It may sounds weird to you but I have lost weight by fasting ( intermittent fasting). For me it worked like a magic. One month and I am one stone down. I don't STARAVE , I just eat healthy enough but after gap of 20-24 hours. Whole day I am drinking water, lemon water, green tea or black coffee. I do try to workout, run or walk 3 times a week. However, Most of my weight loss is from eating habits. I doing know what "diet" they call it, I don't eat rice, bread, anything made of starch or out of box/can/processed. so far, Life is good :-) edited by smartee on 30/09/2014 edited by smartee on 30/09/2014

I had bad job done by some dentist for my tooth filling. Due to chewing problem I went to see her again. During her efforts to "adjust" filling, she drilled it so deep that now I feel a "cave" inside teeth. Never mind, at least Its not giving me pain any more. I don't feel like going back to her to re-do it. Anyone can recommend someone not so expenssive for filling? Unfortunately, you do get what you pay for here which it what I learnt the hard way. Sometimes, its better to spend more initially so you dont spend more in the long run. I only will go to Dr Michael s in Umm Seqin now Well, that's not always true. I Paid a huge fee to get this "bad" job done. Previously,I have paid a lot less to get pain free, natural looking fillings.

How to stop public (those not on your friend list) from seeing your timeline, photos etc. When I use the option "View as Public" , it shows my timeline and photos as well. TIA Go to settings, in privacy option, set "who can see my posts" to friends only. There is also option to limit old posts to hide previous photos or posts.

I have the opposite problem, I really enjoy spending money lol! But seriously, if you are inherently a minimalist and it isn't that you have any problems with self value etc then be happy with it, and put your money to more noble uses. To me "stingy" or "cheap" is when you are happy for other people to spend their money on you and then do your best not to reciprocate, which is entirely different to what you describe. Well, I used to enjoy when I was younger. When I see around, 8 out of 10 individuals I know are under debt in Dubai. They are always in trouble financially. All work they do is to pay off installments of car, credit card or loans. Yet they are wasting money on unnecessary things. Banks here lure you by offering loans at attractive rates, and than you work for banks only. This situtation scare me to death. But really, why do I need to take a loan to pay rent, if I cannot afford it? Why don't I live in a smaller, affordable place which might not be up to my standards but that won't give me financial burden either?

Nothing wrong with enjoying life and being satisfied without, brunches, designer clothes and spa treatments, there really are more important things in life. And some of your friends might be a bit jealous that you are not blowing your budget every month, like some might do. What worries me is that you say -I don't feel happy spending on myself. May be I should have said,"I don't feel happy spending money on my self this way (brunches, salon trips etc). Jealous, yes they may be :-p because I am more stable finance wise and I don't whine about credit card bills or bank loans :-P. I am just like you, hate spending money on brunches and salons and things, but what I hate even more is having to bail out my family and friends regularly because they have spent their money on frivolous things ... I can very much relate to it. I hate it so much. You enjoy ride on luxury car (leased from bank), you show off branded cloths/bags (bought with credit card), you enjoy expensive hotel stays (again credit card), mock me for not doing all these acitivities, but just before leaving my house, you ask me to lend you some money, because you are in financial trouble. Thank you beach, but no thanks.

I don't think it's unusual to prefer to spend your money on others, especially children..We don't brunch every week or wear designer stuff and I've never been to a salon here apart from to have my hair done... Hi DT, Thank you for support :-D May be I am socializing with wrong people. Not wasting money is a taboo for them. By any means, I would never have that heart to throw 500 AED for a brunch. :-/ I don't have kids, I feel happy to buy something for my hubby or my immediate family. Or on my self when all my cloths or shies are not wearable any more. I am glad to know, its not that bad to be Stingy :-D

Check DIB Barsha mall branch. They mostly have lockers available and rental is 750 dhs per year. Its such a relief to have all valuable items in bank locker. I won't go for safety deposit at home.

I bank with DIB and very happy. I also have locker in Al Barsha mall branch. They offer lowest rate for locker. Recently during my overseas trip, I had some issue. They called me and fixed my issue. Never thought some bank will do international calls for clients.

Hi Smartee, I went to Nikki Salon in Discovery Gardens. To clarify this is for a Brazilian keratin straightening treatment...Brazilian blow out is a different brand of product--but almost sure we mean the same thing. Nikki offers True Keratin (organic and gentler) and Brazilian Cacau. They suggested the latter for me. I think both are the same price. To give you an idea, I have wavy hair that is kinky is some places but not tight curls all over. The treatment left my hair pin straight, which relaxed after a week, to a much nicer version of my own waves. I didn't start.getting a hint of frizz until 10 weeks post treatment. I bought the Tru Keratin Shampoo and Conditioner to maintain it, and let me say, that stuff is amazing! I don't think I will ever buy Kerastase again, even if I discontinue these treatments. Hope this helps Thank you but I am looking for brazilian blow out.I never liked any of keratin treatment. Seems fair to call salon and check what product they are using. I have read good reviews about them everywhere. I hope they will be using original products anyway.

I suggest calling the salon and just asking which products they use. Where I get my hair cut, they charge 2000 dhs and up, so I checked for groupon deals. I called different salons, and they told me which kind of product they use. After researching the products, I booked a treatment and am very, very pleased with the results. The gals were skilled and super friendly. (not always the case!) The groupon voucher + "long hair" charge came to 350 dhs. Next time I go back, they said it will only be 800 dhs. So the price does not exactly mean the product is garbage. It may have more to do with the salon overhead. (Salaries, rent, etc). Hi Beebers, where did you get it done? Which salon? edited by smartee on 13/08/2014

I had very small cavities in 6 teeth and thought of doing filling as advised in my last visit to dentist. On Sunday I got 4 fillings done. I was not told if I will feel any discomfort or pain. Since that day, I am having severe sensitivity in all the cavity filled teeth. I can't chew on that side at all neither can eat anything cold. I had an other appointment for filling on the other side but I canceled that due to this pain. When I asked the dentist, she said Its not normal & I might need to do root canal because its due to deep cavity. I highly doubt that she grinded my teeth too deep. She didn't bother even checking my teeth again. Advising root canal, Its such a rubbish, I didn't have pain at all or sensitivity in any of my teeth earlier to fillings. I don't know what to do as eid holidays are coming and clinic will be closed for 4 days. I am trying to speak to dentist and she is no more answering my phone. I am so angry. I have paid huge amount to get this done. Is there any place where I can make a complaint for them? I had a similar situation last year and i got compensated by the doctor after filing a case, you can contact Dubai Health authority Customer Care, Hotline Service : 800342 Good luck ! Make sure you keep all documents safe (receipts and prescriptions (if applicable)) What compensation did you get? I m so depressed to think I"ve lost my natural teeth. edited by smartee on 25/07/2014

Hi Sophia, I know someone looking to sell salon business with great reputation and income. Have you decided your budget and location? If you can leave your contact details here, I can forward it to her. edited by smartee on 22/07/2014
