Gives me the horrors! We once had a very close black ice/edge of cliff moment driving to our local ski field in NZ. I wouldn't drive when it was that bad. Hate black ice so scary!

...[url=https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152013286522499'>this[/url'> video is pretty crazy. Best not to watch if about to go out on the school run down SMBZ road like I just did. The snow part is the same when I lived in Germany. We used to drive the range road every day and see the exact same thing plus many cars in ditches! Scary stuff

Hi, thanks for your advice - Photoshop argument wont work, the pics have her apartment in the background, very clearly :\ - She comes from a very conservative family so coming clean will make them super upset and really shatter her parents - Will try contacting Facebook, though he makes a whole new profile every time (done it twice in the past 2 months) so they cant predict what email address he will use - She tried speaking to his sister and he got angry at her for getting his family involved and that's when he put up the profile the 2nd time - and he said if she gets his family involved again he will humiliate her whole family - again, with pictures He is an absolute mad person, he actually should be locked up I would break every tie with him, his family and everyone associated with him. If my Brother did something like that I would batter the face off him. There isn't a lot she can do and to be honest I doubt he would do it. Men like him tend to make idle threats when they don't get their own way. Begging and pleading with him not to do it only strokes his ego! He seriously needs to grow up .

I agree, come clean and hope he is only calling her bluff I highly doubt pictures of that nature would stay on FB for too long and she can report him if he did do it. Does she still communicate with him? If so, I would advise her to stop immediately. If it were me I would tell him to do his worst but then I am stubborn . ignoring him is the best bet and hopefully he will eventually go away.

Thanks Ladies.... I seen ones in Debenhams Silent Night, was quoted 2400.00Dhs.... was quite surprised at the price. So I just wonder how would they company with the Home Centre ones? Should I pay more or are the Home Centre ones just as good? Anyone got any exp? I had a tempur one in the UK and the Home Centre one here and to be honest no major difference If you have Facebook add the MOE page and part way down the MOE page I think there is an offer to get 20% off at home center

You should still be able to click on your name and then change to either available or not, ie still be on line but others think you're not. There is an offline and invisible icon on the new platform :-)

BTW, just because I like trivia, it's not "PAP", it's "Pap". It's not an acronym, it's just an abbreviation of "Papanicolaou" - the name of the Greek doctor who invented it. edited by Madge_Gustard on 31/03/2014 At home we never used the word Pap at all

I love a soda water with lime cordial and Roses is the only brand that does the trick, the others are disgusting, has anyone seen any bottles recently. I used to get it in Choitrams at Safa but they have not had it for months, has anyone seen it elsewhere as I am desperate. TIA I will have a look tonight in Choitrhams at the Greens and see if it is there

I'm trying to organise a little party for about 15 people and wondered which options I have in regards to catering. Ideally I would like it to be a casual event with a BBQ or a Spit roast (a little suckling *** would be lovely, but guess am in the wrong place for this ;)) If I had the talent to BBQ, I would even do it myself, but guess the guests wouldn't get anything to eat. Any suggestions very welcome. Have you called Fibber McGees they do outside catering

I just had one a couple of weeks ago and the doctor said she would write on the form that i was sufferring with pain and that was the reason for the smear otherwise medical wouldnt cover it if its just a check up. which i think is really bad actually. They should cover at least one a year to cut down the risks of cervical cancer! I went through the same thing back in 2006. I had one done in the UK which came back abnormal and then had to have them done every 6 months. I showed the letter from my GP to the hospital here and battled with the receptionist even though my insurance company here covered me for this. She then had the cheek to try and sell me the HPV vaccine which considering my age was of no use. Raging wasn't the word and I would never set foot in that hospital again

The thing is we are both tall. And it's not always we manage to get the exit seats. This time it's a 2leg flight and I'm worried we won't get the exit row on the 2nd leg What airline are you flying? KLM for example has they exit seats which I usually book, and then there is the economy plus, which are the front row seats and they cost extra. Air France has it, BA as well I think. Virgin do too

You have to go direct to reservations and see what their policy is, it differs between airlines. Also computer systems will not allow two seats in the same name. Some airlines are requesting obese passengers to book two seats (preferably next to each other!) lol Can you not look at another flight or [b'>go to first?[/b'> Only in Dubai. I bet everyone on this forum is flying only business or first :) Not a chance. Economy every time. Have you seen the cost of first and business in EK

I know how you feel as I am tall too It's not Emirates.. and they do not allow you to reserve the exit seats (I was never able to do it on Emirates flights either?) Apologies I was thinking aisle. I have always got to the airport as early as possible to get these seats. Good Luck!

Hello ladies, I have not yet relocated to Dubai, but am already trying to look up potential apartments online. During my initial months, I won't have a car and would prefer to live close to a metro station or at least at a place where it is easy to get a cab. However since I am going to live in Dubai for a few years, this shouldn't be my utmost priority, as I intend to get a drivers license (never had one) within the first few months. Can any of you share your experiences with living in the following towers? Standpoint The Loft Burj Residences the residences boulevard 29 Southridge claren Are there any good towers which I have overlooked? I understand that they all are at different price levels. What I have not understood yet is where there is chiller fee included/free. Preferably the building should have a good gym/pool/steam/sauna, as I like to relax after a busy day at work. Help will be so much appreciated and help me to sort this out quickly once I have arrived. Getting info on the Lofts and Boulevard for you as friends live in them Will post answers in a few hours

I am considering switching over from Mashreq to Emirates NBD for various reasons. Can anyone tell me if Emirates NBD has an easy website to navigate through for online payments (dewa, elife etc.) and checking of statements? When you call their helpline can you speak to an actual human being? When you shop overseas does your visa card get accepted every time (not blocked or rejected?) TIA! I do inform them before I go away that I will be using the card so they don't put a block on it I find their customer service staff, knowledgeable and very nice!

Hi Ladies! We may have to move at the end of our tenancy contract due to an expected increase in rent. (Sob....) I've been looking at 2 bed plus study/maid in the Greens but all seem to only come with one parking space. Is this the norm? We have two cars, so obviously one space would be a major issue. Are there any visitor spaces? I imagine parking is a bit of a nightmare unless you have designated spaces. Any help is greatly appreciated. :) No visitors spaces although I do sneak friends in ( Don't tell anyone) and tell security where the visitors are and they don't park in taken spaces. Parking on the road is hit and miss depending upon what time you finish work. Don't let it put you off through. I have lived there for 3 years and love it :-)

It will probably come down to the lifestyle you want to live over there. That might take a few months to figure out, having being gone so long! There are so many great things about a UK lifestyle that I miss so much - being able to shop for decent, well priced food, things like local butcheries, decent customer service, proper seasons, down to earth Yorkshire folk, living in a proper house with character, not spending way over the odds for normal everyday things, road courtesy, the list goes on! I feel the same. I even miss lying all cosy in bed and listening to the wind outside Watching the big oak tree outside my house shed its leaves. After 9pm no traffic or incessant honking . People saying good morning to you in my village, watching all the kids walk to school, helpful staff in shops. White van men wolf whistling you haha My list is endless too

Is there any point in the e-gate card anymore? Last time I came through T3 I was able to register my passport for free and can now use the same machines reserved for e-gates. Took 2 mins. All they needed to do was take a photo of my eyes. Could you give a bit more info about this please? Was it on the way out of Dubai or as you come back in and is there a sign or anything to show where to do this. TIA I think you ask the guys on the desk as you go through passport control

Mine are due to be changed in another 2 months and I'm already looking forward to it! No, the extensions I have can't be re-used (unfortunately) so it doesn't matter about having them trimmed and them getting shorter.....unless some idiot lops off a huge amount which kind of defeats the object of having them. Grr. I've tried the reusable ones (microrings) but I didn't get one with them as I felt the extensions got a lot thinner over time as they began to shed....then they start looking very stringy. I had micro rings and did okay with them but lost a lot in the first few weeks I have great lengths done now with keratin bonds and have never lost one. Thankfully my friend does them for me at home as I cant sit still long enough. I left the last lot in for over 4 months and it was awful taking them out. My head was so sore. Never again

Yes, exactly Izzy. At some point the extensions need to be removed and re-positioned but, until that point, they just grow like normal hair and so will need to be trimmed - especially as the ends can become very dry. Mine are due out this month and new ones going in! Cannot wait :-) More blue or are we having a change of colour ;) May have a change for my trip to the UK ;-)

I need a good quality durable one that I can bounce on for the next few weeks as basically any position is painful / unladylike / uncomfy. Thanks!! Are they the same as the ones you see in the gym? If so. Sun and Sand Sport behind the Police station on SZR sell them as do most of the sports shops :-)

Hi Everyone, So I got an eviction notice from my Landlord around 11 months ago. The letter was typed by him and not notarized. I did sign receiving the letter but thinking that this was not legal anyways since it isn't notarized. I also know for a fact that the landlord does not want to use the apartment for his own use nor did he or plan to sell it. Anyways, I took him to court and had my hearing last week. To my surprise, the judge only asked 2 questions. He asked the landlord if he accepts or rejects the case. The landlord rejected and said that he have me a notice which I signed last year. Then the judge asked me, what is your response. I said that this notice is not notarized and not legal, and I have offered the LL any rental increase amount and even to buy the apartment (both of which is true). The judge did not seem to have taken my last statement into any consideration, he just took a note that I said "waiting for notarized notice which I didn't receive". The reason I am writing here, is that I am bee anxious to know he result of this case, unfortunately I will not hear back from the. Courts until 3 weeks (because they do not rule on the spot). Any advise? Anybody had something similar and won? I think if you signed it then you may not have a leg to stand on Most people who have taken their LL to court and won have done because they were not given 12 notice. I don't believe it actually has to be notarized even though the laws state that? Grey area and let us know how you get on I did read on here of one lady who took her LL to court as he said he was moving in. He didn't although had given her 12 months notice. She lost her case

Absolutely agree, That being said, her dress did meet the criteria for modesty, I was shocked at how inappropriately some people were dressed, usually people who could ill afford to wear a bottom skimming dress. I love looking at the photos of larger ladies in 10 cms of skin tight satin at the races. I'm not that flash myself but it always makes me feel almost stylish in comparison. Summer races at home are the same. Most of them would look nice if they bought a size larger instead of shoe horning themselves into clothes they are obviously too small

Absolutely agree, There were some stunning outfits, but they obviously didn't bother entering into the best dressed competition, not everyone would sign themselves up for best dressed and parade on a stage. If you look at the other contestants in the photo with her, they were not too inspiring either. That being said, her dress did meet the criteria for modesty, I was shocked at how inappropriately some people were dressed, usually people who could ill afford to wear a bottom skimming dress. The winner of the "Best Dressed Lady" at the Dubai Cup last night. Sorry but I don't agree, the dressed is drab and positively frumpy, that collar is so wrong and the hat well although you would expect something ostentatious for the races, if it was meant to look like an ostrich collided with a UFO she succeeded. What were they thinking. There must have better dressed ladies there! http://www.emirates247.com/news/emirates/caught-on-camera-best-dressed-lady-takes-a-jaguar-dubai-s-great-gatsby-2014-03-29-1.543423 edited by Di@DXB on 30/03/2014 miaowww !!! Much quicker than going to the office in Business Bay office! Can you not do it at the Dnata building on SZR next to what used to be the old Metropolitan hotel any more, then? It was always very quick there. edited by Madge_Gustard on 29/03/2014 It still is. Mine took 5 mins and the staff were really cheerful and funny. The guy who took my picture kept saying no, no, this picture not good. Again, again :-)
