Hi, I was wondering if anyone who lives in Doha has heard of a Dr. Riyadh who is a senior consultant at Hamad Women's Hospital. I am due to have my first appointment with him and as there are so many doctors and all pretty much booked out, I was wondering what the reviews are on him? I have never been to women's hospital before, as I gave birth to my first child in Al Ahli. Thanks, Sara

Can someone please recommend a good pediatrician in Doha. We've been to Al Ahli, where my child was born, and i am not happy with them. Been to El Madi Hospital where its ok but every doctor there analyses the condition differently and C Ring where i am fed up with changing doctors every time and some of them have no clue. Every doctor has had different opinions for the same condition and my child is constantly put on antibiotics and is always ill with colds and sinus infections.

I think we are all lucky at the lifestyle we get to enjoy anywhere in the Middle East compared to the rest of the world. It is safe, we don't need to worry about terrible weather or dreaded public transport. Our kids are hardly exposed to drugs, gangs and all other threats you find in the rest of the world. I still don't need to worry about whether i am wearing a gold watch or whether i left my handbag on the coffee table. Over the years and as time continues, this will all change as well so best enjoy it while we have it. The biggest issue i see with Qatar is its healthcare. They seriously need to make more of an effort in improving on it, especially that they want to become the capital of sport. You can't have one without the other and this to me is a country with the poorest healthcare anywhere in the region. I have been in the Middle East for the last 28 years, with only 5 spent back home (i am european) and i haven't struggled so much to find a knowledgable doctor. It makes it all that worse now that i have a child. If i had a choice, i would return to Dubai but that is just if you asked me what i prefered. We may not always have that choice.
