Explorer, Mountain Gate 04 346 6350 & Howdra We are using Mountain gate and very happy with them. I interviewed 4 at Howdra (didn't like any), 3 at Explorer (1 was ok) and 3 at Mountain gate (really liked two). you pay a AED 3000 admin fee (non refundable) AED 5,000 security cheque (non dates, so they don't actually bank it, It's only if something happens) AED 2,700 per month. (first month upfront, rest post dated) This is for Long term (4-12 months, but you can extend. They also offer short term 1-3months but more expensive) you also buy their food and toiletries. All three agencies are the same price and all agency maids get 1000 per month.

We just hired ours through Mountain Gate late week. We asked them that questions they said while we are away they can stay at our friends house while we are gone and work for them. Double check with your agency as mountain gate told us that last week.

I have been using Dr Loubser at Infinity Clinic on Al Wasal Road for the last two and a half years. For new patients it takes about 6 weeks to get an appointment as he is in high demand. He is very very good. One of the big things for me was the BCG injections, He did my first sons very well (won't let anyone else do them cos they can very easily go bad) so I refused it for my second son at birth and went to him at 6 weeks for the BCG. Overall I am very happy with him. Ive used a few around dubai, but he is my favorite. There is one drawback with him though - Because he is so busy it can be difficult to get an appointment if your baby is sick. Bookings are usually done about a month in advance for vaccines and checkups but you can't predict when your baby will be sick! You have to phone up at 8am each morning and ask if anyone has cancelled for that day. (I've had to do it four times and got in on three of those, but on weekends they are closed so can't go in) I have heard from friends that Dr Khan at Cooper Clinic is also good, and the new pead at City hospital Dr Kethar or something like that. One thing to check is your insurance policy and what is covered where. I love infinity clinic BUT its pay and claim, which really annoys me because I am terrible at organization and always loose the papers before they get sent to insurance. City Hospital is direct billing so I only have to sign for it, so with some things I will go there or to one of the EHL clinics. Hope this helps.

Have a special toy they play with while you are breastfeeding... My 2 and half year old would want my attention as soon as I started feeding the new baby. He would climb all over me and get jealous. As soon as your finished feeding baby give her some attention and cuddles. Aquadoodle is a good one as its not messy just water and keeps them busy. Mornings can be a little tricky at first if they both wake up and want food at the same time. I eventually got the younger one into a routine to wake up at 6am feed, back to sleep so when his brother woke at 7 I could get his breakfast ready without holding baby. It did take a little while to get this sorted but made a big difference not having two crying kids that wanted food! I made a game of most things. Getting the wet wipes out to help with the nappy. Put the nappy into the bin etc. Include her in as much as possible so she knows new baby hasn't replaced her. Good luck and hope this helps.

Overnight my son sleeps with Nappies but doesn't wear in the day. He stopped having day time naps just before two so I don't have that issue. I would suggest a nappy during naps as it will wake him up when he wets himself and just end up over tired and grumpy. try a few days without nappys and see if he does stay sleeping just continue, if he wakes up try nappys. Instead of bear bottom I kept underwear on him or tight pants that he will feel the wetness when he has an accident. Good Luck!!

Continue pumping for 10 minutes after you milk stops flowing. Its supply demand... the more you demand the more you will supply. It will take a day or two for your body to register. Hipp Organic Breastfeeding tea apparently works - I didnt like it so never used. Fenugreek works well can get that at the health shop. correct dose is that you can smell it on your skin but others should smell it on you. I think I was taking 2 tablets 2 times a day, I can't remember. Lastly Domperidone. Its called Motillium he, over the counter. Its about 40dhs for the box. this is what got my milk supply up. They use it on newborns that have stomach issues so safe for baby. The amount that passes through breastmilk is less than what newborns are given. I think it was 2 tabs three times a day. Used for anti nausea people take 16 tablets a day - It is a very weak medicine. Do research about it before starting and speak to your dr or Lactation Consultant. a place to start http://www.breastfeedingonline.com/domperidone.shtml Those are the steps I used. I stopped Motillium after about 3 weeks as my supply was really good. You have to gradually slow it down until you are no longer taking. Its a more drastic measure to increase milk supply but its safe and really helped me as I didn't want to give up breastfeeding yet. Hope this helps. edited by sarahlouise on 28/08/2012

Thanks. The only reason i was thinking of Posh was I spoke to someone who did the same deal at Burj and said it was the best haircut she ever had. I don't know who the hairdresser was though. Will give Salon Ink a call. Thanks.

My son has been going to the Summer Camp and 3 days from September. Their organization must have improved as everything went smoothly. Yesterday he cam home with a nurse note in his school bag saying he was bitten by a firmed while they were playing and went to the nurse for Ice to reduce swelling. I really like that they explain what the marks are from. (his friend has a very good bite!) At his last nursery I had to phone and ask why he came home with a black eye! So far I have been very happy with kensington. Their food menu looks very yummy!

We put our son on camels milk at about 13months as he was getting rashes from cows milk. He loved it! After going on holiday at 15 months we ended up back on cows milk and he was fine with it, no rashes. He is now 2 and a half and asked for camels milk while in spinneys last month and since then he refuses to drink cows milk! If I run out of camels milk I have to tip cows milk into the camel container otherwise big temper tantrums for camel milk. Ive read its the closest to human milk... more proteins etc than cows milk. (not the reason we used it but interesting)

We are doing well! Can't believe its already been 3 months! Little one came early and ended up being born end of march. Still not sleeping through the night but wakes up, eats, and straight back to sleep so its not too bad. He is doing 7-12.30 then wakes again at 4.45 and 6.30. How many of you are staying in Dubai over summer? Hows everyone else doing?

We had BUPA and they were really good. I ended up canceling the policy when I was about 3 months pregnant as my husband changed jobs and we got Daman with better coverage through his work I only used them for the first few appointments so not sure about the whole process with them but it was direct billing with City hospital.

Thanks Ladies. My son will be 4 months and we have to fly to UK for a Wedding so will only be there for 2 days. We thought we would give business a try since we would be tired from so much travel over such a short time. Have never done business on A380 so just wanted to check if there was any seats better than others. Thanks for the window seat advice - Will definitely avoid that!

Hi The City Hospital have post natal care. They have Mothers support groups once a month on Tuesday mornings and post natal exercise classes every wednesday morning on the top floor of the hospital. I think its 70dhs per class and includes a free dietitian appointment on your first session. I have been to a few of their exercise classes - they are really good, Its done by a physio so they know the good exercises to do with weak pelvic floor muscles. Babies are welcome to some also. They have normal gym equipment like treadmills bikes and cross trainers etc. Its all organized through the physiotherapy department. For vaccines its generally pay per vaccine. But some medical insurance polices cover them. I know Bupa and Daman do. Good luck with your move to Dubai with your 3 newborns!

I am in Cedre Villas as well but go to Infinity Clinic on Al Wasl rd and see Dr Loubser. He is really good and worth the drive there. I've been using him for my 2 and a half year old and 10 week old baby. There is a medical center that recently opened by spinneys but I have no idea what they are like or if their doctors are any good.

I was worried about my son not speaking at about 21 months as well and took him to see a speech therapist - Sarah at the City Hospital (She was brilliant!) She assessed him and said nothing to worry about, the key is that he was trying to communicate and interacting. When she pointed and spoke about the picture on the wall he looked and then replied (in his 'aah eha ah ah" sounds) and pointed to something else. I think its more the interaction than the words themselves. Now at 26 months he wont stop talking. If you are still worried you have nothing to loose by taking her to see someone. The reassurance is the best thing. edited by sarahlouise on 12/02/2012

Don't worry about it, As you said we are all different. With my first I went from 50kgs to 75Kgs!! A lot of it was water retention as my legs and hands were so swollen. Baby was 3.8kgs This time I'm now 30 weeks and put on 10kgs. (for me it all comes on at the end, should be an interesting 2 months!) Having said that I just put on 3.5kgs in 11 days. It takes 9 months to gain the weight so don't expect it to fall off too quickly. It took me a year to get back to with a couple of Kgs. Good luck with your pregnancy. :)
