I have searched the site looking for recommendations and the main one I kept seeing was Salon Ink. I Reached out to them but they didn't seem welcoming or willing to answer my questions. As a woman with long hair that gets two processes done I want to make sure I get someone who knows what they are doing. Does anyone know someone good with blonde highlights, and all over root coloring in a darker color(low lights)? Scared of getting my hair fried and having to chop it. I am blond and only trust 3 hairdressers here as in the past have had disasters!! Donna at Roots Barsha British lady Ali at Slam Irish Girl Kelly at Salon Ink Aussie

I agree with Billie. It depends where you go and how much. Many of my friends have them done with Dr Imran Tahir and they don't resemble Leslie Ash or Lauren Googer from Towie LOL

If your husband has been offered anything upwards of GBP [b'>40,000[/b'> a year he will be considered in a high earning bracket. It is possible to live comfortably on that but of course it does largely depend on the lifestyle you want to lead. Depending on where you shop a basket of good in a supermarket isn't too dissimilar to here, but a night out with alcohol is likely to be considerably cheaper. Transport and utilities are very expensive including the cost of petrol and car insurance. But like the others have said, a good standard of education for your children will be free. Ideally your household income will be over 50k to be able to enjoy more treats such as holidays etc but remember the average salary in UK is only GBP26,500. Hence in many cases both parents in a family go to work. Has it gone down ? Higher tax bracket used to be 50 k. http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/banking/tax-rates#rate I think this is up to date on taxes. I sure don't miss paying them

You only get free health care if you've been paying tax and National Insurance but at least the schools are free..Hampshire is lovely, we're next door to it, but property is expensive..rent or buy you won't get much change from 700 or 800 a month for a modest family home. Utility bills, tax, community charge and insurance on top. Plus if you run a car you pay road fax and fuel is 3 times the price of Dubai. I've also found grocery shopping quite expensive here this summer ...many items are cheaper in Dubai !! (And you have to pack your own bags !! Lol ). And pump your own petrol LOL Oh yes..the horror !! I forgot to mention the cost of dental care and prescriptions..loads of things that are available over the counter in Dubai aren't here. I did a big shop with my Sis at Tescos and was shocked how expensive it had become Her council tax and Sky bill are very high

Hi, I am expecting a baby and would like to know which is the best and safest hospital in Dubai to deliver my baby. I made some research but would really value feedbacks from mothers out here based in their experience. Thanks and Eid Mubarak to everyone! I don't have kids but most of my friends have delivered at the City Hospital

I am dreading when I have to move. 10k more a year to move across the street to the older and smaller part of my area :-( I would imagine that you're probably already aware of this, but I have found out that if the LL doesn't sell by the time your notice is up, then it's cancelled and you can stay. Also you have first chance of dealing with the new LL if it sells. You never know this info may help Thanks, most viewers haven't showed or have told me when they viewed that they aren't interested as it is street facing! The one next door has been empty for 6 months and they want 1.5 mil LOL

Besides dubizzle which seems to charge for listing, where can i advertise our apartment for rent? We are relocating and have only one month to rent it out! Thank you! Which area do you live in. Does FB have a community group for your area? perhaps that will work I do see apartments and villas for rent in Spinneys/Choitrhams on the notice boards

Thanks Sarahlou....do they do your face and do you shower after or sleep in it ? Hiya You can opt out of your face it is up to you You don't shower for 12 hours and when you get up don't be alarmed that you may look like Madge from Benidorm. I would put dark sheets on your bed otherwise It will ruin light coloured bedding. In the shower it will seem that alot comes of but it doesn't and moisturize after showering.

Gelish/Shellac/biosculpture will protect your nails? Yes and no. Whilst it's a great covering and lasts ages - I now use Biosculpture as it's even more hard waring - the fact that the technicians files down the tops of your nails and nail bed - as the covering can be quite thick - will obviously weaken them. I can only use these products for a couple of months at a time, before I have to give my nails a break. And my nails are hard as anything and virtually grow over night. I have Gellish and they don't file down the tops of my nails? My nails are strong, perhaps it is a genetic thing

Sorry to hijack your thread: We have been issued a notarised eviction but it has 2 reasons on it - selling or personal use. Is this correct to place down two? No viewings of apartment as yet for selling and LL owns own apartment in tower which family have recently been using. Also, when we renewed at start of May we were verbally told of eviction after declining massive rent increase and stuck to the Rera calculator. Finally, after we kept asking we were given formal eviction notice but didn't receive it until mid July which is over 2 months into our renewed contract. How does that affect our end of contract for 1st May 2015? Will also be discussing with Rera but your input would be valuable. I'm also interested in how you find out if an apartment has been re-let and not stuck to the eviction notice? Thanks edited by BBmover on 06/08/2014 The notice is one year from when it is dated on the notary public so it doesn't matter if it isn't given at the start of a tenancy contract. Most LL will do it so you get 1 year from start of contract if that makes sense. So if it was given July 2014 then you have 12 months It is really hard to prove if they have moved in or rented it out again I imagine it takes some detective work and trips to the rent committee. I believe that if they claim they want it for personal use then they have to prove that they don't have alternative accommodation. I don't think the municipality check and if you knew for definite they had re-rented it then you would have to open a case and hope you win A friend of mine went through a similar thing, they moved out and then found out it was being advertised for rent via rental agencies. They didn't bother filing a case as they just wanted out Thanks for the reply. I am still curious as to the notice having 2 reasons for eviction. Will have to check about the validity with Rera. It usually has to be one of the four reasons, perhaps he is keeping his options open LOL Go to the RC not RERA as they deal with this

Good morning, I need some tips from the UK ladies. My DH has been offered a permanent job in Hampshire. Can you give me an idea of what should Be a good salary to live well over there. I mean, of course, we all know that it is not Dubai and I am not therefore speaking about making big savings. Just an idea of a good life in such an European country which would anyway give our children a better future than our own country, that is Why we are considering it, for a long term life decision. And we are now temporarily in Dubai anyway. What are the costs of living compared to Dubai, and, in general, as said, what is considered a good salary to survive well! Tia for any information! I would say a minimum of 60-70,000GBP per year I lived alone on 40K paying a small mortgage, running a car, utilities, food, Sky, internet, council tax etc and did okay. ( I didn't have children though) Do you intend to work?

I know of a girl who used to live and work here who skipped with just over 10,000AED worth of debt. She had a stopover here en route to Oz and was stopped and detained at the airport She was detained over night as the banks were closed and the next day struck a deal with the bank to clear what she owed. She never expected to get stopped at she left in 2006

It's a very grey area I would speak to the Rent Committee My LL is legitimately selling as there have been several people viewing and they have it advertised on many sites. The notice for eviction must be served by Notary Public and is normally stuck to your front door minus an envelope. They don't have to give you proof of sale as the property belongs to them and if they are giving you notice the legal way then they have every right to do this.

Hello Everyone! I am really new to this forum so I am not sure if I should be asking it here in this part. Anyhow, I need your help. 2 weeks ago, I noticed that my breast is itchy. I didn't mind it because it could be just due to chicken I ate or what. Then, last week, I noticed that there is already a wound due to my scratching. Now, I am starting to worry because the itchiness is still there due I try my very best not to scratch it. Everyone, can you suggest where should I go? Should I go for a Dermatologist or Gynecologist? If so, can you recomment me a doctor? Answers would be greatly appreciated since I just stayed here in dubai for few months only. Thank you so much! I get dry patches on mine which resemble dermatitis. Usually after I have been in the pool Try not to scratch it and get some 1% hydrocortisone from the chemist. If that doesn't clear it up then speak to a dermatologist

Never pay an agency to find you work, it is illegal and unethical to do this Agencies bill the client when you are hired Most of the ones that charge you are scammers and no decent agency would do this. Stay as far away as possible from these ones as they will not get you work only take your money!

My husband and I are looking to rent a 1 bedroom apartment in marina or jlt from 30 August for 1month but could be up to 3 months. I have looked on dubizzle but mostly are through agents and as I want to pay monthly I would prefer to deal with the landlord direct. If anyone knows of anything or has an apartment they are looking to rent out please let me know. Thanks Try justrentals.ae they sometimes have short term on there I know that JBR has some too, I think they are managed by Salwan perhaps their website can help The Gloria hotel on SZR do monthly serviced apartments and they are close to JLT and the Marina edited by sarahlou123 on 03/08/2014

Hi Speaking from experience Ramadan and the Summer are usually quieter as many people have reduced working hours or take their annual leave Finding work in admin/CS can be problematic as you are going up against candidates who may be cheaper to employ than Western counterparts, speak several languages, have UAE experience etc etc. Clients can afford to take their time and be choosy, there is no rush on recruitment anymore ( Unlike 2007-2008) networking is key here and what Hays said is correct. Getting your foot through the door is the hardest part. I moved here in 2006 and it took me nearly 4 months to find the right role and there are ladies on here who it took much longer. Good Luck

Hi I just moved into the Golden Mile buildings on the Palm and wanted to see if anyone has suggestions about how to change the shower head to a filter system? Its a stand alone shower and we tried buying the blu filter system them sell at mall kiosks but even our building maintenance didnt know how to change it. I cant imagine people are showering and washing their hair with unfiltered water every day. The water here is filled with metals and chlorine which destroys you hair. Does anyone who lives here have any idea where I can buy a filtration system for my shower? The blue filter just screws on where your regular shower head is Does your normal shower head screw off? it is easy to do and I did mine myself

Just had my nose done in June and am exstatic about the results. It was my first rhinoplasty so I looked around and chatted with a bunch of doctors before settling with Dr. Ahmed Abdullah. He went to one of the best schools in the US for medical school, and it really shows. I had broken my nose playing soccer in the US and had quite a hump. My septum was slightly deviated but I didn't have too many breathing problems. He is the nicest guy, very easy going, but very professional. He apparently specializes in revision rhinoplasties (if he could, that would be the only thing he ever does, but since he just started his clinic in Dubai, he doesn't get enough patients to be so picky yet). Before surgery I sat down with his assistant and had my face simulated in 3D so I could see what he thought he could make it look like. I got to give suggestions and he told me what he recommended. I had the operation done at American Academy where I was extremely comfortable, I felt no pain at any moment before or after surgery. My nose healed wonderfully, it looks incredible, and the whole thing was just so easy. You can find info on him at cosmeticsurgeonuae.com or the Eternity Medicine Institute website http://eternitymedicine.com/ I also saw Mr. Khan and based on your experience as well, I think he just wants all the easy surgeries. Dr. Abdullah wants the tough ones! Easy surgeries. He is a burns specialist. I doubt that is easy at all

I normally have this done in London by Dr Milo who is great but I have just moved here and I would appreciate a recommendation by anyone who has had this procedure done locally? [i'>Non-surgical lower eye bag removal One of the most exciting recent advances in aesthetic medicine is the tear trough treatment. By using Restylane Perlane, this procedure can improve tired eyes, baggy eyes and dark circles under the eyes. Top eye surgeons have reported that many of the patients who were previously having surgical excisions for lower eye bags (blepharoplasty), are now getting even better results with the injection of Perlane[/i'>. Dr Jaffa Khan & Dr Al Shunnar seem popular for other procedures but I cant see anything relating to tear troughs? Pop in and see Dr Khan I am sure he does this procedure' He has a FB page so perhaps worth messaging through that

I would not want to live anywhere else... Same here. I have earnt more money here in 8 years than I ever could of in 15 years in the UK Germany as an expat was my favourite place ( Pre Euro) we were spoilt rotten being Wives of UK servicemen and didn't pay tax. ideally you should live in a high rise apartment block in a well developed (but new building)... have a look at some of the apartments in Dubai Marina or JBR... they are likely to be bug free and have relatively good maintenance contracts by no means should you move into a villa... coz then creepy crawlies are guaranteed! I was planning to move into a villa. I would accept at some point that it is in nature and can see some litre spiders but "creepy crawlies"? This is what I'm mostly scared of. What do you do i. e. when you see one? Ant I leave it alone Gecko I pick them up and put them out Roach only ever saw one and it wasn't in my house I live on the ground floor and the only thing I see are birds Ant I'm fine Gecko I can manage Roach can also be seen here in where I live, but if you leave food around. And I'm so careful about cleanness. If you say that you've seen just one, I hope I'll be fine with my living habitudes. What about rats? Please don't mention? Are there? --blood pressure is going down-- I have never seen one and I live near a lake

I would be careful hiring part time maids I live in the Greens and our building was raided a few weeks ago by the municipality, a couple of maids were taken away. Not only will they be deported but their sponsor will incur a 50k fine in the bargain. I would not trust anyone who isn't sponsored by me or an agency. [b'>What if they committed a crime i.e stole from you. You do know that if you went to the police you would be in trouble too [/b'>for hiring them illegally And they know this !! The maximum fine was recently doubled, btw... We were constantly getting notes pushed under our doors and residents were getting fed up of it, they only got in to post them by waiting and following residents in as security turn them away
