We are a multi dog and cat family that also have 2 Great Danes. We take all of our animals to Dr. Jim at Europets in Sharjah. In all the years we have known him and he has treated our pets we have never had a problem including him looking after a 19 year old lab and a 14 year old basset hound.

My driver just called to say there is a white mid size dog, bit like the dog in the cartoon Tin Tin, roaming loose on the road by the electricity station at Arabian Ranches on the 611. I cannot do anything in darkest Sharjah he is on other side with a very Islamic person in the car who will not let him pick up a dog. So if anyone has lost a woofit in that area it's worth a look

My maid has been with me for over 20 years. We are very friendly with each other and know when things are wrong for each other. Our dogs are our children so she dog sits not baby sits. I know her family and have met most of them.if we go out she sits with us but does not eat with us at home she has her own home behind ours. If I am ever off work (I wish) we chat as sisters would.

Work in the event industry and have recently employed 8 Sri Lankans each one had to return to Sri Lanka and do the attested medical; you also need to provide an employment letter for the bureau there and certain categories also need to do a training course there which I think is aimed at domestic workers. Also to complete my problems with this one of my existing Sri Lankan Techs wanted to sponsor his wife and child and they have had to return to Sri Lanka so the wife can do a medical which you need to get a residency visa.

I bought chips, etc from souq.com maybe worth looking there you can get quite bizarre things; bought in wheel from SA and felt from UK. You could get a child's version in the 10 dhs shops which I found amusing. Have never seen anything in that vein elsewhere sorry

We used Hydrolite, they were professional, quick and no hassle. Good rates for maintenance afterwards and did landscaping. Great thing was speaking to a Brit who really understood what we wanted at the outset.

Went to Al Maha regularly when it was operated through Emirates. Last year it changed to Starwoods, many staff left, attitude of staff left changed, food quality changed, service in general diminished. Costs however went up. It used to be inclusive of breakfast, lunch, dinner room service now there are different levels/plans. The nicer thing about Al Maha compared to the Banyon Tree is that the only things that could see you on your patio and in your pool had 4 legs! Pools in the Sahari villas are bigger than Al Mahas and a uniform shape easier to swim. I am an ex head teacher so totally understand not wanting screaming children, that was what drew us to Al maha for years .....the no children under 12 rule.

Have stayed at Al Wadi and going back next week. They have 3 types of villa at Al Wadi, I do not know about the beach location at all. Al Rimal are a bit like a terraced house, semi detached, with a dividing wall between you and your neighbour I would imagine they are noisy Al Khaimah are detached villas but quite close together Al Sahari are detached and spaced further apart with a manmade sand dune between, this is where we normally stay you can hear your neighbours but it is not too obtrusive. People can walk past and see you in your pool. Pool was chilled or heated as per request. Food was not the best very disappointed with Saffron, their Thai signature restaurant. Have also been lots to Al Maha which is more private I do not like it so much though since it changed hands last year. Hope this helps, enjoy your stay

Been here 32 years and been broken into twice; once in Al Ain and again in Sharjah. Next door neighbours were recently broken into whilst they were away. I believe 4 dogs help deter anyone trying our home.

King Charles are nice little woofits. I went through a breeder in Gautang who I am now very friendly with. She and her husband came to visit us here last year. My stepson, step daughter live in SA and they found 2 or 3 breeders for scotties but some breeders are not happy to ship outside SA. Are you from SA or do you need any help finding a reputable breeder as my Scottie friend shows her scotties there and they are champions but would know other breeders there for the breed you want. It was the state vet from SA who stopped my little scottie coming at 3 months; SA states 4 months before export. If I can be of any help let me know. sarah at evolution events dot ae

I bought in a Scottie from SA. Petwings were used from that side. He came in on an EK flight. We did the paperwork this side; it is very easy and painless and cheaper. We went to EK Cargo and picked him up with no problem. He/she must be 4 months old before he travels. Whilst waiting for the vet this side to sign him off as a live import I was allowed through to talk to him.

Not really a joke but I thought it was interesting; my jokes are not really suitable for this forum I have realised Question 1: If you knew a woman who was pregnant, who had 8 kids already, three Who were deaf, two who were blind, one mentally retarded, and she had Syphilis, would you recommend that she have an abortion? Read the next question before looking at the response for this one. Question 2: It is time to elect a new world leader, and only your vote counts. Here are the facts about the three candidates. Candidate A: Associates with crooked politicians, and consults with astrologists. He's had two mistresses. He also chain smokes and drinks 8 to 10 Martinis a day. Candidate B: He was kicked out of office twice, sleeps until noon, used opium in College and drinks a quart of whiskey every evening.. Candidate C: He is a decorated war hero. He's a vegetarian, doesn't smoke, drinks An occasional beer and never committed adultery. Which of these candidates would be our choice? Decide first... No peeking, and then scroll down for the response. Candidate A is Franklin D. Roosevelt . Candidate B is Winston Churchill. Candidate C is Adolph Hitler. And, by the way, on your answer to the abortion question: If you said YES, you just killed Beethoven. Pretty interesting isn't it? Makes a person think before judging someone. Remember: Amateurs ... Built the ark. Professionals ... Built the Titanic
