At most pharmacies, although a dermatologist told me it's more chemicals in high screen SPF.

I try to be a smart shopper. I don't wait to buy cleaning products when they run out, instead I buy them when they are on offer, the same goes for staples. Fruit and vegetables are cheap in Hyper Panda. They even sell organic for less than any other shop I have seen. Spinneys is good on Market days, their produce is of good quality, but too expensive for buying everything. I don't find Coop that cheap, I think Carrefour got better offers. The fish market in Umm Suqeim harbour is good.

The Dubai British School in Jumeirah Park looks promising, the management is from Horizon school, which have an outstanding rating. Facilities are out of this world, I think it will be a competitor to North Anglia.

Also the ticket (airfare) home and medical insurance. Yes, but that's normal, everyone should pay that.

On top of what you normally would have paid; pay her cost for accommodation and travel. That's all really. 3,000 dhs + approximately seems to be kind of normal for live out; all inclusive.

JPS has much larger class sizes than Repton. Repton gained an 'Outstanding' rating in the recent round of inspections. Not sure about JPS. Both are good schools. JPS has been outstanding for years, but I feel there is something lacking. What about Nord Anglia or the new DBS in Jumeirah Park?

She might be better off going to a nursery summer camp.

Of course you have to lock, there isn't any place that is 100 % safe, as someone else said you never know if there is an opportunist around.

Exactly Preethihappy, no one wants a tragedy! Bottom line is if people take their children to the water park they must be constantly under their supervision, the Lifeguards are not there to babysit. Can you imagine the uproar if they had gone in to help these children and someone else had drowned while they were doing so. I feel for these Lifeguards, damned if they do and damned if they don't. Yeah, I dont really want to see anyone fired either. I was just shocked that they were standing there watching too. I will leave it, wished I had found the parents and said something. Perhaps they are not allowed to. I know it doesn't make it right but if that is "company policy" ( Hate that word) then so be it Did the boys not have the inflatable floats with them? and as others have said where were the parents. Who would leave their child unattended at a waterpark I think the lifeguards at Atlantis are well trained and not aloud to interact if someone struggle a bit in the rapids for example, some do it for fun going against the stream. If they interact with minor things, they might miss a real accident.

It's fine working as a makeup artist if you are here with a partner that has a main income. I know someone that was successful in the UK here and do get a fair bit of jobs here too, but the income would never be enough for her to even rent a studio in a decent area plus all your regular outgoings.

A maid agency would work out cheaper and would probably be fine for your friends needs. Home Maids got a minimum of 3h in some areas and minimum 4 h in others.

Park Hyatt afternoon tea is good and the price is reasonable.

Again why is it your business? Why do you need to ask? She was probably thinking the same. I'd be telling you to mind your own business. I did NOT ask about anybody else!! I simply said "she (referring to my own daughter!) needs to have a ticket?" You would basically defend anybody that isn't me, regardless of what they did, isn't that right, based on every reply you've ever given in response to anything I've written. Useless argument here. Cherpie; don't waste your energy, some people here get offended or defensive far too easily when it comes to local custom and religion. Or can turn anything into those arguments. I crossed that place off my list for outings this summer, based on your experience.

At last after 4 months I bit the bullet and went along to the coffee morning at Emirates Golf Course, I had a lovely welcome from Helga, I so wish I had done it sooner. The girls I spoke to were all really nice and invited me along to a regular monthly night out through expat forum, it was lovely to have some girly conversation and I'm looking forward to having a chilled wine like I would have done with my friends in Scotland. I had a lovely time, only sorry I had to leave a bit early to go back to work! Thanks everyone for making me feel really welcome, I left with a spring in my step :-) See you all soon E Is this the admin doing the "recommending a fantastic dentist trick"?
