Hi Ladies, Anyone seen Quorn mince anywhere recently please? I've seen all the other bits, but I'm after the mince to cook with. Haven't seen it in Choithram's which is usually great, nor spinneys, C4, any suggestions as to who has stock currently please? I was in Waitrose on Al Thanya a few weeks ago and they had an enormous range of Quorn products They even had some I hadn't seen before. I used to buy the mince at Choitrhams Greens but haven't bought it in a while so haven't looked for it Thank you, but of absolutely no use! Sorry, I should of said the mince was in Al Thanya Waitrose If you call Choitrhams at the Greens the Manager usually answers the phone and he will tell you if they also have the mince. They are pretty good when you call them :-) edited by sarahlou123 on 18/03/2015

Is anyone know, where to find beauty blender in dubai ? :) Really in need of that .. Thanks in advance :) I looked everywhere for one of these as they are all the rage now. We tried all the makeup stores, Debenhams, Sephora etc and they were either sold out or didn't have them If you do find any can you let me know. I imagine I will have to resort to online or buying one when i next go home you can get beauty blender @Backstage for about 135 AED for the single or 170 AED for the double. Also @The Dollhouse you can get it. AND @Pro Makeup Boutique... i jus got this msg from another friend on internet .. i m nt sure.. u can check it Thanks will get one from home as visiting in the next few months and they are only the equivalent of 70AED too overpriced here :-)

There is a reason behind that. It is something to do with their language but I cannot remember the explanation . I think its funny when they call me sir. I look at my chest and say "really" they usually crack up laughing and apologise It's because in Tagalog language their is no male and female differentiation, so they often say "he" when referring to a female when speaking in English Thank you. I couldn't remember :-)

Can anyone give me an idea of an entry level salary for Emirates (flying) staff please. Doesn't need to be super accurate, just ball park. Thanks. I can only answer the salary question based on the information on Emirate's website, they also pay for your accommodation and it's tax free Your pay is made up of three components: a fixed basic salary, an hourly pay for operated flights and an overseas allowance. Pay Scale for Grade II (entry level): Basic monthly salary, tax free in the UAE - AED4,020 (1 US$=approx AED 3.673). Flying pay on an hourly basis - AED55 paid between chocks off and chocks on. Flying pay is paid in the month following accrual. Meal allowances are paid in the currency of the country in which a night stop is made. The company provides free transport to and from the airport and hotel accommodation

Sir Ma'am as in "Can I help you Sir Ma'am???" Unless as a woman, have the beard and sideburns of a sixties Woodstock hippy, how can you possibly mix women and men up? They must just be taking the P@@S! And no, I don't accept that it is due to English as a second language...so no one even suggest it!!! :) Am even getting riled as I type this... edited by rubyslippers on 17/03/2015 There is a reason behind that. Hello, I'm planning a Visa Run this Friday with my husband. I've searched back and found this link to details on how to get there and go through the Mezeyad Border - http://www.expatwoman.com/forum/topic136977-which-border-for-visa-run.aspx. We are renting a car and opted for Oman insurance, so this should be easy and straightforward, right? I'm nervous for some reason... Any advice or if anyone has done recent runs, would be much appreciated. Thanks, RCG No reason to be nervous, it is a very easy process and the people at the border are so nice I don't know that route as most people I know come from Dubai and do the hatta road straight through edited by sarahlou123 on 17/03/2015

This fitness warehouse is for the hardcore among us – head there any time of day and you’ll find someone to chat to about the latest and greatest fitness techniques. Chatting on the phone to them can be a bewildering experience, but the pay-per-exercise system is unbeatable. Dhs30 per visit (04 338 3389). I don't know how up to date this is

If a maid is called a helper, does that mean that the Madame does most of the work and the maid just helps her? In that case, why hire a maid at all? A madam has all sorts of connotations. edited by Lolacat on 17/03/2015 which is one of the reason i do not like being called Madam....... Just makes me think Cynthia Payne Same here. Hi, I am moving back to Dubai later this year. I have just been refereed to a specialist at home for two dental implants - but the specialist says that he doesn't want to rush the procedure and it would take around 5 months to complete!! Anyway, I have seen a few recommendations for dentists on here, but I also wanted to check - does anyone know if they will put you to sleep for the procedure? I am a wimp when it comes to this stuff but as its my front teeth I don't have any option! Thanks in advance They don't normally put you to sleep for this procedure. Just a local and believe me you wont feel a thing except your chin and cheeks will feel strange a bit rubbery but in a nice way :-)

I did the Clean 9 and went drop a size 22 to 18 in the 9 days. I lost 10cm from my stomach and a total of 66.5kg I have a total of 30 kg to loose. The Clean 9 was easy to do and follow. I had lots of energy while doing it and never felt hungry. It did teach me that I don't eat enough food during the day. It has got rid of my diet soda and coffee addiction. I did it two moths ago and it's really put me on track to eating and excising properly as it got me into a really good routine and I've consistently lost 1kg a week since doing it. You can eat from a list of free foods during the first two days and on days 3-8 you eat a 600 calorie meal on day 9 you can have 900 calories split between lunch and dinner. 2 of the shakes contain all the recommended vitamins and minerals recommend for an average person, there are no chemicals in it so can be drunk by children unlike other brands who have similar products. Aloe Vera has over 70 nutrients and minerals including amino amino acids. I know a few people who have been recommended that they drink Forever Aloe Vera by their doctors to help with a wide range of diseases or sicknesses that they suffer from at home. I never had diarrhea while doing the clean 9. I still drink the aloe every day before breakfast and my hair has stopped falling out. I have tried everything out there from low calorie deliveries, good habits, weight watchers, DUKAN, Juicing, Atkins, cutting out carbs halfing my portions you name it I've tried. I would recommend the clean 9 to anyone who's looking to kick start a healthier lifestyle or who wants to loose those few extra pounds that they can't shift. You lost 66kg in 9 days? That is 10 stone. Did I read that right? :)

Hi guys, I've been accepted within a school and their accommodation is in one of the areas above, does anyone live around here? Am I right assuming it's a bit middle of nowhere but I can get to shops/city fairly easily if I need to? Would it be necessary for me to get a car, I was hoping to not and rely on public transport/taxis? Thank you in advance, sorry for all the questions!! I lived in Mirdiff back in 2008 and liked it. Plenty of shops and a shopping centre in the middle Taxis were plentiful back then but I cannot comment on buses however imagine there will be a route. It is also close to Festival Cityand Mirdif City Centre ( Both huge malls ) Facebook will have a Mirdiff group page so perhaps join that

Exactly what Polly said Once said employee has served notice they give passport in, it is cancelled then all end of service benefits are paid and employee will sign to say they have received correct amount The MOL take this seriously. A friend recently had problems with her ex company She went to the MOL who asked if there were any disputes over leaving ( there weren't) Did she give 30 days notice ( yes) They pulled her MD in and he had to sort it there and then If they are messing her around tell her to go to the relevant authorities who can help

Ok so this is no doubt a stupid question, but what would happen if I brought a few packs of the knorr stock pots in with me when I come over in April? Would I need to declare them as food stuff at customs and if so would they be confiscated? They are sooo much better than the stock cubes! I bought Oxos at Xmas in my suitcase It was scanned and got through okay. I didn't declare them either

I've heard that the really good stuff (master and 1:1 qualities copies) are not available at the market. It is possible to view them at some apartments near by. But to get an access there, it is necessary to know these people directly. Apparently even if your friends gives you the number of Mr X and you call, they will not reply as your number is not on their phone book... edited by marykar on 12/03/2015 Not true

I know that all the best stuff is behind the curtains now and it is necessary to know somebody who knows Mr X... Who is Mr X ? The best stuff isn't always hidden away, it is only certain designers that aren't happy with fakes Others don't seem to be bothered as they are on display all over the shops

No shampoo, that is. LOL I've come across several articles like this http://thehairpin.com/2014/01/three-years-without-shampoo and I'm really curious if it actually works and what are the positive and negative effects, specially for those living in Dubai and considering the water here. It seems to be a cheaper alternative to shampoo, so anything that works and can save me some money would be right up my alley. Anyone? I wash my hair twice a week, have a filter on the shower, use decent shampoos and in between washes use dry shampoo. I don't have a lot of hair fall and my hair is in good condition

Far too young and to be honest, go look at how school busses are driven..... wouldn't put one of my cats on them. Yikes. I thought the 'outstanding' schools would have an equally as 'outstanding' bus service. Never mind. It's the speed they drive that scares me, never mind the swerving and non indication when changing lanes.
