So do you think Murray will win? Will Laura Robertson (is that her name) get passed the first round? Isn't she a Kiwi?

Just spoken to a colleague and she says 4 days at that time of year will be good. Plenty of churches to go and see and try and include a Wednesday, as there is a night market, which although only sells Indian handicrafts, is definitely worth it for the experience. In my opinion the Saturday Night Market is much better, also a good place to eat something will roaming around. Having that said, not sure this is going to be the case in the middle of the monsoon. The time of year we are planning to go isn't Monsoon Season

Neutorogena Norwegian Formula concentrated hand cream ( I feel there should be something about fishermen in there for some reason?) really good - I buy the mini tubes in the UK for about £1 and keep one in every handbag. If you really want to push the boat out ( keeping with the fisherman theme) then Skin Doctors Younger Hands cream. Supposed to make hands look younger in 6 weeks - mine look better after just one application ( when I remember to use it - need something that does that same for my memory!) Norwegian fishermen use it. I swear by it and have used it for years

First question would be, what are you looking for? Goa is quite nice, however the water quality has decreased a lot in recent years. So even in the beaches further off, you will find garbage swimming in the ocean or dead fish. It is not as bad as cities like Bombay, but still miles away from the clear Dubai beaches. Don't get me wrong its fun, but I would recommend not more than maybe 4 days. I took my parents to Goa earlier this year and it was just for a quick weekend trip, but we managed to cover most of the essentials. A day more would have been okay, but besides that its a rather boring place. However if you look for a vacation to get wasted, then go for it. It will a short 4 day trip, chilling and sightseeing mainly :-)

most maid companies don't drive to the Villas! i thought perhaps some one knows a nice maid who may want to make some extra cash. she would be living in my house for 16days. thanks Agency or sponsored one Agency route is probably the best as I don't know if it is legal to sponsor a maid for 16 days only Maids who are already employed and have sponsors are not allowed to "moonlight" for extra cash. It is illegal

depends on what ur going there for :) when we were teenagers it was the best place to get doped, chill out and bike ride! now that we're older (a lot older)... we go there for the delicious sea food, relaxed atmosphere and lovely beaches... if you're a history/culture/etc. there are a lot of old churches , relics, sites to explore Thanks We are deciding between there and Sri Lanka

I wish our lifeguards would pay more attention. Down at the pool the other day he was sat on a lounger smoking while reading his ipad! There were several kids in the pool! That's awful, ours are very strict and no-one is allowed to smoke around the pool at all My friends daughter jumped in our pool before showering and he gave her a right dressing down She was mortified

Beginning to wonder what's wrong with me...i'm mostly alone when in the malls or out and about and I have never yet been aware of being stared at or had anyone follow me...But I very rarely look at people around me if i'm shopping or browsing as I have more important things to be thinking about... A couple of times I've looked across at the vehicle next to me when sat at lights and noticed workmen looking but I just look away...no issue... And as far as the OP goes - well, it's all been said already...it's their job to watch the people in the pool. Years ago I used to. I think that was because there weren't that many blondes ( With red faces) around. I remember one guy walking and staring so hard he ended up walking into a pole ha! It still happens on occasion now but I don't really pay attention. I find the UK far worse than than here

Sadly for us I think they're testing our nerve. We've mentioned we know about the rent calculator, rent committee, RERA, etc etc... they don't care and still ignore us. Last year they blatantly said fine, don't have an increase in rent and we'll give you your 12 month notice. So if they say this again ask what their reason is. Ours was going to try that too, but backed down. You've got to stand up to them. edited by Geordie expat on 19/06/2014 They also have to give a reason for 12 months ( This is written in the law) and serve it by Notary public.

I am using Gold's Gym, its like all the other gyms like Fitness first and all but the trainers are amazing!! I paid AED 2500 for a year and got 3 months free plus 4 sessions with the trainer free. And also all the other GX classes. Now after Ramadan I will be joining more sessions with the trainer which is priced at Dhs 1000 for 10 sessions and Dhs 2500 for 20 sessions. And Gold's Gym is also voted the best Gym in UAE Is it associated with the US Golds Gym?

Which insurer? when I first moved here I had to show them my NC from the UK to get a discount but since then I have never been given 5 years purely for being British

Glad to see this is a legit gym with real people (and results). I saw the website and the big banner on the site saying 'DUBAI'S MOST EXPENSIVE PERSONAL TRAINER' and was wondering how anyone would be sucked into that deal? I guess not everyone is on my lowly budget lol I suppose if he gets results and people can afford him. Too pricey for me though ( As I scoff a Bounty) .

I contacted the DFWAC and they told me a social worker will get in touch with me. I can stay in a friend's place but what if he turns up and force us to go back with him? He can be very violent and I don't want my friend to be in trouble. What if the police interferes and ask why I want to be out of the marriage, will they accept the reason that we are not emotionally and physically safe with him? Will they do something to keep him from bothering us although it's more of a family problem? Does he have to know where you are staying?

Latitude and Beachcombers at JBH are good as well as Al Muna. I believe Bubblicious is good but I haven't been there yet. I would steer clear of Saffron .... feeding time at the zoo springs to mind! Agree with regards Saffron My friend took her Parents there and Dad got an eyeful of a girl with no pants on!! He was horrified I find Beachcombers gorgeous but more geared towards children ( Perhaps the time I went) Al Muna isn't party party but still nice Yalumba I imagine is the ultimate party one but not as sleazy as Saffron

My husband thinks I should stop at this and not go to the police. He wants me to stop and think about the driver's family back home who are depending on him! I am speechless. I am without speech. Had I been through the same experience, it would be nigh on impossible from preventing my DH from heading straight down to the police station himself. And I'd have to restrain him from tracking down the cab driver! Your peace of mind and safety should be a top priority. Moreover, you are performing a duty of care to any future passengers of this awful driver by going to the police and reporting him. Put it this way. Perhaps this driver has threatened a woman like you before. But *their* DH thought it best not to rock the boat and just let him get away with it. Next thing? YOU get into the car. Wouldn't your DH be furious that someone else hadn't taken action against this idiot? And keep in mind: violence and threats can escalate. The next passenger may not get away so easily. Please. Do the right thing. Go to the police. Get your husband's support and take him too for back-up. You know you have to. . edited by LadyBee on 19/06/2014 Here here, The next person may not be so lucky and read the front of 7 days if you need anymore proof. Taxi drivers I imagine are not vetted here therefore he may of done this before and no-one has reported him yet. He needs to be taught a lesson that he cannot behave this way.

OR Go to the police station (in Al Barsha, for example) tell them you bumped into a wall in a car park You'll have to pay a 200AED fine, but will get a pink slip with todays date and can then claim against your insurnace!! Will that not affect next years no claims? :-)

I've trained with Ghazi, Saika and Alexandra... all great! 3k a month WOW Thanks for the offer but I have a free gym in my building, I was just wondering what the cost was Thanks :-) Sorry but how anyone afford that? I would be inclined to contact them before you actually start and let them know your situation. I agree honest is the best policy Don't assume the worst and think they may not want you. Some not all employers may decide not to employ you as they may feel that you could be off due to illness/complications etc however not all think this way.

mannnn I miss that place!! they take fitness and exercise and training to a completely different level... I'm one of their 'success stories'... 3 months of 1hr sessions every alternate day transformed me completely... dropped 2 dress sizes, 11kgs, and looked/felt fitter and finer than ever before... was part of a challenge so my training was complimentary and I would have gone there in a heartbeat if they weren't so expensive... unfortunately at the time I wasn't working and forking out close to 3K a month wasn't an option. Now I am working and can actually afford it but my office is in the complete opposite direction and can't squeeze time in with these damn school drop offs, pick ups, bedtimes etc... excuses I know... but someday! strongly recommend it though... they're a no nonsense gym! don't go there expecting your typical fitness first type gym with lots of treadmills, cycles, etc... they have none of those! every session is a personal training session... it can get very expensive if you want to train with the head trainer... but if you're ok with going to some of the more junior staff (who are all excellent as well) then it might work out slightly cheaper! I went there almost two years ago... but I've only JUST increased one dress size and a couple of kilos (simply coz I haven't bothered to exercise after that!! I know I know... I'm horrid)... so they're weight loss is almost permanent!! :) How much were the fees?

. Sometimes they do speed but the minute you ask them to slow down, they do it immediately. In my case , half the time they do not slow down even if I ask nicely. Sometimes they lecture on how they have "control" and sometimes say politely how I can strengthen my faith which will help me in not getting scared as it is all predestined Perhaps I scare them ha

morning ladies, i had 2 accidents (one pink slip, one green slip) - many moons ago. not a lot of damage so i wasnt too concerned about fixing it "immediately". i travel extensively so also not around long enough to sort some things out. i do not have any foreseeable travel for the next 3 months so thought i'd get this done now. i submitted the claims only to be told that the accidents were so long ago i could not claim anymore! completely my fault, not blaming anyone. but where to now? can i still get my car fixed? if so, how and where? i obviously dont mind paying but i havent an inkling as to what the next steps are. has this happened to anyone? any guidance would be highly appreciated. thank you. Try AAA behind Times Sq, they did a few of my bumps They have a website, perhaps call them first and ask

Ladies, if anyone is looking for a fantastic gym in Dubai I totally recommend Symmetry Gym. I have been going for 6 months and whilst it is more expensive that the likes of Fitness First etc the experience and results are second to none. I decided to join as I wanted to look great on my wedding day… 6 months later I was 2 sizes smaller and walked down the aisle last week a leaner, healthier and a 7kgs lighter me! The personalised training programs and nutrition advice at Symmetry is fantastic - I have gone from exercise hater and quitter to fitness lover. Just wanted to share this with you as I am still on cloud nine with my results and how I looked on my BIG DAY!! xx Can I ask what the monthly fees are please

am confused - these holidays are dependent on seeing the moon.... not sure if they can be announced for sure, this far in advance. And as a note - we usually follow what is announced in Saudi with regard to Ramadan. I thought they could predict what date the moon will seen now before said date ( If that makes sense)

I can honestly say in 8 years I have only had a handful of rude, bad ones. Mostly they are polite and I sit and chat to them. The ones that have drove fast i have asked to slow down and they did.
