I've just looked them up, as a short weekend home for a wedding was costing me nearly 7K with all airlines, so I checked the RB, and it is only just over 2,500 - think that is a major consideration! I am flying Qatar this time EK was 3k more!

I can tell you that Dr. rolf soehnchen from the Cooper Dermatology Clinic is the best doctor for Boxtox and filler, also he is a real consultant doctor, German and he knows what is the best for your skin, also in combination with other treatments He can't be much good if he has to rely on spamming women's forums to get custom .... Definitely one way to make people avoid him That's why I asked cost and make ;-)

You have to take your original deposit receipt into a DEWA service centre. Now you've made me think. I haven't a clue where mine is :( I lost mine a few years back and they had it on record Thanks for letting me know. Why am I so disorganised out here. If you mean by a bunch of ex pats getting roaring drunk and behaving like animals by all means go to Saffron. It used to be a lovely brunch but I have witnessed fights there on 3 occasions so will never go again. The Grand Grill is lovely at The Habtoor and they had a DJ but he was outside but with the weather that may of changed. Yalumba is fun and not so rowdy but at other side of town

If I am constantly followed, even after I've said I'm only looking, the next time I'm asked can I help you Maaaaaaaaam I just turn round and say well you could have if you'de left me alone. Then I just walk out the shop. Sometimes I wonder if that's their bit of fun... to see how many customers they can chase out by being "helpful" So they obviously don't need the sales or commission then or too stupid to put 2 and 2 together? I had the guy at River Island ask me to tell them what they could do better I said Ask your staff not to follow people around the shop like a store detective If someone asks for an item, know where it is and if they don't have it find out from another store if they have stock Open another till when 12 people are waiting Don't answer your mobile when you are serving someone He just said yeeeeesssssssssss Maam so I doubt he took it on board

Ladies Mum is over at the moment and I have just had a bub ... I was thinking about taking mum to the Burj Al Arab for afternoon tea, this is her 4th trip over here so have done everything touristy a few times over... IS this lovely and worth it or is it a flag? Can you suggest another tea with a lovely setting ? TIA it is lovely. I did the Sky View bar 3 years ago We were seated next to the window and people kept standing next to us to take photos The staff firmly told them not to do this as they were disturbing us! I believe the One and Only Royal Mirage does one but the view will not be as good as the Burj

He's not into football or swimming, so those camps are out, but any other suggestions would be welcome. Thanks. Does he like skateboarding or BMX's? We got our legal notice due to "Sale" but the new tentants already knocked our door to ask when we will move out. After that we received an email of our landlord to contact him when we are planning to move out moving out as we need to make a hand over to the "buyer". Legally we have to move out in 6 months !!! Were/how can i check if the flat got really sold? I found RERA unfortunatelly unfriendly und not helpful. edited by Gege_DXB on 11/06/2014 Are you still in the property?

Thanks so much ladies for your feedback. My friends agent just took her to view discover gardens..the rent seems to be similar 5/10k difference for a studio and 1 bed to the other areas like remraam, Motor City, Sports City and IMPZ. But she felt that its got so many shops and restaurants, plus metro link, and biggest thing Ibn battuta..So she is considering the area but would love some feedback from someone who lives here at the moment. Sorry ladies, pls would you mind assisting with some advise on Discovery gardens for those who live there? There are some nice and not so nice buildings I believe the traffic is a nightmare still but they do have plans to expand the road at the end of this year. Thank you Sarahlou123 - would you be able to tell me which are the nice bldgs so she can avoid the bad ones please..thank you I have been in some of the coloured ones at the back and they are nice inside

I got quite excited when I saw the title of this post, and now I'm feeling miserable. Came out about 4 weeks ago and I know my hair is going to need doing very soon and was hoping someone would have a hairdresser to recommend. Damn. I did bring a root touch up kit with me from England but it's not the real thing is it. Oh no, my grey temples will be showing in no time. Arrrggghhh. There is a shop called Salon Services in the UK where you can buy the professional hair colours that the salons use. They are a fraction of the cost of going to a hairdresser in the Middle East If you know what your original hairdresser use it is easy to buy them and apply yourself

Thank you everybody for the responses, it makes me feel a bit better. Yes, we did ask the landlord to do the garden and he was completely happy for us to do it. When we arrived it was sand and now it is lovely. Is it up to me to take it up with the Rent Committee or should I just advise him that if he is unable to provide us with a contract sticking to the previous terms we will have no option but to refer to the Rent Committee? Thanks again, I really appreciate the replies! edited by Nik Rowe on 11/06/2014 I went through a similar thing in April I had the law on my side and told the LL that if they wanted to ignore the laws of Dubai then they could take it up with the RC and I would attend on the said date They backed down. It shouldn't be up to you as you are abiding by the law. I would say this to them ( Keep all copies of correspondence) and tell LL if they aren't happy as you are happy to continue on current terms then take it up with the RC They will tell LL that is breaching the law and it probably wont go that far

What about the shop assistants who rearrange everything you've touched half a second after you've touched it! I'm very sorry if my shopping is messing up the pristine display in your empty shop!! The main answer is that he has missed the 90 day rule. To make any changes to your rent or contract he must contact you before the 90 days. If he wants you out, he must notify you, through the legal channels and give you 12 months notice stating one of the four reasons why. I believe that if you lodge a case with RERA and pay the 3.5% and win, he has to pay it back. I would let him do it! most back down

I know there are numerous threads regarding this situation, however I am still trying to confirm if what I believe is correct! Our landlord contacted us 72 days prior to the expiry of our contract to advise that he was increasing the rent to a figure which equated to 28% of the current rental amount. I emailed him back to advise that he was only allowed to increase the rent by 20% as per the RERA rental calculator. He replied saying this was "fine" however he would now only accept 1 cheque (we were currently paying two cheques). After doing my homework, I sent him a copy of Law 33 of 2008, advising that "if either party wishes to amend any of its conditions then he must notify the same to the other party not less than 90 days prior to the expiry date of the contract" (paraphrased from the law). I therefore told him we would be unable to accept any changes to the contract and requested him to send me a new contract reflecting the conditions from the previous year. He has now replied saying that Law 33 of 2008 is only valid if written into the contract (??!) and that I can refer to the clause in the contract regarding "vacation/notices" and that if we don't want to renew he will gives us 60 days free rent after the expiry of the contract. The clause in our contract he is referring to states: "In the event that the Landlord wishes the Tenant to vacate at the end of the tenancy, then he should notify the Tenant in writing 60 days prior to the expiry of the contract". However, note that he only sent the last email regarding this point 53 days prior the expiry of the contract. My questions are: Does the 12 month notice to vacate rule apply even if he has put the clause regarding notifying us to vacate 60 days prior to the expiry of the contract? He hasn't notified us 60 days prior to the expiry of the contract, therefore does this mean he has to give us another contract or can he give us 60 days notice anytime? Does the clause in Law 33 referring to "90 days notice of any changes in conditions" refer to both rental amount and number of cheques? Do I have a case for RERA? If I took the case to RERA and won, does the 3.5% charged to lodge the case get refunded or do I just have to pay that? Any advice would be much appreciated from anybody who has already gone down this road. I am so annoyed, we have been good tenants for 4 years, completely done the backgarden (at our own cost) and looked after the house like our own and now he is trying to do the dodgy! The whole thing is really stressing me out, so I would be grateful for any thoughts..... TIA The law applies and not what is written in your contract I know it is a pain but tell him to take it up with the RC if he isn't happy Say you have spoken with them and they have told you what the law is Most contracts say 60 days, mine does, as they are standard ones No new contracts have come into place since the laws were updated but that isn't your fault He is trying it on. He cannot make any changes unless he gives the required 90 days Plus he has to give you a reason for 12 months eviction AND it has to be notary public LL cannot be above the law and if what he is saying is true then all rental contracts are wrong and what is the law there for?? Stand your ground and good luck! edited by sarahlou123 on 11/06/2014

I agree with many of these, especially shop sales-people looking down at me because i'm casual (why do women go shopping in tiny dresses & huge heels?), and the over-taker who stops at the speed bump (without indicating at any point). But why does everyone hate the word 'kids'?... clearly in modern day English it is not being used to describe goat offspring. It is the sales assistant who say "that wont fit you madam" you need bigger when you go into the changing room!

The last few times I have tried o make bookings with National Taxi at 7pm I have been told that they don's take bookings at 'busy' times and that I had to phone back 40mins before i wanted the taxi to come. I asked whe 'busy' times were and ws told 7am-9am and 4pm-8pm. That's most of the day! When I did order the taxi he turned up in 20mins and the driver got gradually more annoyed as he had to wait 20mins for us to be ready! Has anyone else experianced this? Is this standard procedure for all taxi companies now? Hasn't this always been the case? I was told only 2 of the taxi companies are linked to the phone bookings. .

I do. You should get the bio father to provide a letter of consent. Basically this should state the facts: You are remarried, are moving with the child to Dubai, UAE, his is aware of this and does not object to the child moving to Dubai, UAE and he has no objection to any sponsorship whatsoever of the child for residency purposes in the UAE. Mine was worded similar to the above. The document should be signed, notarized, and legalized up to the UAE embassy in your home country. Separate from that, your child's birth certifciate should be legalized up to the UAE embassy in your home country.
