maybe it is comfort he is looking for? when babies finish eating from their mother they stay in the warmth of her body and go to sleep. You could try warming up a blanket and wrapping it around him while feeding and when he is finished leave the nipple in his mouth. the warmth of the blanket might comfort him. Also if you are still putting a hot water bottle in his bed? do this so it is nice and warm and toasty after his feed.

What a perdiciment! Have you had a behaviourist come and evaluate her? It does not sound as if your girl will be able to fit into many families especially if she manages to get out and terrorize people :(....you said she has been getting mor and more unreliable over the past year, but she is only a year old.....it does sound as if she has this aggresiveness in her nature :(

Well, I am one of those old people who followed the Lamaze method when I was pregnant for my 2nd :)...I went to weekly classes though, not read the book and it was darn good. I had both labours without drugs except for a pain pill to dull the pain. Yes, it was painful but my husband helped me through it. I am not sure if I would have an epidural and been comfortable. The thought of not having control over my body was a bit daunting, at least without the major drugs I could help myself through it and I knew it would not be forever, just felt like it at the time lol....anyway, some have major drugs, some not, some go to classes, some dont, some have a doula, some dont, all different and if reading a book on the Lamaze method will help the OP in her journey toward a delivery she might be able to manage as much as she is capable of, so be it :)...I sure do recommend childbirth classes though where your husband goes with you so he can support you :)

That is very sad that the MIL did not think to leave a token for the eldest. I would certainly let her know how you feel. I cannot understand SalsB why you would tell your daughter something that would only hurt her more? I would think when the time came that you receive the jewellery and split it between the girls without either knowing the actual truth.

CanadianInDXB We have a friend coming in on Feb 4th and since the friend isn't staying at a hotel or flying emirates we have to sponsor him. We've spoken to everyone under the sun, Abu Dhabi Canadian consulate, Abu Dhabi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dubai Ministry of Foreign Affairs---everyone tells us a different story and sends us to someone else. The latest is the Ministry of Immigration is supposed to know more about it. Since our Canadian friend is living in Sweden he doesn't think he can do any of this thru the Ottawa one?? ANY help would be fantastic ;) I went through a few websites and found this ...finally lol.....your friend need to contact the UAE CONSULATE in Sweden to obtain a visa. Since this is a complaint about a service she will need to go down with contracts, receipts etc and to fill out a form. The company will then need to go there and discuss it. Not a simple 'they won't refund my money for the vacuum cleaner' case. oh, I just faxed everything to them.

We bought a wood 6 seater/round table at Home Center 7 years ago and it is still hanging in there. We oil it 2x a year and it looks great....we could actually do it 3x but we are lazy. Friends have the exact set and it looks terrible because of non oil, so, you do have to care for it. The cusions have faded, dont look great. Will replace in the Fall :) Look on Dubizzle in the gardening section, also on here in the classified. You can now buy furniture covers at ACE I believe. derbend, why not start with just walking 15 min away then 15 min back and see how you like it :)...the weather is lovely right now. Put your baby in the pram and start walking comfortably for a couple of minutes, then speed up a bit until at 5 min you have a bit of a glow on :)....THEN ramp it up for 30 sec and bring it down for one minute.or 2....do this for 20 min if you can, then go home. Your baby gets air and so do you and you get to exercise rather than stroll :). It is a start while you are thinking what you should buy. You might find you enjoy this much more than being inside on a machine. The machine can wait until summer :) Here is a great site for walking music. You can download a whole 30 min to music you like and you can walk to the beat which is very motivating and mood uplifting lol.... www.mywalkingmusic.com they have both singles you can download and complete walks.....give it a try, it is alot cheaper than a machine. You might also (if you feel ambitious) do this in the afternoon as well. On the other end of the spectrum doing it 3x 15 min also works but you have to work harder in those 15min :) the whole idea is to 'move' <em>edited by SueB on 13/01/2011</em>

The gym fitness equipment is usually heavier/sturdier as it has to withstand alot more use but you certainly can find home equipment that mimics the gym equipment. We have a nordictrax treadmill which we love, it is sturdy, takes abuse etc and is equal to any at a gym. You have to try a machine at least 6 times before your body gets comfortable with the new rhythm, that is why taking a month to find the right machine is a good idea :)

go and enroll in gym on a 1 month trial. try all the machines to see which you enjoy the most and will use. A week on each machine will tell you because yu body will have to get used to the motion..so, dont rush out, test run then buy...sales are coming soon anyway ;). The machine will only be of benefit if you like using it and you are consistant :) if you buy one you have not tried, you might not use it so it will look lovely with clothes hanging from it because you will begin to hate it lol

'sharp intake of breath' I cannot believe your husband said that. He must be the shallowest person around at this moment. He needs one heck of a slap up side the head!!! You go get yourself a gorgeous dress, get your hair done, get your makeup done (most cosmetic counters will do it for free :))....pamper yourself and dump the bum once inside the door. Fake it until you make it.....you do not need his approval, you go to that party and be the Belle of the Ball.....if you dont feel it, fake it, pretend you are doing a play.....lol.....(walks off grumbling to herself, I Cannot believe he said that!!)

hmmmm jwal, I wonder if someone is leaving their little gifts on your property for a reason????? and on purpose????? What a ridiculous thing to say! For a start I don't know anyone in the neighbourhood who owns a dog and have never reprimanded anyone about their dog, how am I meant to find out who it is when countless people walk their dogs, am I meant to stand outside all day waiting for this to happen! It's ridiculous, I can't believe people on here who think it's fine for this to be happening, no regard for childrens health. Disgusting attitudes! jwal, it is a ridiculous as saying Dubai should Ban all dogs because 'some'people do not pick up after them. I dont believe I read where anyone said it was fine, quite the contrary. They agree with you on the not picking up the poop etc...most do not agree on the blanket dog banning because of it. I think you need to step back, find out who the culprits are since you said you find the poop under your rear bumper 4 times this month, please tell me how a dog can poop under your rear bumper and if it is in the same place every day, I would say it is the same dog. Rather than complaining on here, why not go out and see if you can put a notice in everyones gates to explain the situation? You might be able to meet a few people that might help educate the owners and helpers. It is also highly possible that the maids dont pick up but the owners dont know, or it is the owners who have not lived in a country where it was pretty much mandatory to clean up or get fined. Or, you can continue blowing a gasket and vent your anger on the dogs ......and I noticed, on the people here. <em>edited by SueB on 12/01/2011</em>

Galleries Lafayette has it (low fat) have not seen Quark there though. I am on the lookout for no fat yogurt that might be flavoured (not fruit yogurt) more like lemon flavour etc or just plain no fat I can make into Greek :)...have done...Spinneys Jumeriah, Big Spinneys, both choitrum on al Wasl, spinneys Mercato, C4 Mirdif. Just not having any luck at all. The only one we have found is Yoplait Vanilla which is nice but a chnge would also be nice :)

there was a thread on here a few days ago about lamenting the demise of 1 sock so you are left with a whole lot of socks for people with 1 foot :) If you take your biggest sock and stuff it with the other socks to make a tube then sew the end closed with strong thread (canvas thread is great) then take rope and tie the stuffed sock in the middle and ,,,,voila, a doggie toy. You can also take a sock and just stuff the toe and make it round and then tie a good rope around the neck and use the sock as a ball or swing it from the unstuffed part :) then, you can give these sock toys to Kylie to take to RAK :)

They do not have a vet at the moment. look on the left panel under Pets and Vets and the number should be there in the Feline Friends section :) DUH, obviously this lack of sleep is makibg me a bit stupid lol. absolutely she will have a chip!!!! she has just been spayed recently so she belongs to someone :)...take her in tomorrow and she could be with her family tomorrow night :)..fingers crossed that the vet registered her chip!!!! Start with the vet closest to you and work out from there. If no luck, send her picture to all the vets (list on the top) then follow up with a phone call to an actual vet, not just reception. Hang, on I might be a bit ahead of myself. If she has her shots she has a chip so hopefully she had all her shots before the op!!! edited by SueB on 12/01/2011 <em>edited by SueB on 12/01/2011</em>

It is great that you are taking 6 months to find a home. I can suggest that first, you put up a link to the pictures of your animal family. 2nd be very aggressive in sending out posters of your animal family to all the vets, grocery stores tat will let you put them up, flyers in your area with pictures of course, dubizzle etc. This way, if someone comes forward and offers a home to any or all of your animals, there is time for you to help settle them in, be there to answer questions and if it does not work out, find another home. Good for you for taking a long time but....as I said, be aggressive as right now you have the time to do that. The last month before you leave, it will be difficult and you want them settled before then. Also, make up a list of questions for the potential adopters and because you have time, take the animals yourself to their new home so you can see where they are going. Go with your gut as it is usually right. All the family must come and see the animals...anyway,. good luck in your quest for new families :)

that was a rotten thing for him to say to you. there are lines that should not be crossed and that is definetly one of them!!!!! So, what to do. Well, stop mopping and feeling sorry for yourself. Get out of the house, meet friends for dinner without him, make sure your hygiene is up to par, that you look nice for YOURSELF NOT HIM, go buy something wicked for you and get out there and live your life... I was just at the Mirdif Mall. Let me tell you, I saw way more normal people that tall skinny perfectly coiffed females, but, then I was not looking because I am who I am, I take care, am short, overweight at the moment and know I will nev er be tall and skinny so why worry about it lol...but I can be the best I can be and proud of myself for making an effort for me and no one else :)....SO, let him wonder what you are up to and you can tell him *sweetie, I am just living my life*!!!!

Can i suggest you move the stray cats feeding station away from the door where your cat cannot see them ;) I am assuming your boy is neutered? if not, that is certainly the reason the spray smells so strong so you must get him don asap. Usually once the reason for the spraying is removed or at least removed enough so it does not upset him the spraying should stop, or not. anyway, here is an article that might help a bit. http://www.catsofaustralia.com/cat-spraying-urine.htm

if you do start feeding a cat, you cannot very well stop without alot of noise. the neighbours will just have to shut their windows for now. have him checked for a chip, does he have his bits that you noticed? What Marycatherine says plus, feed him by a bin if you can and leave water.
