I am rereading all this and honestly, it sounds a bit like sour grapes. So, what a good portion of you are say is: 1. if she lets him pay, she does ot have self respect 2. if she pays then she will not *owe* him anything (ie, s e x?) 3. if he pays he will not respect her 4. M.aybe this man is just very old fashioned and even opens the car door for her, lets her go first, has her walk on the inside, pulls out her chair :). It certainly does not ruffle my feathers because he pays, it does not, in my eyes make her any less than she is, she would not get any less respect so I am not sure why some are patting themselves on the back for paying their share AND implying that she is less because she lets him pay for dinner?, when this man clearly wants to totally pamper her and she lets him :)_ btw, I dont this this gal is a young spring chicken in her first blush, just by her writing I think she knows the score lol <em>edited by SueB on 10/01/2011</em>

my husband was one of those dates that would get very excited if I picked up the bill. Until I stopped working, i paid if I had the money and he paid if he did. , If neither of had cash we used the joint cc lol. anyway, do know some men that insist on paying for everything, much to their dates/partners chagrineo, it might be 2011 but not everyone is on board. If her friend insists on paying so be it. If she is comfortable with that, so be it as well. If she feels the need to ask him why he will not let her pay, so be it. She did just ask a question. abbyboot, on here, when someone calls someone else an endearing name ie, honey, sweetie, it usually is said in a sarcastic way and meant to be condesending. FIY :)

you know ARancher, that makes total sense. Sometimes you can have the same answer to a question 20 different ways, but one answer makes total sense but just says the same thing differently. Now, did that make sense? lol

that could be why Pat keeps coming back. The cuisine at Chez JS is much better than what is served at home lol. And I am sure there is a fancy feast smell hovering over your house that is perking all the cats up....you might find once you stop with the FF you might get less cats lol

oh oh js, I think one of the cats has put a sign outside your house that says "great eats"lol. Pull back on the fancy feast girl or you will have cats coming for dinner from miles around. Go and buy some dry food and give them that. It is better for them and for your wallet lol..... do what you can js but dont take the cat world on your shoulders or you will be heartbroken for life :( dry food js, not fancy feast lol

excellent salary. Do you know how much it is to the nearest bus stop by taxi? I wonder if there are maids that get together to take a taxi, if you could find out from neighbours, this might help? Or could you drop her at a bus stop? I suppose until there is an actual bus service you both could be a bit flexable, certainly not paying taxi into the city though but to a stop? Yearly flight home is pretty normal now I believe at your convenience. Best to get that organized now so she knows. The yearly flight starts after she has been with you 12 months .....fyi :)

if you are doing the Shred you have gained muscle mass :)....it is very normal to weigh more when you start working out. Sounds like you are working hard 5 days a week. thats good. Make sure your gym days are not spent chatting but working hard and your walk days do intervals. 2:2 ratio. Walk hard 2 min, walk a bit mor than comfortable for 2 min for at least 30 min. Give yourself a minute. Measure your waist every week as see how that works for you. also you said you are eating heaps of salad. Salad can be fattening if you plough into 2 or 3 cups a serving with dressing....give yourself a cup-cup and 1/2 along with the protein and dont forget the lowfat/zero fat yogurt. Mix some of the low fat fruit yogurt into zero Greek yogurt, yum. anyway, good luck. keep going.

why not go to the AR community center and ask the person in charge. Someone must have a record of who they rent to. Also ask the shops near where the shop was, someone might remember.

we have only been on since Jan 1`. I enjoy cooking so I dont find it boring but I always make double from simple receipes so I am not living in the kitchen. It also helps if you have hard boiled eggs in the fridge among other things. Bookster, get the book, read it first then start the diet. It really helps knowing that there are 4 phases and the attack is short which is Pure Protein. The next phase is Lots of Veg and Protein one day and Pure protein the next until you hit your target weight. The next phase is where you have reached your goal and you stay on this one to stablize your weight. The time on this one varies with how much weight you had to lose and it is very easy and the last one is for life :). I am not a great starch eater so no deprived, I figured if I could quit smoking, surely I could lose the weight. anyway, get the book. It works, it balances out, you are not deprived except for the Attack couple of days :).

I used mine for 6 months before throwing in the towel. The problem, at least with me was the height of the head. I could support my neck but the head angle was just wrong. my feather pillow can be packed in my neck, tucked around the shoulder and the head is fine, no pain. I think the pillow suits some but I found it uncomfortable as did my husband.

yup. Cats love to lay on it. It gave me wicked headaches. I could not get it to conform to my head :(..back to a soft feather pillow I can tuck into my neck.

the baby is born to a British mother and I assume the father is also British. There must some precident for this as the baby is a British Subject by birth???

Jj we dont know that the baby will be an orphan and brought up in the UAE, never to see its mother. Good heavens, the parents might bring up the baby now they know about it. I doubt they would put their grandchild in an orphanage. We can make all the suppositions we like but we are all responding to the article in 7 days. None of us really know the whole story, other than she left her baby on the street after having the baby. She could have had a girlfriend with her for all we know, who has since left the scene. Of course she would be distraught as it must have been horrible for her to first have the child then leave it on the street. I can empathize with her in having to leave her child. Some of us were commenting on the law of the land, I dont think anyone was saying burn the poor girl at the stake :). anyway, i do hope it works out and she is able to leave the country with her child if she can.

why do these girls/woman dump their babies in the rest of the world then if there is support out there for them?it Yes, here it is a criminal offence to have a child out of wedlock but my question, did she go into labour and it took her unawares so she was terrified? I would say that could be a strong possibility. iT is unfortunate that she did this and she will regret it for a very long time. I do hope they (parents, family, friends) come to her aid, but, at the end of the day she will be prosecuted. I do hope the baby will go with her parents though....very sad.

an 18 year old knows the difference between right and wrong, unless she has been totally sheltered and had no idea of the difference. Or she is mentally deficient so unable to understand what she did was wrong. I was 18 once as all of us were. I would never have abandoned my baby in a bin or street. Most countries would prosecute if the baby was found in a bin, absolutely. Putting the baby in the street where someone would find it...what if no one had found it? Unfortunately, it happens all over the world. It is also called taking responsibility for your actions. If this girl on the cusp of womanhood were 13 or 14 I might have to say different things, but, 18, as I said.

it is possible that this young woman was able to hide her pregnancy. She could be overweight and the baby small and she might have also not put on much weight. It is not all that hard to do, especially with some of the cloths that the kids wear now. So, the parents might not have been aware and put it up to weight gain. It does happen.

please contact K9, Al Safa Vets is open today so send a poster. Put posters up in your area, knock on neighbours doors. dogs can travel far unfortunately but she could find her way home. I find my always gravitates toward open gates to invest igate when on her leash.... If you walk her regularily on certain routes she is familiar with, she is more likely to go with the familiar first so look along those routes.

I had asked the question a few days ago if anyone had actually used the Comsumer rights Gov dept here. It was deleted for whatever reason. I want to let you know that it does work :). They handled my case quickly and efficiently and without Drama, at least not on my side, have no idea about the other. Anyway, the store will be giving me a refund on Sunday or Monday. If they don't, Consumer Protection will reopen the case and get it for me!!!! So, when you see the sign on the shop desk that asks if you know your rights and you need to call...please call if you have a dispute. It really does work.

No, that is just not right. If you could call him back and find out where he lives and who the neighbours are that would be good. It is possible that the neighbours are not feeding him, that is why he is *catting* around so to speak. If you dont want him to adopt you (is he spayed, did you notice:) THEN try and encourage him to go back to his house. You will of course have to get the neighbours online. I would say the poor boy is hungary for affection :(
