I've had none of my certificates attested. I'm on a salary of more than 10k and they weren't even asked for. Only certain firms ask for them. They have to be the originals however I have never been asked by clients for attested documents for spouse sponsorship, only employment visas Good job too, as I haven't a clue if mine are even still in existence anywhere ;) Try and get you O'Level certificates. You have to apply to 3 boards its a nightmare

Make extra veggies, potatoes and gravy as the turkeys are usually huge but the side dishes small this seems to be true with each place. We did a pickup (not delivery) from Jones the Grocer for the holiday, and I was glad I made extra. The sides portions were kinda sad! There were about 10 carrots in ours and there were 5 of us. Thankfully we made extra plus stuffing, **** in blankets and bread sauce. ( I am making myself hungry now)

All rental contracts are for one year and have to be inline with both the rental index and the rent calculator. If in year 2 or 3 they went up or down as per the calculator then that is what you pay I wouldn't sign a 3 years lease as anything can happen and what happens if after year one to decide to move etc

So if it's a blood test how is it localized to the gut? Could be vaginal (thrush), oral, between toes (athletes foot), skin infection, scalp etc This test requires a small blood sample so they can check for any candida yeast infection by measuring antibodies to the candida. IgM antibodies will tell you if you have an infection right now or not. IgG antibodies reflect a past or ongoing infection. IgA will reflect a more superficial infection or an infection that is on the outside surface of the mucosal linings of the body. An IgG candida blood yeast test in conjunction with a stool test called a Candida Intensive Culture. If both are positive you most definitely have candida yeast in your body.

A week too late for us :-(. After an extensive search and maybe 20 phone calls I found a company that installed our cat flap but it took them a good 10 hours (total of 4 visits). For a while it looked really bad but they pulled it off, barely. The cat has, grudgingly, started using the cat flap. She is an odd one, though. I only found out as they came to do some work at my place on Saturday and mentioned it I said I have no use for one as I don't have a cat :-)

Lolacat I agree (load of old tosh)... How can a blood test tell you whether you gave XS fungus in your gut? The whole 'food intolerance testing' thing is a money-making scam which any self-respecting Dr wouldn't use. You can test for Candida with a blood test

Great to hear that sarahlou123. Especially the ice cream shop:))) What about the security? I know that it is not an issue in Dubai but for the potential home of ours we're planning to rent at Greens -low rise ones-, there is no security service, someone who would like to help a stranger may buzz the door from inside and you can get in?! I have never had an issue with security and have never found strange people wandering around the building. Our security guard is nearly always on the desk and makes people sign in Crime does exist here but I have never been a victim ( In 8 years, 3 years at the Greens) we do have security cameras in the downstairs lift area and in the corridoors.

In any other country this could not happen, but the authority in control here just couldn't give a flying flop!! We have not slept properly for 3 months now, this moring at 5:30 we thought a helicopter was landing on our balcony the noise was so loud and the apt was vibrating! I have emailed them and got a standard response that they are copying and pasting on their twitter account. Today though my blood was boiling as i ran through the junction by JBR and the Marina Wharf apts. School kids were navigating diggers and trucks without any crossing or control. I commented to the foreman as i ran through that it was disgraceful there are endangering the lives of school kids, let alone me, to which he replied 'No problem, what to do, its the RTA!' The total disregard for the residents is bewildering and only made worse that the press here are too spineless to report the reality. Wow rant over! I honestly feel for you. The traffic didn't move for half an hour and everyone was just beeping their horns. it would drive me mad

it's my hubby (and my) birthday this coming weekend and we'd like to take our family and friends for a fun brunch with beach/pool access... not looking to pay more than 300dhs per head (inclusive of house beverages) so if any of you lovely ladies know of any particularly good deals around please do recommend... we also have the EK face card if that helps with discounts! :) would also like recommendations for any happening night clubs that just the adults can go to celebrate later that night... thanks! :) Happening clubs erm. Ndulge gets all the Saffron crowd from the Palm and isn't very nice at all! ( Full of drunks) Society at Byblos exactly the same The problem you have here is the brunch crowd flock to the clubs so in my opinion avoid like the plague as they are full of very drunk ex pats. There is a need here for a decent club that caters to different types of music tastes Media One do a pool brunch as does XL at the Habtoor Media One I think is 299 not sure about XL edited by sarahlou123 on 14/09/2014

Thanks for your replies! Well I ended up buying the Bellybandit at the weekend & I really hope it fits afterwards! The lady in the shop convinced me the medium would be too big after a few days and I needed small - I have just under 5 weeks until due date & am not that big so I really do hope it fits! I think the Spanx could be a great idea too - I saw Spanx Leggings in Debenhams at the weekend and think they could be really nice on - however I saw a good few reviews on them that said after two or three wears the seams in the crotch area splits - doesn't sound great as they are nearly 400AED to buy - if anyone has bought them let us know how you found them! The crotch on mine has never split or gone ( I have several pairs which are over a year old) . They are the best out of all the shape wear and I have tried many :-)

My friend is planning on wearing a long lycra dress and wants to wear a corset underneath to pull everything in :) Which do you recommend and where can she buy this from. The corset should be very thin and not too bulk so as not to show underneath the dress. Try Spanx they are fab to pull everything in and even everything out

Everything is on your doorstep Restaurants Supermarket Tips and Toes Hair salon Ice cream shop ;-) It is nicely finished, the traffic isn't bad so in and out is easy In cooler weather you can walk to Tecom as many hotels there The Onyx is being built and should be finished by end of 2015. There will be a hotel and restaurants there. It is dog friendly, pools are lovely

Hi ladies, Can anyone recommend a company who will provide a babysitter / cleaner for 2 hours per day, Sunday to Thursday? I have spoken to a number of agencies and they all want a minimum of 4 hours to book. I'd prefer not to hire a live-in at this stage as it's really out of our budget. Any recommendations? TIA! Have a look on Dubbizle. I did see a maids service that do it by the hour http://dubai.dubizzle.com/community/services/nannies/2014/9/9/cleaning-maids-on-call-2/ I don't know them though, it was on our community FB page

Had our afternoon tea at the O & O and for 99 aed each it was great value. Plenty of sandwiches and rolls with various fillings, two scones each with jam and cream, two pastries each and a jar of sweet treats. A choice of various teas and coffees, refilled as many times as you wanted. Lovely staff, a birthday cake and a red rose for me! We all enjoyed it and came out absolutely full!! edited by amelia on 10/09/2014 Yes I loved it too, and the price is great for such a beautiful hotel. I went for my OH birthday. He was 39 at the time and they came out with a cake saying happy 60th. They were mortified and said we thought he looked well for his age haha

Hi I am looking for someone who can come to my house twice a week (starting Saturday evening) to blow dry my hair. It will have to be less than 50AED as this is the going rate at the salons. If you know someone who does at home pedicures that would be great too. I think Chez Toi has shut down. Please let me know if such a saviour exists! (From a ridiculously dry and frizzy hair expatwoman!) :) Please tell me which salon charges AED50 for a blowdry?. In 8 years I have never paid that cheaply even when I had very short hair. Dear Members, I reside in JVC and have unfortunately been provided zero notice from my daily (live out) maid. I work full time in Abu Dhabi and have cats that require looking after so I'm in a bit of a fix at the moment. Are there any ladies residing in JVC who have a maid that is looking for additional work? I need someone who can clean daily for a couple of hours (Sunday to Thursday), feed the cats and clean their litter trays and water the garden. I'm also looking for someone who can wash my car and someone to do a small amount of garden tidying once a week. In a few weeks I also need someone who can feed my cats whilst I'm away for a few days. All of these tasks were covered by my previous maid. The cleaning is the first priority so any assistance with just this would be much appreciated. Thank you very much for your help. You cant use someone elses maid here. I know people do it but her sponsor will be fined and she will be deported. I wouldn't ever go down this route as you would get into trouble for hiring her. They are doing so many checks now and in my building alone 2 illegal maids were taken out by the authorities. Agency is your best route :-)
