Thank you I see DR Andrea on Al Wasl road or any of the ladies at Healthbay Polyclinic There is a European lady dermatologist who gets mentioned here a lot but I cannot remember her name. if you put Dermotologist in the search bar above you will find her. I think she is from Belgium

I checked EW and few friends and Dragon Mart was named as the most affordable place for curtains. Few friends said it would be around 500-700 Dhs per window on average. Today I visited the place and checked what they have and after calculations it turned out to be 1200 Dhs per window (this is roughly total amount divided by number of windows - this is for a 3-bed apt and also includes cotton black-out, chiffon and installation). So my question to those who ordered their curtains in Dragon Mart: is this price reasonable? Or my friends' estimates were wrong or outdated? And how much did you pay for your curtains (including installation and everything)? TIA It is very cheap. I bought blackouts from Ikea recently which were made and they cost be AED500 for one pair and they didn't hang them for me

...but more importantly...why are you FB friends with your maid?! Lol! Nope - I'm not FB friends with her but I very occasionally check on her public profile.. and this was uploaded while I was on holiday.. I am actually FB friends with my ex maid but I must say that I don't like it when she posts pictures of the children that she is looking after.. I won't want my children's pictures on anyone's FB page.. It is illegal to do that here. She should know better than to do that

I am not posting this to create hype . I am trying to help out fellow RW fans. !! Go to www.robbiewilliams.com. Then halfway down the page it says this The destination ticketing page for the pre-sales and general sales is here. Read more at http://www.robbiewilliams.com/news-blogs/let-me-entertain-you-tour-buying-tickets#YET5xTS0jw8zhMuL.99---- click on the red "here" - follow the links and click on the highlighted pre sales red button for abu dhabi- take it from there! hurry up! So it is pre sales and not on ticket master as per your first post? :-)

I didn't stop using them as they were unsafe, I stopped using them as they are unreliable! BTW edited by pollydxb1 on 05/11/2014 I think I am just lucky based on where I live as they are everywhere and even when out walking they are beeping to see if I need a cab. Even at the change over I manage to get one

Hi Ladies, Any of you purchased iTunes gift card here and redeemed at European store? I have Apple account in Europe and apparently card you can buy here can only be used with account from UAE... I don't think you can. UAE purchased cards will only work with UAE accounts UK purchased cards with UK store. Can you not change your account to a UAE one redeem it then change it back. I have an account with both the UK and the UAE I tunes. It should say on the back of the card https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2283823 edited by sarahlou123 on 05/11/2014

Cabs are safe to use. As a single woman I don't need to use any expensive private taxi service. With regards to plumbers and maintenance guys, ask your security guy. They should have a company they work with. Dubai is a safe, civilized city. You will come across people who don't do their job, but nobody is going to do anything crazy to you and service has nothing to do with your gender. There are loads of grocery shops in Marina that deliver, you can take the number of the one that is closest to you. I have only ever used Careem on New Year Eve. Other than that for 8 years have used Dubai taxi. Apart from a few drivers I had to report they have been all been very nice and polite

Taxis are easier to flag down on the street and they are in abundance except between 4pm-5.30pm when the drivers do a shift changeover. If you want to call them and register your address with the RTA for cabs it is 04/2080808 however it is easier to flag one down. Careem do a private service but they are more expensive. You can sign up on their website https://www.careem.com/dubai/ignition For maintenance I use either Musthavemaintenance.com who are British owned. They charge AED200 for call out and the 1st hour. Al Maya in the Marina delivers as do trolley.ae but they are more expensive than some of the bigger supermarkets such as Geant and Carrefour. Waitrose is in the Marina Mall You will have to Google Al Maya Marina as I don't know the phone numbers. Musthavemaintenace can help with assembling furniture/maintenance etc edited by sarahlou123 on 04/11/2014

After waiting (not too patiently!) for our internet installation, I can use my iPad and my husband's laptop, but my iBook just won't connect to wifi. It has the capability, as I've taken it to PC shops and it works there. ( I can get it to a certain point, but then it says it won't 'Authenticate'. I can't find anyone to come to do a home-visit to sort it out who speaks English and unfortunately my Arabic is at the very early stages! Can anyone help or recommend someone please? Could it be a problem with your router? How old is your router. Older ones I believe can cause this problem.

Rockport do heels and they are sooo comfy I am not good in high heels at all and find the Scholl products ( Gel heel guards etc) don't work at all. As one poster stated try and find a pair that have a slight platform at the ball of the foot then they wont hurt as much. I will be honest and say New Look heels are very comfy and they have wider fitting pairs too. I have managed to wear them for hours without being in pain

Anyone seen OXO cubes? Over the weekend I went to the following supermarkets to try and find Bisto in the red tub Al Maya Choitrhams ( 2 branches) Park and Shop ( 2 branches) C4 Geant Lulu They are nowhere to be found and I also checked in the non muslim sections Oxos were nowhere to be seen either, except the veggie ones in the green box I did ask all the staff/managers only to be met with a blank stare Perhaps there is an ingredient in them that stops them from now being sold here I stocked up on Oxo cubes from home and will do the same with Bisto at Xmas They sell Bisto in Spinnys! I buy it. They have the red tub and also a tub that is red & blue with less salt... None in Mercato and on Umm Al Sheif Spinneys None on shelves at all :-(

Hi All, I have recently come to Dubai and wanting to lose weight really quickly, I'm from the UK. I am 5ft and weigh 10 stones. I had a baby boy 5 months ago via c section. I really do want to get that beach body real quick as I have a family wedding in Summer in the UK next year. I do eat healthily, I have cereal in the morning, then afternoon just water then I head off to the gym 3/4 times a week purely doing cardio for a total of 30/60 mins. Not sure whether I will lose this quickly as I said before I've had a baby. Could really do with some advice urgently. Thanks for reading and also look forward to your comments. :-) edited by Nemesia31 on 30/10/2014 Starving your body will not help at all. You need to eat 5 small meals a day and continue with cardio/weights at the gym. I put on around a stone in weight which I couldn't shift :-( I used the new Atkins as I do like meat and managed to shift a stone in 3 weeks. It is the new version not the old one. Foods rich in protein and low carbs will help but bear in mind the first few pounds are water only. If you want to track your calories Iphone has My fitness pal which is an excellent way to track your progress. Body for life is another good one to follow. Do not rely on starvation diets as they don't work at all. Good Luck

Unfortunately there psychos all around the world, it's not only maids- employers relationship. [b'>I was just reading a story about a girl who's beaten by her husband everyday [/b'>& the fact that they live in the middle of nowhere is not helping. Why [b'>do[/b'> husbands beat wives??.. I am living, broken proof that it happens here even if you live downtown and are from a "free country"! Thank God I have mustered up the strength to get away, but not all are lucky enough to do so. Because they are bullies and cowards and wouldn't attempt to hit a man.

These past few months I've notice little things disappearing from our apartment. I didn't wanna think that the maid has anything with it,so i just kind of ignored it. I know it's gonna sound funny when I tell you which things are missing (some cups&glasses, some of my nice underwear, set of nice small spoons, some of my babies toys),but I feel really angry and I just can't understand who would steal things as these. I've asked her many times where are these stuff, and all she says is "i don't know". I've searched everywhere and its too much of coincidence that we are missing things since we have a maid. I thought if i asked her,she would know that I'm noticing when things are missing, but I think she is not scared of me because I'm always very kind to her. Should I say that i'm planning to call the police so they can see where could our things be disappearing or?? I really have no clue what to do,but I don't want to ignore it and then next time something more important disappears. Could you set up a sting operation. Plant something and see if the thief takes the bait. At least then you will know for sure

Hi Can anyone recommend the ideal push chair or stroller for a new born that's easy to use in Dubai and also to travel with. I've looked on old threads and they are from a few years ago. Have got my eye on a stokke xplory or bugaboo bee but they are selling at 5000 dhs plus !!! Is this the expected price to pay for a good stroller. Please advice !!! 2 of my friends have the Stokke and seem happy with it

LL should give you a copy of the final DEWA bill. I always ask them for it as I don't want to end up paying a final bill which could be pricey I don't think there is much you can do. When you view a property it is always good to check if anything isn't working or go around and take photos etc of items that aren't working etc and present to the LL. I am lucky that I have a decent LL who pays for most maintenance It is hard to prove that said items were broke as the LL could say they were fine before( I know they weren't) but it would cost you more to open a case against them for costs

Yes you can download onto iPlayer before you leave the UK and then watch it here. You don't need the 'thing that shall be nameless' to watch programme back, or even be online :) How do you manage that then? When I try and watch anything on i player without using one it tells me that the programme is not available in my area. It does with me too, as it knows you aren't in the UK
