in maid I know[b'> only[/b'> has their private room and bathroom (like the rest of the family memebers) which is their personal space. I think it's a little much for the maid to be demanding a seperate kitchen when none of the other family members have one. Makes me wonder what will she be asking for next?! Where did the OP say the maid wants her own private cooking facilities?

Avoid in the veining if you can, or another option would be to park at Marina Mall and take the RTA boat across to Promenade, or just walk across the bridge. Sooo much nicer! has the tram caused all the carnage as it never used to be like this

I have just asked my Mum to order it for delivery to SnS and I will pay her!!! How desperate am I? I am going to be the mother of the bride soon and I can't find anything I like here, without paying 1000's and then knowing I won't wear it again!! You aren't. I rarely buy anything from here now. I was in Debenhams on Friday as they have a sale on and can honestly say it was pure tat. I had never seen any of the items online or in the UK shops. Most of the clothes looked like they were from 20 years ago!

I have now tried with a Barclaycard issued in the UK and my UAE visa card, both have billing addresses in Dubai. Just tried the UK visa with delivery to my Shop n' Ship address in the UK and that has also failed!! Perhaps it's because your billing address is in Dubai Was about to say the same as GE I don't think you can use a UK visa card with a UAE billing address Try your UAE visa with your UAE billing address with SnS

Is permanent hair reduction treatment just for ladies? You mean Laser Hair Removal? If so, alot of men do it. The lady who does mine often tells me some funny stories of the men she has on her chair! They get their full back and chest done - honestly I am wincing at the thought of the pain! I know quite a few guys who have had their back done OUCH I cant even imagine especially as I think my pain is quite brutal haha! But I have to take my hat off to them, I always moan about the stuff us women have to go through but I love the fact that they look after themselves too  I prefer rough and ready. None of this mani/pedi facial stuff for men  Hairy backs a no no haha

Hi Artemis2, I mentioned a fitness club on here last week that do a few ladies classes and they are located in Al Barsha so not far from motor city as they are straight off Hessa. Im not sure if the timings suit you for the classes though. I was also going to put a post on here as they have asked me what times do they think would be best for mums and babies classes but I have no kids so said to them I would ask on here. Any advice on fitness class timings for mothers out there that have babies? I think FF in Barsha is also ladies only

Hi there, Is it possible to do Oman Visa runs when your Visa has been cancelled? My Visa has been cancelled while it was processing (I never had an actual Resident Visa) and I now have the cancellation stamp in my passport. I went to Oman about 3 weeks ago and everything was ok, they took some time stamping my passport for the Oman entry Visa but I couldn't understand what/ if they were discussing about it. I have just heard this week that a law came out this year that you can't do Visa runs if your Visa has been cancelled but can't seem to figure out if it is just a rumour or not. As I already went to Oman with my cancellation stamp in the passport once I am hoping I could do it again, but just wanted to make sure I won't have problems. Has anyone here been in a similar position and has any advice? Fyi, I have a european passport. Thank you in advance!! :) Yes you can

The new landlord has to issue you a new eviction letter unless he has a Power of Attorney for the previous eviction letter. This is not likely if he hasn't mentioned it. The POA has to be attested by the courts and can only be for the property you are in. The eviction notice should be notarised and delivered to you by courier/registered post. Please call 800 4488 for clarification though, this is the rental dispute centre number. edited by Ladybirdsarethebest on 29/03/2015 Mine was notarized etc and they have an Aramex desk at the municiplity who arrange the delivery. They don't call to ask when is suitable to bring the letter to you they just knock at your door and if you aren't there they tape it to the door. I came home to find it and was alarmed as all my personal information was there for the world to see plus it says eviction notice on the top of the letter . No envelope etc. When I called the number they said that this is policy and how they do it :-( it was stamped by the courts etc

TIA Residents still get discounts upon producing their EID card 185 for adults instead of 250 I believe their is one voucher in the kids entertainer book only edited by sarahlou123 on 29/03/2015

This is not meant a negative comment I'm genuinely interested to know... Are there grown up ladies here who are attending the 1D concert? I thought they were of a tween sensation. I know a few people who are taking 4 and 5 year olds to the concert... the mind boggles! Well at least mine does anyway... Why does your mind boggle Genie? I have taken my children that age (and younger) to concerts. It's something we really enjoy doing as a family, my children always have a great time (we would leave if they didn't) and it increases their appreciation of music to see it live. I only take them to age appropriate concerts and for festivals we all go together during the day, then we take them home and put them to bed and head back once they are asleep. For a concert like 1D it will be a late night for them but it's a special treat, not something we do all the time. And they will still be in bed a lot earlier than the numerous children wandering around the mall with their parents until closing. Some of my best memories are of Mum and Dad taking us to concerts As a result of this we all grew up with a huge appreciation of different types of music. I love seeing kids at concerts. At Redfest we had a group of teenagers dancing and chatting to us over 40's. It was a great day and made me feel alot younger :)

Does anyone know how long it takes from the day an employer applies for a work visa until they approve it? Around 5-7 working days for labour approval It can be longer depending upon the company
