I feel jealous (guilt trip am a full time working mum) at times because all the staff know him so well and take great care.. He spends more time with them n loves it.

Hi Sunny Sky, Regent would not have offered your son a place at their school if they didn't feel he was ready for it! I'm also pretty sure that if you put him in nursery this year, with the intention of enrolling him in FS1 in the 2015-2016 Academic year, they won't consider him in 2015-2016 because he aged for FS2. My niece goes to Regent and her parents see the teacher every day at drop off and pick up and there are only 15 children in her class!!

Dear Lalalayla, The only reason that JVC is cheaper than Springs is because it is a new area and not quite established as yet! Once the facilities and shops have been put in place, the property prices are sure to soar - as they are all over Dubai! I live in the Springs and it only takes me just over 5 minutes to reach Regent International School. Friends of ours live in JVC, and it takes them under 10minutes - access to and from the area is not bad at all. I hope this helps! :)

Hi Corinnad, the link provided by "Gentle" is correct in that Dubai has not yet been affected by the new age restriction - my husband is a teacher. Getting to understand how the schools work here in Dubai is very confusing, because there are so many different types of schools!! As far as I know, Raffles International is a 12-year curriculum, whereas Regent follows the UK Curriculum of 13 years. So KG1 in Raffles would be equal to FS2 in Regent. If your daughter's birthday is in July 2010, then as per the UK Curriculum, she is age-appropriate for Foundation 2 in September 2014 (or KG1 in Raffles). If you are looking for a good quality British education, I would suggest Regent over Raffles for sure.

Hey Lisylou12, There are a lot of new schools opening up around Dubai, and the problem with this is that you just don't know what you are going to get! It's best to review the schools rating as per the KHDA: Stick with schools which have received consistent ratings over the years or shown improvements. I live in the Greens, and I have watched Regent grow and develop over the years. My friends kids rave about the school! I'm hoping my little one will join when she is old enough next year!!

Hi desperatemom77 and SafferDXB, I agree with linda.evans - Regent is a great school! I understand the construction next door will be completed mid-2014. So far all the major foundations have been completed, so there is no more heavy drilling etc (this all happened during summer 2012) - so the noise isn't bad in the classrooms. It is just such a pity that the school lost one of it's sports fields because of this, but they have made up for it with their rooftop recreation areas. The classes aren't crowded - they are strict as to how many they have per class, and they have lots of buses covering most of the Dubai area - I see them on the roads every morning. SafferDXB - I take it from your name that you are from South Africa? There are lots of SA families at Regent - so you would definitely have heaps of support! Good luck - I hope everything works out! :-)

With the completion of Regent's extensions, we were also offered a place in Foundation. We were so happy that this UK Curriculum school could offer us a place for our child. This was our first choice school after all the school-searches, and were delighted when we received the offer letter. Their Foundation Stage is fantastic!

Hey Malilu! TribeFit is in Dubai Marina. They have TRX AND bootcamp! It’s really cool cause the trainers are so hands-on, they are the best. They usually have the classes in the evening which is really convenient for working people like me. Best part is you can join a class no matter what your fitness level is. Hope this helps! Good luck!

Lucky that Regent offered you seats! I had to try so hard to get a seat for my son in Yr 1. One seat came up last minute and I grabbed it. My friend wasn't so lucky. It is close to where I live and I see such happy children walking in and out of school everyday. I am so happy with the school myself, now that my son is there for 2 years. I don't know of any other school that updates parents everyday about the child's day in school. Regent does.
