Ladies, I have recently been offered a job with another company which will improve my career prospects however to terminate my current contract I have to give 45 days notice and 1 1/2 months salary as compensation. It is written in black and white on the contract however I have been told it should be one or the other, not both. Can anyone help advise? I have written an email to the Labor Office but have not had a response. Is there any useful (working) numbers I could call? Any help at all would be appreciated. K Are you on a limited contract or an unlimited one? Paying back part of a salary is a very grey area and most people end up paying it as it would cost a considerable amount to pursue a court case against your company if they took it out of your end of service benefits. With regards to 45 days notice period. Labor law does stipulate 30 days and the labor contract you have lodged with the MOL will state this however you have signed the contract and getting out of it without having to do 45 days and pay back the money will be difficult. There isn't anything in the laws to say they can do this but some companies do due to cost of visas etc.

I cannot understand the ridiculous prices they charge for permanent makeup in Dubai. I had it done it South Africa three times and t cost me less than 500AED to have it done. 2500AED is really quite bizarre. I respect that I am paying for a person's expertise but this is not open heart surgery. Can anyone tell me if you know a reasonably priced salon that you can personally recommend? Thank you. I don't think there is anywhere. Most of these sorts of services are massively overpriced due to the cost of importing said items. :-( I have cosmetic procedures done here and they cost 3 times more than the UK. I now wait till I go home to have them done "

Hi ladies, I am pregnant and this summer will be my DS last holiday before he becomes a big brother :) We want to take him somewhere really special maybe Disneyland or Legoland but he's only 3 so looking for advice from anyone who has been to either on suitability or alternative ideas? TIA My BFF who has 3 boys, go to LegoLand more than once a year, they love it. Can't get enough really!! I'd highly recommend it :) And as your LO is only 3 I think DisneyLand etc is a bit old for him, IMHO A 3 year old is too old for Disneyland? :-) It is perfect for little ones Ive heard it can all get a bit much/overwhelming - but what do I know! Now I get what you mean. I saw Shrek and embarrassed all my friends acting like a child ha

We were in Disneyland HK at Christmas and took our 1yo. She was a bit young for most of the rides, so I'd say age 2+ is perfect. If you were considering the UK, I have heard Peppa P!g world is meant to be amazing ;) I have heard that too and my Niece is mad about Peppa

Follow the Body For Life religiously for 3 months A friend has just done it and her transformation is amazing! She was a typical pear shape and carried weight on her bum, thighs and calves. She has lost inches and sculpted her body. It is like looking at a different woman.

But the morning show with Kenny and Akalia is seriously painful. It is no longer Kenny and Akalia, Akalia is doing her own shows now. Kenny has two young ladies with him now, I did hear Daisy was going to join him as well. It is a different show but I will give it a chance. Its easy listening on the way into work. I think it is Emma and another lady. Daisy is on now

I have too many dvd's and would like to copy them to an harddrive. What is the best way to do this? Was already thinking if someone does it to earn some money and to save my time. Do you have any advise? There isn't a quick way unfortunately. You will have to put them into your hard drive and copy all of them individually. I have never come across a company that will do this for you. I wiled away a Saturday afternoon doing mine whilst doing other jobs

My iphone is no longer working and I don't know how long I can go without one. Just trying to decide if there are any places here that sell unused unlocked ones that arent super expensive. I dont mind paying up to 1200 AED. I found some on Dubizzle but i'm not sure if I can trust the sellers? I have insurance in the US but after paying the deductible/unlocking fee/ and having it shipped here it will cost almost 250. It will also take some time as I would have to make my younger brother do all all this for me which will turn into a big headache. Please let me know where the best place is here to get an iphone4s! Have you looked on the website Jadopado? I bought my Galaxy from there

Prices have to crash soon ..... I would say they are now as high as 2008 before the crash for rentals , this level of growth is unsustainable . How people are going to manage to stay here much longer is beyond me ! Don't think prices are going to crash soon. There are too many people in this region for whom putting all their money into Dubai is the best option. Iranians, Syrians, Libyans, Russians (and other CIS countries), even Chinese and Indians - Dubai is a safe haven. And there is still not even housing to support all the people looking to buy here, I think. They aren't going to crash anytime soon and as DM said lots of cash buyers and not many new projects finished so rents go up due to supply and demand. The prices are nothing like 2008 at all and are considerably lower. I don't think they will continue to rise but not come down either :-(

I can't for one minute imagine what the poster must be going through. When my ex H cheated we didn't have children and it took me every ounce of strength to leave him. We were living abroad at the time I was young and totally dependent upon him and didn't want to go back to the life I had before ( long story) There were many women and one day I snapped. I left with absolutely nothing, only the clothes I stood up in and donations of money from friends. I don't regret leaving but admit even with no children it was difficult and I challenge any woman who says they would leave immediately. The good thing to come out of this is that he remarried pretty quickly afterwards and has not been faithful to her therefore they are now separated. I cant give you any pearls of wisdom except to say that you do what you need to for your children and yourself Good Luck Good Luck .

For 30 years I have struggled , fought and cried to always end up with : A huge lump in the middle and nothing at the sides. Me having all the duvet and hubby having nothing. Or just lumps and bumps everywhere. I have never thought to pin or peg everything together ( feeling really thick now ! ) Thank you ladies , you have saved my duvets:) ( and my sanity ! ) Its difficult with the massive duvets we have here. I have ended up inside the blimmin thing before now!

I have to agree with Lolacat. This thread will go on and on and will get you nowhere. One of the ladies going through the same offered to stay in touch OP, I'd take that offer. I am not married nor do I have kids and I can't imagine how hard the decision must be as a mum whether you leave or not and possibly take your kids away from their father. But for me, cheating is a capital offense, disrespecting you and disrespecting the vows he made to you. Not to mention putting someone at risk of STD's

Viewing apartment, is he selling it and are you staying - I missed the conclusion with all that? They have been trying to sell for almost 6 months so I will get my years notice at the end of April I don't think they can sell as the buyer will want it empty immediately to move in or re-rent So many people have been round to view it. I would say 25 people so far! Wow that's loads! Are you going to stay in the Greens? I am thinking of going home ;-)
