Anyone who is convinced this could never happen to them should read this - http://www.parenting.com/article/tragedy-in-the-backseat-hot-car-deaths?page=0%2C1 Unfortunately it happens although shouldn't!! And because happened, doesn't make it excusable!! Sorry, for me is unthinkable! When such "mistake" leads to the death of a little one fully depenfing on his parents, NO, is NOT EXCUSABLE!

So let me get this straight: they wne shopping, then returned home, picked up the shopping bags from the car and forget their son in it. For 3 HOURS!!! Really?? Sorry, this is something I cannot understand or find an excuse for it!! No matter how busy and hectic you are, you cannot FORGET your child in the car!! Is a huge difference between overheating the milk or nipping a finger and leaving your child FOR 3 HOURS in an overheated car in the garage! Is criminal negligence NOT a "small mistake"!!

Same sort of parents like the woman I saw yesterday driving with a toddler in her arms ahile the maid was on the back seat!! Sad but so often seen here. These parents should be punished and not left alone because they're grieveing! I might sound too harsh but when it comes to children I can't contain myself. RIP little one!

For a small house/villa within your budget Rashidyia and Mirdif would be perfect. From there is a good drive to the airport, incl to Terminal 2. Check www.dubizzle.com and haggle with the agents.

I'm a Du pre-paid user as well and when you re-charge Du sends you sms that your account was re-charged with xxxx amount and credit is valid for 39 days! Maybe you just deleted the message before reading it. When I buy the scratch cards, it is written on them how to re-charge and what are the terms. If you buy just the printed voucher, the options are not explained, just how to charge. I'm afraind is nothing you can do now.

Maybe you were unlucky! What I said is not from my own experience, but was related to me by a friend who seems is doing this. I prefer to pay my bills in time, and when I don't have the bill, I check online or at the Emirates ATM.

Actually DEWA also has a "pain limit", if you're under, you don't need to pay in full :D Is something like the equivalent of 3 mts or 2500 AED, so to say.

Online banking is an option. Then the other option is at ANY Emirates NBD ATM that takes cash, you only need your DEWA account number and follow the on screen instructions. No need for Emirates card. With the DEWA account number you'll get the balance to pay and you pay as much as you want or in full. Good luck.

TBH, except maybe AlBarari, every development has flaws in construction. The fact that doors and windows don't seal properly or that insulation is not proper is something common! Sand can be a nuisance while rain..well, not too much of that here! The floor plans are quite generous and the size is good, actually one of the nicest one around. We looked ointo it 2 yrs ago when we wanted to move there but we decided that we don't want a gated community. Best is to look here on the ground! Everything ca be fixed and changed...depends what you're looking for. Unless you buld it yourself...and even then, nothing is perfect. Good luck!

Best in my opinion is www.godaddy.com. You buy the domain there (aka the name you want) with various configurations for a fee around 15 USD/year. Domain comes with a starter web page and 1gb email address that you name the way you want : yourchoicofemailname@yourchoiceofdomainname. If later in time you wanna buid your own website you can host it at Godaddy itself or at www.hostgator.com. I recommended those 2 as are the most known and reliable and I have a very good personal experience with them for some years now.

Waaaay too much for a "Babrbie" tiny 2 B/R! No matter the view and the flooring and new kitchen, waaaay too much! Greedy agents are the ones usually pushing the prices up, sometimes LL's have no idea! Keep looking, this "boost" in prices is artificial, IMHO, as so many villas are empty and available!

Understood, and thanks again x[/quot e'> Any time! I've been where yo are and DH was not here,so went there by myself! Dress respectfully, be firm but use the fact that you are a woman inditress and they will double happy to help! They absolutely hate at RC when women are harrassed by unscrupulous LLs/Agents. Definitely report the agent!! And if the "would be" LL doesn't stop harrassing you, report to the police and RERA (you said they flip properties)!

RERA is an arm of the Land Department while RC is under Dubai Municipality. They even help in the case your contract is NOT registered. I know why many use RERA instead of RC but is wrong and confusing! And for newcomers is even worse as they have no clue which is which and end up knocking at the wrong door. I didn't mean to sound harsh but ... This has been long discussed and yet the same confusion occurs. I posted it at the did you know thread as well. They are very helpful at the RC and if you go there as a woman and expose your case, especially in the OP's case, they will take a stand against the "would be" LL!! And the agent should be reported to RERA (correct this time!) edited by simoralu44 on 28/05/2013

RERA is responsible for regulating the real estate sector, helping in formulating sector’s strategies, regulating the activities of companies that manage residential compounds, as well as the activities of real estate brokers and the Owners Associations. The Agency also issues the rules and regulations that qualify activities of brokerage, lease contract registration and certification, as well as issues license for real estate development entities. http://www.dubailand.gov.ae/english/about_us/about_rera.aspx IT HAS NO ROLE IN MEDIATING rental disputes!!! If either tenant or landlord has a dispute over rent, which cannot be negotiated themselves, the legal option is to bring the case to Dubai Municipality’s Rent Committee (DMRC). DMRC is authorized by Dubai Government for jurisdiction over the Courts in all rent related matters. Their decisions are final and binding and cannot be appealed at Dubai Courts. http://www.dubai.ae/en/Lists/HowToGuide/DispForm.aspx?ID=24 Admin, please make this sticky as it helps those with rental/LL issues! You don't need to open a case for a rental dispute, RC offers advice in these cases and the MEDIATE such disputes.

RERA has nothing to do with rental disputes, please do not confuse with Rental Committee which is the body that mediates and decides in these cases!!! Your landlord sent you a letter through Dubai Courts which will serve him, as first step, in open a case with the RC. You have to go there,RC, and present your situation and ask for advice. Open the case first, is better, but this will only give you year of peace. Maybe is better to move out now...but definitely only RC can help! BTW, eviction notice comes on offial papers, with Dubai Courts header and stamp and RC notice, stamped as well. I stress once again RENT COMMITTEE not RERA!! With 30 years driving experience all I can advise is: don't be afraid-fear makes thing worse. You get lost-so what, you'll find your way! Pay attention to other drivers (traffic drifters), don't let yourself bullied by them and be confident. Traffic here is not horrendous, reckless drivers are easy to spot and we have wonderful roads. Go out there girl...with confidence.

Depending on the facials. If we talk about the ones where the beautician just applies hydrating masks and makes a massage, then no. But I swear by paraffin facial-for dehydrated and aged skin and also for the caviar facial, with micro-lifting effect. At these you see the difference before and after. And those facials are done in a sequence and the effect lasts for weeks. For the rest I just use a range of dermato-cosmetics special for skin 40+ (I brought these from home) and for usual home facials with honey, coc0nut oil, clay masks and exfoliating masks.

TDB, while you (not you but generic you) consider to be a dream customer, you"re every banks " nightmare" : you have no debts!! You pay your cards in time, you save, little expenses...hence they cannot make money from you.Credit scoring is all about profit not risk. You're a " good " risk and you can be rejected for that because you won't make money for the bank. No, I'm not working for a bank, never had :)

How short? You should not miss Rotterdam and Schiedam-place of the largest windmills in the world and Kinderdijk for the mills. To see, apart of the now world know Red light district, is Rijkmuseum, Van Gogh museum ... but all depends how long you'll be there. Check this http://www.timeout.com/amsterdam/features/7/20-great-things-to-do-in-amsterdam After watching a program and reading a book about a girl who was forced to work in the red light district i would avoid that place like the plague!!! Most women there are trafficked and the police are aware of this. It is disgusting!!!!! And here I'm slapped again. She asked I answered, nothing more. Red Light district exists, we like it or not, and is part of Amsterdam, same as the coffee shops. It doesn't mean I condone either. edited by simoralu44 on 20/05/2013

You need a nol card for the bus. I'm pretty sure you can buy the nol cards from spinneys and Carrefour - not sure about Geant. I'm almost 99% sure tat you can't buy tickets. You swipe your nol card when you get on and off the bus, hth yes, no tickets on the bus. You need either a NOL card or one of the tickets you buy at the metro. C4 charges the NOL cards, don't know about selling them.

If it is precious metal jewellery it will be difficult, as none of the known ones accepts it. By known I mean DHL, Aramex and the likes. If it is custom made jewellery, non-precious metal, give it a try to Emirates post, used them and I was very pleased with the service.

Too awful for words. RIP Roxy. Sorry we weren't able to save you but hopefully we can try spread the word and get a real, enforceable animal anti-cruelty law where the people who carry out these actions will actually pay for their sick deeds. Dubai may have the most expensive police cars, the highest building, the biggest mall YET its track record of animal welfare is one of the most shocking.... I despair at times. I am not debating or contradicting your post, but I thought Roxy"s tragic death happened in Sharjah. edited by simoralu44 on 20/05/2013
