Luckily DH doesn't go away a lot (lucky for me as I can't sleep if he is not there :D ) but when he is away he calls at least a couple of times a day and we text all the time. Even when he is here we speak a few times a day and text a lot too. (Anyone want the bucket?) Please lol....

do you just want someone to take them off your hands? For a very nice donation, I am sure there could be one on here that COULD possibly help, or not. Most are cash strapped and foster home poor. Maybe in the meantime, you could tell the maid to keep her son from touching the kittens. How old are the kittens? new born, eyes open, eating from mom still or running in the garden? how long have they been there? Nope, his phone bills are company covered company related. There are internet cafes usually around somewhere. There are hot spots in most Star Bucks for a nominal fee and other places I am sure. the Concierge would be able to direct him. He can txt maybe not call, i used to only txt but now I can also call..have no idea why but my credit doesnt move much. GA I would also make sure you know what hotel he is staying in. Give him a ring when you need to...I think he eventually might find it easier to get the roaming :) rather than call you back on a public phone (HE CAN also buy cheap phone cards at most corner stores, pay something like 6 cents a minute) <em>edited by SueB on 31/03/2011</em>

So SueB it wouldn't bother you not to hear from him? I'm normally fine with it but it's become the standard now and on long trips it does make me wonder why he wouldn't want to get in touch... When i was away recently I really missed him and emailed at least once a day. Perhaps it's a man thing. Sue I think our husbands are in the same industry albeit in different roles, so you might understand me when I say i'm not thrilled with him spending all his time abroad going out with his workmates and seeming to forget about me..considering who his workmates are and what they look like generally lol :) gosh I think i'm too sensitive! oh GA, I see why the thread ;). No, it doesnt bother me now, first married and when he left the miliatry and started working with flight attendants...oh yeah lol....I was insecure and he didnt call often. I called him alot and ****** him if he wasnt in his room at midnight!! I would want to know exactly where he was lol... If he has a company phone the roaming is included as it is needed and it cannot be cancelled. Most phones now automatically have roaming. I get txts and phone calls from UAE when in Canada, I can also call and I dont pay for roaming now. As for the internet, most hotels have a business office now, which is very cheap to use the internet if there is even a charge. there also is free wifi so, he needs to smarten up a bit lol... anyway, I think you need to tell him how you feel and that you are a bit insecure and thats ok :). If it upsets you that he is away for awhile and is going out with the "colleagues', then, you have to tell him this. If he does not know he would think (or not even think) that it might bother you :) you have to tell him. BTW GA, they are not all gorgeous, especially without the makeup and the uniform...they look just like us, honest. Anyway, you are not to sensitive ;)...just have to be honest with him about how you feel and I am sure you will have a good talk and he will be more mindful of you when he goes away. It stopped bothering me years ago and if he calls now it is a surprise and the first thing out of my mouth is usually "what wrong!!!!????"lol... anyway, if you want to talk, tell me and I will give you my email :)

I would get a recommendation of particular maids that work for agencies. there must be people on here that have a fav agency babysitter? and yes, I would have an agency gal work for you part time so your child gets to know her..scary for the kiddo if he/she is left alone with a stranger ;(?

poor Caramel :(. Doesnt sound like he is able to take very good care of himself :(. Probably not always a street cat and doing the best he can. So glad he has you to watch his tail so to speak :). Get that pic up and I am sure your cats will get used to having a guest for a bit until he finds a home.

just make sure you are not disinfecting with bleach as it smells like amonia :)....you could try about 15 drops in a bucket of water of Tea Tree Oil :) if it is a submissive pee, then that is a totally different thing than peeing all over the house. <em>edited by SueB on 30/03/2011</em>

I always get good comments on my very short hair ;)....Louise at Style and Class London, at the Jewels, Dubai Mariana. hmmm well, get your lashes and eyebrows dyed that way you might only need a bit of eyeshadow :)...as for face, and if you are on the beach, tinted moisturizer if you like. I sure would not wear foundation i n the water. Cannot recommend any waterproof foundation that looks nice though. Why not do a google search? maybe not show the handstands you are famous for lol???? get a little fake tan on your face and blend neck shoulders and feather it out so no lines and dont forget the sides and back of neck :)....then you wont need foundation hence, no running of anything :)_

brokenheart, why not write the dreams down. Have paper beside the bed, write them then forget it. Sometimes if we fixate we miss the message the dream is giving us ;)..by writing what you remember you might figure out the message and it most likely has nothing to do with your teenage love other than that being a symbol. I have had some wild dreams that shocked me when I woke up lol....and I figured out what they were about and was able to fix it or at least acknowledge it ;0.....happy dreaming, it also could be your subconsious getting rid of old stuff as you might not need those anymore, sort of like clearing house when you are readylol. Who knows lol

when they put on the gel coats yes, 2 min but in the early stage my hand stayed under while she did the other, so my nails were under the light for quite a while. Did that make any sense at all? when she was finished with the next hand, she did the final 2 coats on the UV hand and back under it went. I dont think my hands were hanging around doing nothing most of the time. now, that just does not sound right but i KNOW WHAT i MEAN LOL...

I am not on atkins but Dukan ;)...instead of eggs have low fat/no fat yogurt and 3 oz of meat. Can you eat oatbran? have 1.5 tbls as porrage (made with water) with yogurt and cinimon on top. Anyway, that is just another alternate ;)

it should not peel or chip at all. I would go back to the salon and have them redo them. Sounds as if they did not leave your nails under the UV long enough.

My nephew is deaf. He is now 32 years old and does not belong to either the hearing world, nor the deaf world. His parents felt that he should be treated like a hearing child and not one who was deaf, so, along with the times, he did not learn sign language, nor did he have deaf friends. He can lip read, when he chooses and he trys to speak but it is difficult to understand him most of the time. I feel that a deaf child must have a community of people like him/herself. We all want to belong to people like us. If we make it a bad thing to sign and not belong to any deaf communities but hearing people do not understand their language, where will they fit it? Why is being deaf such an awful thing? is it because they are disabled? but they are not, they cannot hear with their ears but they can hear with their hands. If those that have the implant and the implant breaks down, and, they have no other way of communicating, then, they are cut off from both communities because they have nothing to fall back on. sign language should be taught to all children who are deaf. Sign language should not be made to be second class and those that sign should not be made to feel what they are oing is beneath them. We all must belong somewhere, to some community in order to thrive. In alot of ways the deaf are lucky, they have 2 communities they can belong to and can go back and forth. I do not disagree with cochlear but what I disagree with is the fact that the deaf are not learning their language and not being given the chance to at least enrich their lives in all ways, rather than only one. there are 3 vets in your area. Energetic Panacea, across and down from the main post office on Al Wasl. Al Safa Vets just past Al Manara rd..and Jumeriah Vet clinic on jB road. :) They will all check for a chip for you ...you dont have to take him to the Municipality.

I think you should call around to some of the vets and ask them what kind of discount they could give you for all the things that need doing. Most will definetly give a discount for 6 cats!!! hopefully you will have more boys than girls lol... shots/chips/vac are the same for all. Good luck.

You are a lovely gal js :).... Now, can the vet possibly give you the peoples name and previous address? It is possible that they moved and lost the cat? It used to be when you moved you had to get a new number. Just in the hopes this happened. If you had a name maybe you could google and find them. They cared enough to take him to a vet and chip him so they must have cared, I would think :(. In the meantime, why not take some picture of the poor fella and put a link to them here ...maybe someone will adopt him if only for a garden cat? who knows ;). He is happy I am sure to have you to take care of his bites and bits ;)...

hmmm. I like Dubai, I dont love it but she and I get on quite well for the most part :)..it took a while for our friendship to grow and it had some major bumps along the road but, she gave me sunshine hence no shoveling snow. She gave me great looking malls, hotels although I am not a great shopper and don't frequent the hotels much, they are lovely and CLEAN. There is lots to do here, you are spoiled for choice and you can choose to sit at home and grumble or get out and about. I guess we are unfortunate Canadians in that this is our 1st overseas job so we are not expecting much lol. but, we are well travelled in our years, have seen alot and Dubai is pretty good in comparison. They have laws we might not agree with but, this is not our country so suck it up. They do things differently here and things can get frustrating but..hey, I go back to Canada in the summer and it takes me awhile to get used to living in Grey and brown again, pokey drivers blah blah but....I get used to it somewhat and know we will find it hard going back home when we retire. So, all in all. Miss Dubai is alright. She is not perfect and suffers from a superiority complex now and then but she is trying hard to fit it with the world. She is young yet and has lots to do but, we like it here, not love it but sure like it alot.

you are supposed to break them in slowly as they are a negative heel along with other things/ starting with an hour a day and see how that goes then up the time. Your shoes should not hurt like that! There might be a problem if you are having bandaids all over your feet, that is not right. Stop wearing until your feet heel then start with short times and build up. You can expect a bit of discomfort in the 1st week but certainly not pain. If you find you are getting low back pain after a month, then these shoes are not for you....good luck :)

I wash my sheets and duvet covers then send them to the cleaners for ironing. i THINK I pay 14dhm for 1 or 2 duvet covers and 1 or 2 sheets ...I use the little guy around the corner.

the problem JS is they have given you the cats. You cant leave them the way they are&gt; are you comfortable having them put down rather than leaving them on the street to fend for themselves? The problem TJ is that they are outside and together so clearing it up might be impossible :(..they will keep reinfecting each other unless perfect hygiene is present :(. I would round them up and take them to a vet for another opinion of course and other suggestions. I know they can be boarded at a vets for the treatment but it will be about 1000dhm per cat (I might have that wrong, could be less). If the cats cannot get treated they will get very sick. If they are young enough to rehome and friendly it might be possible but, i doubt it and knowing they have ringworm and trying to treat them on the street is not a good thing. If there is someone who could make an enclosure for them and then treat them that might work but a month is a long time for them to be couped up. Maybe someone on here has other suggestions. But Gleek is right, if they are friendly and children are cuddling them that is not good. I only hope the family that kicked them out came down with a horrendous case of ringworm that they are unable to get rid of, especially in the lower part of their body.

yes, she is too small, so you will have to find a way to keep her in, do a cat run for her, put a collar on the tree and make sure she cannot get out of the yard any other way :). when she gets to 3lbs then you can get her done :) Vets really need to tell their clients why they cannot spay or neuter at a young age and that they should weigh at least 3lbs...just so there is not any confusion :)

oh tj, that is quite the work you have taken on :(. First of all, they will have to be (or should be) separated into at least lots of 2. They need to be kept indoors for about a month until it is totally cleared up. If their ringworm is that bad, cream will not do it alone. They will have to be washed at least 2x a week unless you can get a vet to do the dip, which is no pleasant for them but might be necessary. Their room should be able to be washed down with bleach, rinsed, and dried before putting them back in. This is a big job kiddo, especially for 5 cats. I would give feline Friends a call to see what they suggest. I highly doubt they can help in the care though as it is a big job for 5. The owners should be responsible for the care of these cats as the cats are spreading this to other cats and people who touch them. Please give me their address and I will go have a big chat wit a big stick. Are they very poor people that cannot afford to fork out the money for their care? They should be ashamed and hang their heads..especially if a picture of them as irresponsible pet owners should make it to the front page of 7 days lol.....

Agree with Kid Vs Kat and I would like to add, why not pay the rent directly to the landlord? I would certainly not be sending money for medical treatment with a bill. I would contact the hospital and find out how much is owed. Your brother might be siphoning off a chunk of money. You can tell your mom that it will be easier on her if you pay these directly so she will not have to do it :)...your older brother can do the same. Why is your older brother not insisting on the baby getting work and contributing? From the sounds of things JS, you have bent over backwards to support your family to your own detriment and other than your mum, I think it is time for our brother to get a life. You can still support your mother in the rent and hospital but by paying those directly so you know exactly how much is owed. It sounds as if giving your mum the money is not working as she is giving it to your brother and that is just not right as he is old enough to support himself. JS on the mother side. It is very sad that your mum is not the mum you want or need but this often happens when the baby is a boy unfortunately. Write her the letter, lay down some ground rules in regards to the money. Stand up for yourself and stop letting them run over you forward and backward with the *needy* truck lol. You are a good person who loves her family and they are taking advantage of that. Anyway, good luck kiddo....I have been there :)

May I ask who your vet is? Because she is home with you 4 months is fine, IF she weighs more than 1.4kg (or 3lbs). There have been advancements in Anesthesia to make it possible and safe to do a 4 month kitten IF they weigh more We will do 4 months as studies have shown that it is not harmful as was previously thought because of the advancement in vet medicine. I would call around to other vets as I find a few vets here are not quite as willing to embrace new thoughts. As for the collar on the tree, if you do it as a large upside down cone, with the big flare high enough on the tree so you other cat cannot jump over it should work for the little one as they will not be able to get around it :)

marieike, why are you disinfecting the house all the time? I wonder if your dog is a bit stressed? if there is someone around the poor fella should not have to hold his pee for a whole long time and dogs go to poop about 2x a day. Mine does in her early a.m. walk and hher dinner walk... and she goes out to pee if necessary. Find a spot in the yard and let the poor pup go there, fence it off or something. <em>edited by SueB on 20/03/2011</em>

You might have to block the way your other cat gets out. she is pretty young to be out at 4 months. Is she spayed yet? You could keep her in the house for now or do a kitty run for her so she can get outside but kept safe. If it is a tree they climb you can put a collar on the tree they cannot get by., So, until you figure it out, keep her inside :)....or block the way they both get out.

Get on the plane with your children and go back to Canada. Of course you will not be worse off in Canada!!! you will be better off and you will have time to find a job or retrain, your kids will go to school and you will get Welfare or assistance until you can get back on your feet. You must establish your residency immediately and high tail it to a govt office for help. You will be ver irresponsible to stay here. Your children will suffer..go home. Get reestablished. If you want to come back later it will be with a job :)...but. do not do what so many people have done, and that is overstay their welcome, with no money, no way to feed their children..get out of here and get home where there will be help!!!!!!

I am Canadian and a bit cuddly. Now I was more cuddly awhile ago and I doubt I will ever be 108 again (lbs girls!!) but my husband paid me a compliment when we were in Thailand. He said "oo shopping here must make you feel great, you are all the same size." I am 5'lol and they are all tiny so.....I extropolated that he thinks I am also tiny lol......and, at the end of the day, I used to feel big even when I wasnt but age got me and now I feel great so my advice is to just let it go, love your body, dress it to feel good and stop looking at bodies you were not born with and wish you were :)..it will never happen.
