Lella, TCG is part of Taleem group so I'll consider primary school within Taleem group most likely in a couple of years. I might as well consider french schools which have space for French citizens but really want an international education... She will be in TCG for another 3 school years from September so I'll give myself another year before I start planning for primary school:-) how did it go with TCG? keep me posted I hope it works out for you

Thanks to the ones who had valuable and helpful input! Really appreciate it. The school doesn't offer after school care which is why I'm stuck Hamar: yes I can afford a european nanny, I work because I want to and I love my job and I like having my financial independance rather than relying on my husband. It's actually none of your business whatsoever why I make the decisions I make. I am not planning on hiring anyone illegally just trying to understand how working mums manage if some have other solutions than the usual maid/nanny type thing.

Hi Lella the teachers are from various nationalities it seems. The languages are english, french and arabic. At my daughter's level they only speak to them in english but a few have picked up that she speaks french too and address to her in french as well. I think they would probably help him integrate or at least it's the feeling I get after the first week. They seem to have a soft approach and I have seen chidren of all origins and various languages have a chat with the head teacher or schoold admission lady and see. I love this school and like their approach and some of our friends have their kids there as well and swear by it too.... let me know how you get on

they should all be registered. your best bet is netmums.com and go in childcare you'll see your options. you may want to consider a childminder or a nursery. Beware to check they are fully registered and to show you their OFSTED

I was the same we just moved and I wanted a bilingual school. TCG is excellent and they have 3 pre-schools accross Dubai. Al Barsha one is the most recent open just in sept 12 which is why they still have a few places I think. Got my son already signed in for September. they take children from 2 years old. they are also part of a group which has international schools for up to baccalaureate so if we stay here I think the kids can just integrate another school of the group easily I believe.... good luck

I agree 2 hours is not enough - I'm thinking 3 or 4 or maybe 2h twice a week the company was aqua cleaning.... I'll look on the thread thanks and thanks for the info on price as well. If anyone uses a good company charging a normal rate thanks for letting me know please

mks it's called little hands kids club. I don't think I would settle for it long term but they look after the children well and it's a very good environment for children Trixie, my 3 years old daughter goes to TCG The Children Garden Al Barsha, 10 min drive but very good pre-school/nursery and they still have space I think. There are other nurseries, for ex in the Springs/Meadows you have the Raffles or something like that and looks very good.

thank you so much for that! We have now found something in knowledge village where my husband will work and it's decent enough for the 4 to 6 months he;ll spend there before starting pre-school in September.... Thanks Sonia

tried a few but haven't tried JLT as I thought it was too far away. Is it reasonnable to drop off children from The Springs to JLT everyday? there's a brand new nursery there I think that looks fab if it's not too much of a drive really I'm looking at Dubai Internet City and Dubai Media City as well as this is where my husband will work. I still am looking for a job so it's even more complicated because I don't know yet where I will work.... I would have thought there were babies nurseries in The Greens or The Springs but seems more complicated than I thought. It's only for 6 months as well because he'll start pre-school at Al Barsha in September.... will look into Knowledge village..... thanks a lot

Hi, we're moving to Dubai in April and I still can't seem to find a nursery for my 14 months old son. We should be living either in the Greens or The Springs and all the nurseries I have found or contacted seem to only start at 18 months old or to be too far away. Can someone recommend nurseries taking that age toddlers around the Springs, the Lakes, The Meadows, Emirate Hills really please?? Otherwise around Al Barsha: our daughter will start pre-school at The Children Garden in Al Barsha 3 so anywhere close to that would work as well. Thank you all so much for your help Sonia
