I would try to get rid of this cat as soon as possible. We had a similar problem with a large bully cat who would come into our garden and really bully our 2 cats. It got to the stage where it would wake us in the morning as he would sit outside our patio doors and growl in at our 2 who were petrified inside! One time, this horrible cat even chased one of ours into the house when the door was open, up the stairs and under the bed! It took us AGES to get it out of the damn house! I tried everything! Spraying water, throwing things at it, Jeyes fluid on the walls - everything but nothing ever kept it away. One morning I went out as there was a horrible fight going on and he had backed our bigger cat into a corner and was swiping at it! I went over with a slipper and tried to shoo it away and he scratched me badly. From that point on, no mercy! Now believe me when I say I am a HUGE animal lover and I would not hurt anything but in this case, he really was terrorising our cats, was trying to hurt them and had scratched me badly. So the next time he came into the garden, my husband took a broom and smacked him over the back with it. The cat yelped but ran away. He stayed away for a few days and when he reappeared a few days later, I did the same thing. I was shaking after it as I hated the thought of hurting him but he has never set foot in our garden since then. I have seen him in front of the house on a regular basis (so he wasnt hurt) but he has never set foot in our garden again. So.... am sorry to say, but perhaps force is sometimes the only way with these bully animals especially if they are hurting you or your cats..... I know this may attract lots of negative responses but the welfare of my cats was my priority! agree with you!! hope you did get a check up after that scratch from a wild cat.

I think for a first birthday, best to do with either just as a family or a small group of friends you and your child hang out with often. What I did with DD was we went to another state, then celebrated hers with a small cake and opened up pressies at home. Oh, i forgot to mention that we did have a party the night before (just parents).lol

I had never heard of it either until I was told that I could give birth there or in the American Hospital. I went along with my husband to check it out and let's just say, over my dead body would I ever go back. The underground car park is so small, our car got stuck on the ramp. We arrived upstairs to an empty reception and we waited 15 minutes before finding someone as the floor was empty. The place is depressing! Luckily my waters didn't break. There is absolutely nothing modern nor international about that place. In my honest opinion, I would look elsewhere! oh my. I don't know why you say that. Sorry, but you just simply sounded so arrogant.

I gave birth there. It's in bur dubai. I'm not sure what bedroom looks like, as it may vary from department to department. The paed ward is brill!! I had a room to myself. And the room comes with it's own ensuite plus a sitting room for guests. Why don't you go and have a look at the rooms?

I'm registered out of Media city as a consultant in marketing. I paid total around 18k - I had to get my own visa so worked out a 2-3k extra for that also. Most of my work is coming from Australia and other places abroad. But I have completed work for UAE clients and thats perfectly ok. I'm just not allowed to physically approach them to offer my business from outside the freezone (who need to anyway these days with internet). ETA - services is a lot easier to work around. When you have physical goods - thats when it becomes a little sticky. edited by Plain-Jane on 13/05/2012 we are in the svc line as well. Was wondering with regards to your visa, are you allowed to sponsor people? You will be able to sponsor family members (subject to all the other usual rules). I sponsor my son and have approval to sponsor a maid. You will not be able to sponsor a visa for an employee. To be able to do that you will need to look at the options for a company thank you. will look at dmc again. :)

Oh yes, I remember that. For the 1st week of so, it's just the colustrum, which is very important for the baby to have. Yes, the feeling that you can't bfeed is just there. But, my doula told me, to be patient,it's normal. and have loads of skin to skin contact. That will encourage/ regulate milk flow. There's also that fenugreek tea which helps milk production. With regards to pain nips, maybe it is blocked. Not sure what the remedy for that is, perhaps other posters can help. Good luck S edited by shjbelle on 10/05/2012

I didn't. I fall into the category of 'not mixing around'. I went twice. 1st time, I had the pres villa (upgraded comp) and 2nd time i went i had the water stilts before moving to the one whr i had my own pool. I did regret not going to any of the rides, but hey, i was the only one on the island without a tan line ;)

Irooni - yes. it's on the ingredients list. AD - the truly healthy option is to make your own chicken stock. and you can freeze small portions to use it.

Urban Decay Primer potion for eyelids is the bestselling primer for eyelids worldwide. I bought it recently and now know what the hype is all about. Its really fantastic! where do you get it from?

I was sitting next to a woman on an EK flight in business class (dh's company buy the tickets, not that I am trying to qualify this of course).. Anyway, she spent the entire time using her bare feet to change the channels, stretching out her toes to press the right button on the Telly! I didn't say anything, but tutted quite a lot and she got the message! ok, that is major laziness or plain stupidity. lol

WB, good luck to you too. I'm sorry to be blunt but if your doctor is not answering your doubts, you need someone who can answer everything and make you feel safe and good about the decisions that you are going to take. Hope you won't have to be on bed rest all though out your pregnancy! S

Shjbelle.... Doesn't matter what your religion is, it's illegal to be pregnant out of wedlock here. So even if your married by the time you deliver, if the dates don't add up, she could find it difficult to register the birth. Which means no birth certificate, therefore no passport to travel with your baby. oh. I didn't know that. I thought it would only affect muslims. Thanks for the info.

I'm sorry to hear you are experiencing this atm. I'm no medical person but maybe she is hoping that your cervix will close on it's on naturally? The stitches, i know will help during this pregnancy and so you will have to be on bed rest for the rest of your pregnancy. if you are unsure, why don't you go for a 2nd opinion? who is your gynae? I'd recommend Dr Andrea. She has her own clinic on al wasl road, do a search here for her address. Reason I recommend her is she won't do any unnecessary procedures just to get more money but she will do what is best for you both and your bub. Good luck.

Right, my answer will probably create controversy, but here goes, your friend will just have to list on paper that she is a non muslim and so the kids will be registered as non muslim. No one really has to know, as i'm sure your friend will not put up a sign in front of her house saying that she's a non muslim. With regards to her name, look at some of the christian arabs with muslim/arabic names. if she can come in with her married, as in she takes her husbands surname, it will not be so obvious. after all, it all depends on her and God what she practices.

Grew up on thai rice and this is the trick :) after the third wash, level the rice in the pot and measure with your finger, without water. that's the exact level of water you measure from the top of rice, if that makes sense.

I'm not sure if I'm reading between the lines here, but are you directly asking your husband to look after DD so you can get some me time or "waiting" for him to volunteer? Some guys are very dense and need to be told (my BIL is one of them) "Honey, I'm going to Zumba Saturday morning at x o'clock - DD usually has a snack at x30 and likes to play abcxyz, I should be back at whenever o'clock. Thanks hon" If he says he needs his weekend to relax - tell him he can relax with DD - she loves being with her Dad. I have tried the direct approach and explaining how I feel in general. I'm usually met with the "I work all week" or blank expressions. sorry, but does he think that you don't 'work' all week too? There shouldn't be any excuse now that your LO is already 1. Then tell him, there are 2 days in the weekend. He takes one and you take one. Fair ?
