The banks can and will chase her for credit card dept. If she pays the minimum every month still she should be ok. If the bank cash her security cheque and it bounces they will put a police case against her. If she resigns and her final pay is put into her account they will collect the outstanding amount from her final pay and then hold what her limit is for 45 days to make sure there were no other purchases on the card that haven't been debited yet.

Happy Anniversary! I am from new york city go back 6 times a year and stay in hotels and have fairly up to date information on most of them, what is your budget? I would like to be of help! For a start, a very good option that is reasonable and away from the touristy areas along the river on the upper east side is The Bentley hotel. Great looking design hotel, the rooms are large, not full service amenities, but if you want to feel like a real native stay there away from times square, midtown and all the craziness. You can easily get to the craziness in a 10 min cab ride! We stayed at the Bentley a few years ago and loved it. Not far at all to walk to the attractions but away from all the tourists. The Famous Serendipity cafe is near there and worth a try :)

You will hear good and bad stories from every hospital here, personally I know people who have had tragic disasters at AH so I would never go there. Lots of people however love it and have had good experiences. If you're happy with your doctor and service then don't bother changing.

Coming on SZrd from AD/New Dubai area: Exit at interchange 3 Al Manara, it's the next interchange after the Garden Centre Exit. Drive straight as if going back onto SZrd keep to your right hand lane and take the service rd exit on your right, don't go up the off ramp to al manara though drive past this and take the service rd. It's a couple buildings down can't miss it. I think there is a metro station in front of it. Can't help on prices as bought ours two years ago but if you call they give you the info on the phone. Ours was the top of the range 3L with dvd player and leather seats 1 year insurance, 50,000km/2 years service was 112,900 friends bought the 3.8L top of the range for 121k. <em>edited by starsouthern on 26/05/2011</em>

thank you ladies for answer. where can I find a police station near Arabian Ranches and does DH has to go there or can I go there by myself also because I was told women are not welcome and police men will not speak to women? DH is very busy at job and I'm SAHM so would like to go there. TIA If the cheque is in your husbands name and from his account then he will have to go in person. I also thought you could only stop a lost cheque but things change here all the time. He would have to go to the Bur Dubai Police station near immigration by Trade Centre round about. <em>edited by starsouthern on 19/05/2011</em>

Hi Starsouthern, I'm doing well thanks! Just can't wait to meet the little girl behind the bump!! The DVT was in my pelvic area which went down my left leg. It started as a pain (in pelvis and upper leg) which I thought that I had originally pulled a muscle in that area. I rested it for the day but it wasn't getting any better. The next day, I could hardly walk on it and my leg felt dead and numb. Again I kept off it as much as I could and by that evening my DH took me to the hospital. They primarily diagnosed it as a UTI after doing a urine test and started me on a course of antibodics. What we didn't notice (neither myself or the drs) was that my left leg had started to swell. When I got home and got undressed, I noticed that my calf and thigh was twice the size. I've never had a UTI before, but thought these symptons were rather off and extreme for that! Thinking that because I hadn't used it or elevated it much that day, didn't think of the seriousness of it! Kept it up all day, but by the afternoon it had swollen up even more and the pain was unbearable. As soon as my DH had finished work, I made him come straight home and take me back to the hospital. They admitted me with suspected DVT and started treatment that night (in case it was as I didn't the normal, straight-forward symptoms) and it was confirmed the next day via a scan. The DVT went from above my pelvis down to my knee with my lower leg about to attach to the clot, so almost my whole leg. I was admitted for 8 days too make sure that the clot would not move upwards towards the major organs. You would know from the pain and the swelling if you had one! But the care I received at Al Wasl was really good. We were most impressed. And the fact that they booked me in as well, as I was not registered at any hospital to give birth as I was going home the week that all this happened. We had to pay the Dhs5,000 for the antenatal (which we are using now of course!) and have appointments every week or so (either with the specialists or antenatal drs) but things are starting to look better. Babies heartbeat has now corrected itself! So now to concentrate on the birth plan... Hope things are going well for everyone You poor thing, you musr of been terrified! Glad all is good now. I had really good care at Al Wasl too, would've gone back if I could claim back on my insurance but no such luck :( am happy so far with MedCare though and my insurance will cover everything there.

I'm also due on the 14th June and going to deliver at Al Wasl! Was planning to go back to NZ for the delivery but ended up being admitted to Al Wasl with DVT last month (only a few days before I left!) But am actually very happy with the care that I received there. Baby also has an etopic heartbeat, so my seemingly easy pregnancy went from easy to high-risk overnight! This is our first, so not looking forward to the labour... but does anyone?! have had BH since 16 weeks but now I've noticed that they are getting stronger, more intense and frequent. Thought she could come the other night, but luckily the contractions started to ease off later in the night after they were coming all afternoon. Is anyone else as impatient as I am? I want to hurry up and meet this little person... But only another month to go.... Hey susznz just wondering how you're doing? How did you know you had DVT? Good luck with your delivery, I had great care at al wasl 2 years ago when I had my little girl there.

Keeping the same amount of scoops but adding more water to formula still dilutes it, which can mess up the bodies electrolytes and lead to water intoxication. Babies easpecially in the first 12 months need all the calories and nutrients in perfect balance, so mixing instructions on the back of the box should be followed exactly. What you’re doing by adding extra water is allowing water to occupy the space in the stomach that the milk or infant formula should be occupying so less nutrients for the baby. I would get a second opinion.

My DD just had a bout of that last night and we are back home already from the hospital... my question is what do I feed her for bedtime? My BM flow is not so much during the night as I usually feed her formula for her dreamfeed.. please help... TIA S Same as below little and often, don't give the full feed at bed time, just give about 60ml or so, she'll want more later but it's better not to give the whole bottle as she won't be able to hold it down. ok..thank you.. No worries hope your little one feels better soon.

I agree with kiwispiers it is very rare that babies are lactose intolerant and that the laxitives will also cause cramping. I would also go to another doctor for a second opinion as watering down formula even by one scoop can lead to malnutrition. Try changing the brand of formula you use, different brands have diffent amounts of fatty acids and added things in them that not all babies react well to. My two after trying everything out there were only happy with Nan, my son used to do what you described your little one does when he was on any other brand. My friend who had twins had one on S24 Gold and the other one on Cow and Gate because they both had problems with other brands. Sometimes it's trial and error until you find one that fits. Hope your little one gets better soon :)

We went to Asdo at the Palace Hotel last night and the food was fantastic. We asked for a table outside with a view of the fountain, the view of the Burj is fabulous, the fountain although you can see them you don't get the full effect as in some of the other reastaurants. Dinner and the view and ambience was fantastic.

Hello all! I just recently joined the boards since we will be moving to Dubai in the next few weeks. I am 24 weeks pregnant with my second, due June 29th. I also have a 4-yr-old daughter. I'm looking forward to meeting other moms with kids/babies close in ages. We're looking at villas in Arabian Ranches, the Villa, and a couple other places. Has everyone already registered at a hospital? That will be priority on my list of things to do upon arrival. Good luck to all, hope to meet some of you soon! I'm due on the 29th too :) We'll have to keep in touch to see who pops first! :) How old are your other kiddos? I'm 33 weeks today and going for my check up this am @ MedCare. Baby is lying low now and it's getting hot and uncomfortable! My other 2 are 7 years and 2.5 years old. Can't wait now!

TBO You don't actually need a doctor present at all during the birth. Both my babies were delivered here with midwives only, and if your doc isn't on duty you won't get her anyway. If you are not happy or comfortable with your doc then change. When giving birth to my first I told one of the midwives to leave and send someone in who was going to be helpful. You need to stick up for yourself. I had to deliver both my babies on my back because I had an epidural, no tearing, cutting or stitches baby no 1 was 9pounds. I am delivering baby no 3 at MedCare, and have asked for no epidural and was told by my doc that she thought I wouldn't be able to cope since I had an epidural with the other 2, I just smiled and said yes Dr what ever you say and am still not going to have an epidural. She probably won't be there on the day anyway. I have been assured by her though that they don't cut you unless absolutely necessary, she's also told me that I can deliver in any position that I feel comfortable in.

You can get very nice 4-5 bed villas in Falcon City and The Villa for 110k-160kp/y. I know it's not the area you were looking at living in but you get a lot more for your money. Also there are few houses in those areas that are furnished. If you can find the same size house in the areas you want to live in then you would be looking at paying 220k-350k.

Both my two wouldn't drink milk out of anything but a bottle until they were 2.5. I think it's not a big deal if they are good eaters and only drinking 1 or 2 a day. I think it becomes a problem if they are still on 6 a day. <em>edited by starsouthern on 28/04/2011</em>

Why not go to the atmosphere in Burj Khalifa, it's the bar/lounge on the 122nd floor? It's really nice, there is a aed 200 minimum spend per person. A glass of wine is around 70 aed, mocktails 45aed. They have snacks but expensive. I thought it was really worth it as you can sit and watch the lights go on in the city and just enjoy the view. You can also book for burj khalifa tickets online just google burj khalifa or at the top and they have a list of times and dates available @ the 100 aed price.

Hi ladies, thanks for the reply, we have been 6 nights now no wetting but for the two weeks she was wetting she managed to get a flu in the middle, so possibly it was the flu that knocked her around and then the wetting began. But she is on the mend and now she has been dry for 6 nights. also no she dosnt go to nursery. Thats why we couldnt figure out what it was. So im going to put it down to the flu and hope she gets back to normal. thanks again for your replies. Good, it's worrying when they change. Also it's probably a bit hotter now so she maybe taking in more liquids than a few months ago when she was dry at night.

I didn't stay at the Santa Fe Hotel, but friends of mine did. They said that is was OK, but there were really long lines for breakfast and the shuttle was always packed, and sometimes they had to wait to get onto one for 15-20 mins. The shuttle ride was about 10 mins for them. Also they said the breakfast food wasn't nice at all. I've stayed at the disney hotel, but before I stayed there I read a lot of reviews about it, so wasn't expecting much, it was really nice being close to the park, there were no queues at breakfast, and the characters came to the hotel which was great. It was about 4x the price of the other hotels though, but as we were only there a short time it was worth it. I've had two lots of friends who stayed at Santa Fe and had the same experience as above. They both said the breakfast food was terrible. We stayed at the Disney Hotel, had read reviews too. We loved it, and thought it was worth it too.

In a text message you need to write your plate number including the letter code, followed by a space and the zone number which is on the orange signs in the area that you park followed by a space and the amount of time you want max is 4 hours. Text it to 7275. You don't need to text parking space number just the zone. So if my number plate is letter code E number 45196 and I want to park in zone 334A for two hours then the text message to7275 would look like this. E45196 334A 2 Hope it helps :) <em>edited by starsouthern on 15/04/2011</em>

The SMA will be regular formula not hypoallergenic so you'll notice a difference quite quickly. My 2 could only drink normal Nan. With my son I went through every formula possible until he finally settled! It was a nightmare! My friend who has twins has both her babies on different formulas because the same one didn't suit them both! I wrongly assumed that if babies are being breast fed then the hypoallergenic formula is better for them so I was shocked too when my doc said no actually it's not it can cause them to develop sensitivities if they don't have any already. He also said to stay away from, Soya, lactose free and goat formula unless medically it's what a baby needs.

Shops in australia always round up and down, and that works fine with me, because one visit it rounds up another down it all evens out. It is basically stealing by not giving you back your change, and it may not make a huge difference to my pocket, but its the principle. The people at the till do not get to keep this money, it's the supermarkets that keep it, and as mentioned before it all adds up. Nimonemo, I see your point that it doesn't make a difference to your pocket personally, but really it's not OK, as you've mentioned yourself, shops like spinneys already charge a fortune for their products so why is it OK for them to then short change you when you check out? there's a really good saying, look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves....

Have you tried normal Nan? Are your babies allergic to normal formula that you have them on HA? NanHA is a hypoallergenic formula and my doc always said that to not give it unless kids have allergies that have been verified by blood test, otherwise it can cause more problems.

What's the end result of a labour with no pain relief? Your baby. What's the end result of a labour with an epidural or any other drugs you can lay your hands on? Your baby. You don't get a medal for doing it au naturel. Do whatever you need on the day and don't [i'>ever[/i'> let anyone make you feel bad about it. So true! Well said :)
