I do love a good pound shop and primark though! :cool: Not 3 though. They closed Marks and Sparks mens and homeware ( moved it out to the industrial estate) to make way for another pound shop. :-(

I can not believe there are still studies carried out like this... is it just me or is it a load of garbage?! My friend uses their bus every time she travels and she seems very satisfied. I was told that etihad plane seats are more spacious than emirates. Same size as the Emirates A380 32-33 depending on where you sit in Economy Flown with them twice and they are as good as Emirates :-)

I don't like that it is unallocated seating - seems a tad unfair John Bishop was a nightmare. People saving seats for 10 plus people who weren't even in the arena Don't get me started on that. We nearly caused a punch up because of people trying to save seats! We ended up sitting down and getting dirty looks all throughout. Saving it for 2 or 3 I get but 10 whom we were told were on their way from the Marina!

They're made by Hairdreams and are fixed by using tapes. I was extremely pleased with them as they thickened up my fine hair and I loved the style until the hiccup. There's plenty on the internet about them. Slam in Al Quoz do the tape ones and I believe ( you will have to call) Roots in Barsha do too I had extensions for years but now it is long I rely heavily on pieces and clip ins :-) Good Luck Sorry to Hijack the thread, but SL, where do you get your clip-ins from? Thanks very much. I bought them from the UK as they were really cheap. I believe some of the salons here sell them ( Salon Ink, Pastels on Al Wasl) I also bought a pony tail, a clip in piece and a bun. I like to play around with styles and these are great. There is a lady here that does the halo which is easy to use and adds length and volume to hair. She is on FB and it is called divine distributors. My friend has bother her lower and upper lids done in Belgium. They look amazing. I had fillers but they only seemed to puff out the area not remove all the lines or dark patches, mine weren't too bad though. I will go down the surgery option in 10 years or so :-) Oh really? I know the results vary. For now concealer is doing the trick, it's just that I "need" it every day. I've lost some weight recently, and my circles are really prominent. :( Truthfully I am very hesitant to do anything. I am in bad need of getting my nose fixed (deviated septum) and I am worried it will change it. It's not perfect, but I don't want a different one! OP btw, I wasn't saying fillers or cosmetic surgery is "the" answer, but dark circles are really hard to get rid of. If they are due to some of the reasons I mentioned in my other post, you'll definitely see improvement if your environment or lifestyle sees a change. Report back if you have luck with the grapeseed oil! I've never seen a huge benefit from skin care but I'm happy to be corrected! They are and what you said is correct. The CS told me that no potions/creams will get rid of them. Thankfully mine aren't too bad and he did say it is too soon to do anything with them which was refreshing as many will just take your money

Dark circles can become prominent as we age. Skin tone and genetics play a role as well. As some of the elastin and hyaluronic acid breaks down in the skin, and less collagen is produced (after age 28) the skin around the tear troughs also thins out. For the most part, there are no topical agents that can help this, nor so called lightening creams because the skin is becoming more transparent--not becoming darker. As far as procedures, fillers do wonders, and if you check out before and after photos on realself.com, it is almost enough to make me consider it. (Having issues myself lately). Factors such as not drinking enough water, smoking, lack of sleep, vitamin B deficiencies, and alcohol consumption also exacerbate dark circle prominence. When removing eye makeup, also take care to choose a removing agent that requires less rubbing. I usually go for the waterproof removers for this reason. AC123 your input is interesting and much appreciated. We received a letter, I think by registered post, but not notarised. I think I really have to do my homework on this subject before moving forward. I've seen advice given on this website before but some of it conflicting. I need to view and interpret the laws myself. Is the best source of this information dubailand.gov.ae? Geordie Expat I'm with you on this one. Surely the laws are in place to protect tenants from the whims of greedy landlords? I have looked after this property out of respect for the owner, I've paid my rent on time and towed the line. But rents start to climb and the eviction notice is delivered. Is that ethical? I did read that a letter by registered post was as good as a notarized one from the land department ( I received the latter)

Regardless of whether or not it is ethical to stay in a property after a one eviction notice is served, the law does allow people to go to the Rent Committee and it was set up for those reasons The law was put in place to allow people to sort this out therefore the powers that be must of thought it was a good enough reason. When you have LL withholding large deposits from tenants, refusing to pay for large scale maintenance, telling fibs and bullying to get people out I for one am glad there are laws and a rent committee in place to protect both parties

Please be aware though that I have heard of cases where some people have won and other people have lost their case I don't think it is that clear cut even though it does state in the real estate laws that a LL can only kick you out for one of the four reasons and not re-rent for 2 years

So we're being evicted in a couple of months after 3 years in same villa, Landlord wants the villa back for personal use. We were given 12 months notice as required. While DH and I have accepted this we also suspect that the landlord wants the villa back so he can rent out at a higher rate (our rent is low in comparison to others in our area). We'll most likely downsize but still be paying more than our current rent and we'll incur the associated costs with moving. This is starting to bug me as the eviction dates approaches. I'm torn between doing nothing as the guy has every right to evict us if he wants it for personal use, and taking precautions in case I want to make a complaint later. I don't want to be kicking myself if I find out he's re-rented and there's nothing I can do about it. I believe the rental contract must be registered with Ejari if a complaint is to be made, correct? We haven't done this but I will do if it can still be done this late into the contract. Any other advice will be much appreciated. TIA I think you can do this at anytime. Mine was done mid contract. In order to open a case with the Rent Committee you have to have an Ejari

It must depend on who you associate with back home. None of my friends are doom and gloom. You cant blame a country for your lack of success in life, its up to the individual to make the best of what they have. My friends in the UK aren't "doom and gloom" either. Several lived here for many years, moved back and are very happy there.

Help ladies Been thru previous threads and saw holly for color and Meghan for a cut recommended numerous times. Called essentials today to book and they told me Meghan no longer works there. The lady on the phone said Victoria is very good for a cut and color too, have booked with her but would like to know if any of you has used her? I'm going for a hair cut for now. If not Victoria then who else is good in the salon for a hair cut? Thank you P.s any idea where Meghan is? GE uses Holly there. I have heard she is good. Cant help with Meghan sorry

This is the only post I could find. It was back from 2012 so may not be up to date Have you tried calling the vets here as they may know Well the short answer is yes you can but there is alot of paperwork needed, vet checks and you have to pay some money to get clearance etc etc. its alot of hassle for one day. I looked into bringing my doggie for a camping wkend and it was too much hassle. I heard some ppl risked it and just brought the dog anyway, leaving UAE is grand but getting back is the problem as oman dont have a rabies check. So the dogs werent allowed to enter back in again until more paperwork and checks had been done. If you search the forum for dogs and oman , i know one person explained it all. Hope that helps!

Does anyone know the procedure for renting out your own property - i.e. where do you get the blank forms from, what do you do with them after you have completed the info, signed and tenant has signed -etc etc?? Any advice would be much appreciated... Can't help with the forms but usually you keep a signed copy and the tenant gets a copy You have to be registered with Ejari Deposit and cheques are handed over then you give the tenant the keys It is pretty straight forward

Hi Ladies, Anyone seen Quorn mince anywhere recently please? I've seen all the other bits, but I'm after the mince to cook with. Haven't seen it in Choithram's which is usually great, nor spinneys, C4, any suggestions as to who has stock currently please? I was in Waitrose on Al Thanya a few weeks ago and they had an enormous range of Quorn products They even had some I hadn't seen before. I used to buy the mince at Choitrhams Greens but haven't bought it in a while so haven't looked for it Thank you, but of absolutely no use! Sorry, I should of said the mince was in Al Thanya Waitrose If you call Choitrhams at the Greens the Manager usually answers the phone and he will tell you if they also have the mince.
