I wanted a new ring in a different style and with a bigger stone, since the one I want to exchange is a solitaire. I was hoping another shop might be able to assess the diamond and give me a quote so I can make an exchange at the same shop. I have tried gold souk, everyone recommended I take it to damas. 18 k gold today is approx. 114 dhs/gram. Factor around 2 grams for the pendant + the making price, maybe 200 dhs, that leads to no less than 400 dhs, if you don't need the chain. For each slab: G-green, Y-yellow, O-orange and R-red is a different tariff, increasing from G to R, for both water and electricity. Each slab has a consumption limit, so, as I answered, the more you use, the more you pay. Guess it is done to encourage people to consume less...eventually.

I had a problem with my frangipani as well, lost ALL the leaves on one unti it was just bare trunk and now is all back and better than before! I heard that the washing liquid and water works but other than that...ask at the plant souk, they are always helpfu land can give you good advice!

OP, as I said, I have a Samsung slate: fabulous touch screen, light, good processor ( I run a CAD software on it!!), good video card! I can't say much about other Windows tablets but you should try Samsung and Microsoft Surface ones and see which one suits your purpose. But I would go for Samsung, pricier but worth!

Yup same, I had put 12345 as the PO Box number lol, it just got sent back to the shipper, I checked at Rashidiya etc but I had gone too late to check :( Just go to Rashidiya to check, there were other people checking too and one person was lucky enough that their package was still there My package was there but...I didn't get it :( :( They wouldn't give it to you? Nope! Is a huge facility and they wouldn't be bothered to look for it with the AWB number! Was my fault anyway not to ask the sender to put PO Box number. Should have known better!

My sister in law recently sent a package from the US. Was supposed to be through Fed Ex but there was a mix up and it has been sent via USPS. The problem is there was no PO Box number only my office address. Will I get a call from Emirates Post when it arrives or will I never hear anything or receive the parcel? Oh, you will not get it! At least I didn't get it when there was no PO Box, I went everywhere, including the office in Rashidyia where the parcels are! Even though I had the AWB number, no way without the PO Box!

I think it might be down to a new setting on Facebook - the videos on there now auto-play. I was having big problems with my battery life also - having to charge it 3 times a day and battery dieing over night even when not in use. Turned off the video auto-play setting yesterday and my battery has been fine since. Don't let your apps do any "auto"thingy: auto update, download or play!! This way they won't "eat" your data and battery!

Dubai is far safer than many other big cities I have been/lived in! Staring is something you just get used to, is less annoying than whistling/comments you get in other places. But it doesn't men you should put yourself in places/situation you wouldn't put yourself in other big city! So, safe as long as you follow the rules and keep yourself out of trouble! But definitely SAFER than other major cities!

Also check the if any of the apps uses data in background (Whatsapp used all my data in one night!!!) And now all data packages at Etisalat have data limits! Even the Blackberry "Unlimited"is limited to 4 gb!! So I was told at one of their centers. <em>edited by simoralu44 on 01/06/2014</em>

What have you done? I can't go away for a holiday without something happening am in the grace period of my registration and i dont want to renew until end of isurance period.... am being tight. Nobody will stop you during the grace period of the registration!! Go and drive, is called grace period for a reason :) :) You'll have to pay something extra though when you register, don't remember how much . Just read this article and states very clear few things: "In response to a tweet that complained of a landlord not following the rental index, Marwan bin Ghalita, the CEO of Rera, said: “The law is clear in the increase issue, they can submit complaint to us... we will assist them in the matter.” Also: "Ghalita, in another tweet, stated: “If a landlord wants the property for his own use, he should give the tenant 12 month notice and the property cannot be rented for two years.” and "Rera CEO said that once the dispute settlement centre issues an order, Rera will lock the unit on Ejari system so it can’t be rented for two years. Besides, the former tenant will have right for a claim and the first right to move back. So pretty clear!!!

As someone that had manufactured clothes in the past, I can say tha H&M always was a size up but of late they are 2 sizes. Wallis is at the other end (or was) is one size down :) Anyway I'm not bothered by it if the clothes fit, I'm not wearing them with the label outside for the size to be seen. :) :)

Thanks You have to stroll on the main walk and look on both sides, think is F area, not sure, I don't look at, just at the windows :) :) Got 2, one in green, sheer, ankle length with a thin belt, for 45 dhs and a red cotton one with an interesting tie-dye print with 25 dhs! They look very nice, not gaudy at all and suitable for beach, stay at home or a stroll (with leggings and tee under the sheer one ) :) <em>edited by simoralu44 on 10/05/2014</em>

Just been to DM Thursday morning and saw lovely ones, really lovely colours in sheer fabric, long ones and knee length. They were sheer ones in chiffon or the ones in cotton. As for styles, kaftans don't come in that many styles, don't they?!?! The prices ranges from 35 dhs to 300 dhs (those being the very elegant, embroidered and "blinged " ones) :) :) I would give it a try anyway if I were you, gaudy styles or not, is up to you to choose :) :)

AR and Silicon Oasis are far pricier than Mirdif, as far as I know! As for the call for prayer (why on earth would someone call it shouting, I don't get it!!) if it is really too loud, can be discussed with the local imam the issue. We live in between 5 mosques I guess and really doesn't bother us at all. As for the plane noise, you get used to it quite easy. Living for the last 8 years on this side of Dubai and would never leave!!

Hi, you can buy all kind of kaftans and kaftan type dresses, sheer, silky, cotton fabric, embroidered or simple, in Dragon Mart. Prices are great and choice wide! But DO NOT GO there during week-end!!! Too crowded :) :)
