HI Ladies! I finally found a decent place! I went to a clinic in JLT called La Clinique The doctor is American, his name is Dr. Michael Robertson and I believe the clinic is ran by a French guy. I paid around 500AED for 20 units. He charges per unit instead of per area so it makes it more affordable. Now, I have to say that I definitely noticed better results when I had botox done in the US. But this will do for now. He suggested only using 8 units.... which kind of threw me off so I ended up having to return the following week and having him do 20 units but it all worked out. I told the French guy that I will post the clinic info on here as long as he promises not to increase prices. I saw them on FB as they have an offer on it says forehead and around eyes is 900 though? edited by sarahlou123 on 01/06/2014

The 49 aed is unlimited social data - so cover Facebook, BBM and Whatsapp, never had it run out before. Which handset do you have? I too rarely run out but have done on occasion There is a way to check your data and then you can see if that is the problem I thought there was a limit on the data 1GB etc for AED49 edited by sarahlou123 on 01/06/2014 edited by sarahlou123 on 01/06/2014

where can I buy cushions for outdoor furniture set, for bank and chairs? Like the ones which are normally coming with the rattan sets? In Dragon Mart no chance to get them separate. Thanks. I got mine made in Dragon Mart around 2 months ago I have a 3 seater and 2 chairs. The shop was at the very end of Dragon Mart on the right but I cannot remember the name. They did me 10 in total. 5 seat and 5 backs If you can wait till tomorrow I have the name and number on my fridge. They were so much cheaper than Satwa ( Almost 50% cheaper) great :-) yes, sure can wait until tomorrow. did you let them custom made or they were ready? I just chose one colour ( Burnt orange) and it took them 7 days to make them

My weakness at the moment is clothes. I don't go out enough to justify the amount of clothes that I buy, but for some reason, I find it difficult not to buy. Before I go shopping I tell myself that I don't need any more, but when I see the lovely fabrics it is hard not to buy. I used to be exactly the same. Come Friday morning I was in the mall by 10am spending a lot and hardly ever wore my purchases. I now wait for the sales In the UK and shop and ship them. I am less likely to buy on impulse and I save money .

I came across a comment by a HR person and am wondering whether what she said is the norm for HR here; that CVs of job hunters working the same job for more than 3 years are automatically rejected except for very senior position, that may explain why it can be difficult to get jobs http://gulfnews.com/business/my-career/signs-you-re-in-a-dead-end-job-1.1340889 [i'>"Besides, there’s a danger of staying in the same role for a long time. “I would automatically discount the resume of someone who has been in the same position for more than three years, unless it was an extremely senior position,” said Halabi."[/i'> In my opinion definitely not true. Most international and multinational companies prefer people who have worked with an employer for more than 3 years

They are still playing outside at lunchtime at kings. Wish they didn't but they do. When I was married my Ex was in the military and the med center each day had to put out a thermometer to see how cold/hot the weather was. if it was below/above the recommended temperature they were not allowed to do any fitness tests or runs! That was back in 2000 so maybe it has changed now.

I love it too and cant wait for next weeks episode, the acting is excellent and you get sucked into their lives. The location makes me thankful that I don't live in the UK any more though! Most of Calderdale is picturesque but there are some awful areas I love Siobhan Finneran ( Is that spelt right) she is such a talented actress and love her in Benidorm Have you watched "Last Tango in Halifax" I wish they did more than 2 series as it was fab

thanks for your reply. We would like a villa. I will go and look up the areas that you have mentioned. Do you pay your rent on a weekly or monthly basis? Monthly and averages 1,2 or 4 cheques. you rarely if ever get 12 cheques You have to pay a deposit and a fee to an agent if they find you a place Villas in the area are Springs ( Both have shops, chemist, starbucks etc) Lakes Rents have increased massively and make sure if you use an agent that he is RERA registered and has the title deeds for the LL as there have been cases where its a scam It is best to use a legitimate agency Good Luck

Need your help please. DH is in Riyadh at the moment, cant remember the 3 digit code for case and needs to open case. What should he do? Can anyone help? Saw this online Turn your suitcase (Samsonite F'LITE comfort) upside down. At this position all your numbers look upside down. Now with the help of a torch light you should see a small gap above the rotating thing (the one with which you change your number) Take the first rotating thing and rotate from 0 to 9, at some particular number you can see a small hole inside the small gap which I have mentioned before. Do the same for the next 2 rotating thing. When you are done you can see the small hole(a tiny spring like material is seen in the hole) in all the three small gaps. Now you can open the number lock. :-) Hope this helps

My husband has been offered a job in Dubai media city. We have two small kids. I would really appreciate some answers to my questions below: - what are the best areas to stay in (centrally located to shops/hospitals/chemists ext)? - what would the cost of groceries be per month for a family of 4 (rough estimate)? - Is it better to buy or rent a car? - Best places to purchase groceries/baby formula/nappies ext. thanks :) Do you want a villa or apartment Close to Media City is JLT, The Greens, The Springs, The Lakes, The Marina Cant help with cost of groceries but they are expensive if you shop in Waitrose, Spinneys etc I shop in Carrefour and you can buy groceries, baby formula, nappies which are cheaper than the above. When I first moved here I rented a car but because I knew I was staying for a fair few years I bought a car. Petrol is dirt cheap :-) Good sites for apartments/villas www.justrentals,com propertyfinder.ae

worried or thankful? we know daza will be sad..... Ha! I'm not worried at all, why should they cancel? They didn't break the law, they were in Peru and Peruvian law allows for personal consumption of such things. Legally speaking, they have done nothing wrong. There have been artists perform here that have gotten up to a lot worse.... George Michael for one!

Thanks for your reply sarahlou, you're lucky they moved out! I don't think mine are any time soon, I think we will be the ones to go! the reason I originally asked what happens when you call the police is because like you I do not want to and I am not taking this option lightly, just been left with no choice and is completely my last resort. exactly, during the day noise sometimes you have to weigh it up depending on the situations, but 3am on a week day like you said is just unacceptable. I couldn't bring myself to disturb anyone I would hate the thought of someone next door to me suffering because of my noise, it's a shame theres obviously few people who have the same respect. They actually laughed in my face once when I asked them to stop shouting at 3am on a weekday Her words to security were "It is my home, I shall do as I wish" and " it isn't my fault she works and we don't" They were awful and I realized how it was going to be from day one when they decided to put pictures up at 2am in the morning ( Drilling against my bedroom wall) They had a microwave on the balcony and a hot plate and would cook the smelliest fish on there in the early hours of the morning, cleaning and vaccuming started at 2am. The new neighbours have 2 kids and are very quiet compared to the last lot. I would be mortified if I woke someone up etc

Before anyone jumps to conclusions, I do not wish to go into details why as I have already exhausted ALL other avenues for this for MONTHS, I have already spoken many times and believe we are now being walked all over. My family have not slept properly through the night in so long, so I do not believe in simply 'sucking it up' anymore. izzyontheseat, you're right thanks. Some people are completely selfish, ignorant and have no regard for others and I am finally doing something about it. I got the information I needed from the original lady who kindly replied, that's all I wanted to know. thank you. I went through the same for nearly 2 years. It is awful and i understand where you were coming from. I didn't want to call the Police as I felt that I may be taking them away from a more urgent thing/ however in the end my neighbours gave me no choice. I actually jumped up and down screaming when they finally moved out. Some people just don't care and its a case of "my home, I will do what I like" not considering others. I didn't mind it during the day, just not at 3am during the working week Good Luck

Each driver works a 12 hour shift, 7 days a week. Each taxi (the car itself) has a day shift driver and a night shift driver. If the day driver doesn't get his car back to base for the night shift he is fined. Each driver has a dollar target they MUST reach or they are penalized. Each call out that is not collected, driver is penalized and not awarded a new job for however long their system is. They must keep that 6dh flagfall on the their meter to avoid that penalty. Most don't start their meter up again for you until you both decide that 6dhs would have been used by now on your journey. The taxi company does this to ensure that taxis actually go to the call outs and not pick up someone on the road leaving the call out customer stranded and late. By all means, please DO call the RTA and complain. Lets get this driver another fine, censure, penalty and possibly cost him his job on top of the already grueling conditions he works under. LIKE

Absolutely illegal. However, many people do it. Personally, I would not risk it. I have know of a couple people being caught, fined and deported for hiring illegals. The entire family had to leave the country. It is not worth the risk, however tempting. The police raided the building next to mine and caught many illegal maids working I constantly get notes pushed under the door so they must have a thing with security to let them in

has anyone experience on rent reduction as of ongoing maintenance issues causing limited use of accomodation? LL does not really care about problems and is also not refunding bills for maintenace so far. can be in any form such as reducing amount of cheque, blocking cheques etc? thanks a lot. I think you have to go the Police to stop/block a cheque I have never come across anyone getting a rent reduction. As Izzy says speak to the rent committee

So, if we do 'nothing' then the contract will auto renew and the LL cannot increase the rent as per "the laws of the dubai govement and REAR Calculator"?! Why is it better to leave it longer? I have had a look to find what form these 'notices of intention to increase rent' should take and can find nothing. It's clear that if the LL wants to evict you it has to be a notarised letter. But, for a change to a contract? Does that need to be notarised or is a verbal agreement deemed sufficient? Should we just turn off our phones for the day :) ?? After 90 days he cant increase. I suppose the closer it is to 90 days he may argue about Iwouldn't switch your phone off as he will have proof if he tries to call. Changes to contract have be agreed by both parties at 90 days or more. It doesn't have to be notarized. once the 90 days has elapsed he cannot increase. This is all over the media and everyone is talking about it so he has no excuse not to be aware of this.

We have been lucky enough to find the most wonderful nanny to join our family, and I would like to help her study something so that when we eventually leave Dubai, she will have some more options. She is amazing with our son, but I know that she would love to study finance or accounting rather than be a nanny eventually. Do you have any suggestions for a course that she could take - perhaps one that runs on the weekend when we don't need her? She has three children back home in the Philippines and I would love to see her build more of a career either here or back home, but she has never studied as was sent to work straight away. Thanks so much Meirc training do different courses http://www.meirc.com/contact-us

I just read about a great new centre opening in Al Quoz next Wednesday. It is a huge indoor trampolining/bounce park. they have a website www.bounce.ae. and a Facebook page. The concept has been brought here from Australia. They have different sessions for different age groups. You need to book on-line. 70-80 dhs an hour. A great way for kids to have fun and get fit! I met with the owner last year. It looks like a fab place to go and I will pop down there at some point :-) Sarahlou she said kids ;) He said it is for all ages including purple rinses! ;-)
