I believe as long as you provide a letter from the employer that it is under process its ok and yes the school could choose to say no. But now with automated and appointment based RP issuances, it will not be possible for parents to wait 2 months till their children can go to school. Thats why I suggested to go and see the principal.

Hey that is nonsense! My girls started at Sherborne before their residency was done, as long as there was a letter from hubby company and fees were paid. They r just trying to scare u off coz they have so many people applying and can't be bothered! If u have a place for your kids, demand to see the principal and get them in!

Hi, we used to live at the Pearl for a short while before we found Al Fardan 5. The commute to Westbay is easy as its there. Commute to school is about 20 mins as u would be going against the traffic. Its the only place convenient for both. Hope that helps, it wont offer u the compound feeling but does have villas and is a fantastic place to live

Hi I am living in al far dan garden 5 near a big mall called villagio in Doha. My kids go to Sherborne and so do lots of others from my compound. The commute is 20 mins and we do car pool also. The compound is fantastic with lots of space fir kids to ride bikes and play and we love BBQ ing around the pool. I would recommend this as the best place to stay with kids and proximity to school. If I need anything else pls let me know.

Hi Picklz, If you r kids will be going to Sherborne, Al Fardan Gardens 5 is a great place to live. School is a 20 min commute and that is good by Doha standards! There is a Sherborne school bus that comes here and lots of parents car pool to the school also. The houses are big, well maintained, excellent facilities (pool tennis, restaurant, cinema room). Its a 5 min drive from one of the best malls in Doha, Villagio. Lots of families and great friends to be made for you and your kids.

Ladies do not bother to go to aspire in the hope of joining! I live near and have been going for 2 months straight to be told its full up and I cannot join. I asked will people be leaving and then I can join? To which I was told, we have no way of checking if someone leaves so no u cannot join! Basically u pay and join, and then u are a member for the whole year whether u ever take a class, swim or not! Its ridiculous! I got so angry and swore never to bother going again!

Hi ladies my daughter is in yr3 at Sherborne and loves it! The school is a huge building with plenty of space to play and an indoor auditorium, also big. There is no pool, no green field to play in and no canteen so it has to be packed lunches. The school is here temporarily as they will build their own one day, most of us will not be around for that!! We live in Al Fardan 5 near Villagio mall and the commute is excellent (20 mins or so) I am not sure about WBay lagoon. I am happy with the teachers at Sherborne, but often feel the kids are not pushed enough, for eg my 8 yr old often says how her work is too easy! We applied for her to get into DESS last yr when we arrived and they turned us down, she has a place for this sept, and as it is one of the best schools in doha, we r moving her to Dess. Sherborne is a good school, it lacks facilities tho. Good luck!

Hi I am looking for a maid for look after my 2 kids. The salary is too much, the two days off is not possible, and we have a room and bathroom in the house so unfortunately cannot offer her the extra cottage. Hi we have been thru 2 months with Dr Khalid at Al Ahli, my daughter broke her foot and had to have surgery etc !!! It was a fantastic experience, he is really good! I would recommend him!

Hi I don't see any reason why u can't look for work and get it based on hubby's sponsorship. Your company will transfer the visa to employment and that should be fine. I am on hubby's sponsorship and looking for work so don't think it should be an issue. Just check with whoever u interview next and let them know that your company does not issue noc letter. Hope this helps!

Hi I also had peg headaches. I rubbed tiger balm on temples and stayed away from too much light. My doc also gave me mild childrens zyrtec an anti allergy which helped! Check with doc first and good luck!
