have any of the vets tested her blood for FIV/Felv etc? have they taken a stool sample? Urine sample? or are they just taking a guess. Can you say which Vets? Have you tried Nad Al Sheba or Al Safa yet? Most cat things are not passed to dogs btw.

Both these service companies could possibly be able to send you to wholesalers or get you into your dress asap :) http://dubaiwed.com/ourservices.htm Never Say Never but you do have to be willing to at least spend one day going to shops as I highly doubt you will find a tailor to make a dress. My 1.5 yr old girl went AWOL today. She sticks around the walls, rarely gets off. Today she was nowhere to be found. Panic by 4...she always comes when called as she is usually in the yard. Frantic by 9 thinking the worst and running through my head all the steps I had to take. 1. Knock on neighbours doors 2. Walk the neighbourhood calling her 3. Looking in the oddest places as she has to be close by 4. Getting on the computer to do the flyer 5. If not home by a.m. send te flyers to all vets 6. Call municipality to see if they have been sweeping this area and do they have her. 7. Contact FF to report her lost :( 8. Stand on roof of villa late tonight and call and listen for a reply 9. Walk the neighbourhood again when all is quiet. 10. Think think of where she could be. I went out again at 11. My husband walked the neighbourhood, no luck. I got into my P.J.'s and did one more quiet call out the gate, just in case she was at the feeding station. Lo and behold I hear this little panicky meow!!!! I call again, and another panicky Meow meow!!! pinpoint the direction and fly across the street in my P.J.s like a crazy person. Thank god our street light has been out for a few days lol. Race over to the electrical building where the strays sometimes go and there she is. She somehow got in but did not know exctly how to get out!!!...I race back to the villa, take the stairs 2 at a time, fly into the bedroom where my husband is trying to sleep as he has a late night flight, change out of my P.J.s, slam the door to his ****** off voice lol...race outside, across the street with a little flash light....and I hear a meow, not panicky, she figured out how to get out I guess because she had watched my hand show her the 1st time. I picked up the little weasle, washed her off and told her she was canned for a good week!!! The end of my saga with a girl who will not be chained to the yard. Hope luck is with her!! or, hope she has learned her lesson.

jam, I just checked their site and it is 70dhm/day for cats. It doesnt say junior etc but it does for dogs. Dogs start at 115/day. Looks like a pretty pampered pet facility lol....But for a short term stay I would think it would be fine. However, for only 4-5 days it would be better for kitty to stay in his own home if possible and have someone come every day for feeding/water/litter scoop and play :). He will be fine for thatamount of time.

Poppy, do you have any friends that could give you hand? Sounds like you might need a bit of help to get you going in the right direction :) I am sure your pajama bottoms were very nice lol...I would bet no one noticed, considering some of the outfits you see here :)

Can you put up a link with her picture on here? Did you call Feline Friends and report her missing? Please put up flier at all the vets offices (a list at the top of this forum) did you google found cats dubai or things along that line, it will bring up lots of options...did you put her picture in Dubizzle? knock on neighbours doors to have them look in their yards. Have any families in the area moved out or gone on holiday and she could be stuck in the villa? You might want to hire some of the gardeners/maids to put fliers in each villa in a 3 block radius. Is her ear tipped? (signifying she has been spayed, if she was an FF cat or abandoned)

loopy, I might be a bit concerned that every time you quit you go into a deep depression. If Champix also can make some depressed then why not look for an alternative? Often a short course of a couple of months of the right anti depressant can help you stay positive through the quiting experience. Smoking can hold at bay depression, I did not know that but it was one of the things I learned going through the last quit. So, when you quit you can get depressed. So, if you tend that way, protect yourself first and if you do decide to go on anti depressants you must know you will have to change the prescription after you quit smoking to a lower dose. Anyway, this site http://whyquit.com/ helped me get through the 1st 3 months. It was like a lifeline. There is so much information in 'Joel's Library' it will boggle your mind. Also the support is really great. It is a cold turkey site and they dont mince words, it is a tough site and does not let you talk your way back into smoking. I called it a tough love for smokers lol.... I had joined a few other site but found they helped in the excuse to start smoking again, they kept saying it was alright to give up and try again, etc and that just did not sit well with me, hence WhyQuit.com :). Anyway, it worked as a huge support for me and I can honestly say, one of the many reasons I have not picked up a cig in times of high stress is that I do not ever want to have to quit smoking again lol!!!! So, there you are, just another possible support for you :)

3 days before my quit day I got very upset and weepy. It felt like I was giving up a friend who I could never have in my life again. I was not great the last creeping days and I smoked like a chimmney. I had only smoked 5 in the last pack, broke the rest in pieces and shoved them in the garbage, cried because I was terrified I could not do it :)...3 years on, I was much stronger than I gave myself credit for, because, I wanted to quit.

whatever floats your boat Loopy, thats the way you will go :).....just remember, every inhalation of a cigarette poisons your body and every puff, takes you closer to death and away from your children and grandchildren, parents, sibs and beloved friends. I am sorry to hear why you started again and you can do it...you can do it now or do it later but....you can do it. Give yourself credit, make this your last quit while your skin is still good and you can breath lol...

congrats Loopy on giving it another go :). Your last quite to 3 weeks...darn good. You had gotten yourself over the worst week, got through the 2nd not so bad week and were cruising your 3rd of being an exsmoker. What happened? Was it: 1. you thought just one smoke would be fine? 2, you hit the bars with friends without a backup plan? 3. You were not drinking enough water and did not make plans on what you were going to put into your mouth other than a cig (dont get rude here lol) 4. You never gave up the wine for awhile? 5. you did not have enough confidence in yourself to stick it out? You know you can quite cold turkey for 3 weeks. You can do cold turkey again. Why drag it out. The 1st week is the hardest, make plans to cope, do accupuncture, massage make the whole month about Me Me Me. Inform everyone you quite, ask for support even from the kids, especially from the husband. Remember, Me Me Me. It is tough but you have already proven to yourself you can do it :). I am over 3 years quit and cannot still believe it sometimes. Breath Breath Breath, drink water, no alcohol, stay away from smokers and no one smokes in your house, ever!!! Clean all your clothes and pay attention to how smokers smell, not nice.....so, that is it in a nutshell, at least for me. Make it all about you and dont waiver, pamper yourself, walk 30 min a day, watch what you eat...stay away from the sweets, start running if you can, anything to remind you you need good lungs :). I was diagnosed with COPD a year after I quit..thank goodness I did quit before that shattering news :)....so, clean lungs, no reason to poison your body, make it your last quit, respecct you, care about you. You dont need luck, but you need determination that you are important enough not to let the poison of cig enter your body and control your life. :)

when you call the Municipality, if they say to bring in the kitten, do not! keep her until the owners are found. they can give you the information, if not, the vet can with a few calls once they run the chip #....The vet needs the chip # :) <em>edited by SueB on 03/01/2011</em>

Vertitas is a she, unless I still am not paying attention lol. Is your dogs bed in a very quiet place, away from activity. does he have a travel box? is it big enough to put his bed inside? or pile with blankets, take off the door and cover the whole thing except most of the doorway with another blanket so it is like a cave. He might be the kind of dog that needs some alone time in his own little cave where no one can bother him. Anyway, try it and see what happens :)

I didnt know she was leaving, I had better pay more attention :)...try Nad al Sheba to see if she is there but Caroline is definetly there (oh heavens, I could be wrong on that as well, but dont think so) ginabeana, how long has this been going on? have you taken the poor fella to the Dr to find out what is wrong? 3 months is a long time for him to be doing this. Does he have a doggy door so he can get out to go to the bathroom? Sounds like there is something else going on with him. So, have the vet check him over 1st, then call Veritas or Caroline. I am not the professional so can only suggest you go to one who is :) Hold the phone!! Veritas posted on the 1st about going to something on the 3rd so she is still here :) at the moment lol....VERITAS CALLING VERITAS!!!! <em>edited by SueB on 03/01/2011</em>

Lise, can you take her into a vet to check the chip#? If she has a tag she has had her shots and if she has her shots she has a chip :). Take her to the vet close to you and hopefully someone is looking for her. I also alerted Feline Friends so call the Helpline and talk to Lesley. Someone is looking for her I am 100% sure ;)

does he lay in the pee on his bed? I am not sure if this will work, but, you can get disposable sheets for training that he might pee on instead and you could move it closer and closer to the door each day? You might have to recrate train him :( better to do this before the baby comes. When you are at the vet you need to find out if he has a urinary infection or something else going on. I would contact the behaviourist a week after his clip. Dont wait, better to nip it now. Also, Veritas is at Nad Al Sheba I think, the dog whisperer :)...she might also be the one to straighten your yorkie out. You do want it organized before the baby comes He is a boy dog and the op is not like the females. He will be fine, just talk to the vet about the pain :) Now here is my thought. I find alot of people treat their tiny dogs like tiny people and they spoil them without giving the dog boundries. If you doggy rules the roost this could be the problem. Having Caroline or Veritas have a chat with him will help, especially if he ha been a pampered pooch without rules. Just remember, he is a dog first and really wants someone to be the leader of the pack but it sounds as if he is having a problem with that lol...anyway, good luck...please keep up posted on whats happening with him :)

poppy I remember :). I know it was long ago but things dont change that much :)....house is last on the list and if anyone complains about the state it is in, tell them to have a cleaner come in 2x a week :). You can eat with your baby, give him a spoonful along with a toy and you take a bit of your food, take your time, give him different toys in his highchair so you can finish eating without shoveling it in. He can sit and play for 10 min after his food. When you want or need to do some cleaning, pop him in the chair for 10 min and load the dishwasher and clean the counters. You need to breath, lots of pillows in a circle and him in the middle. Dont have all his toys out only have 3 or 4 at a time then remove them when you need to do something and replace them with 3 or 4 different ones. He will be happy, or should be lol. Bathroom time, put him on the bathroom floor on towels and make sure he cant get in cupboards...again, toys or spoons or plastic buckets while you bathe, do teeth etc. Does he nap in his room? if he gets in the habit of laying and resting with a few things to do or watch, not sleeping will be fine and chances are he will eventually fall asleep. Same with night time, a routine makes all the difference, I did 4:30 - 5 dinner for him then he played while we had dinner or we waited until later. 6 was bathtime, 6:30 was reading time and lights out by 7. At 7 we ate if we hadnt and I did laundry, clean up and sat lol. He often just talked to himself in his room and fell asleep by 7:30....except for those times he yelled for me to come, which I went to the door, waved, smiled and left. He had a bottle of water in his crib, a few toys, nightlight. When he could climb out of his crib that is another chapter lol. Anyway, relax, make your life as easy as possible, enjoy him, do your outings with him in the morning so he can nap in the afternoon. Sorry to be so long winded, hope I have helped a wee bit....

I can only say ït is only hair and it will grow. As someone said earlier, the kids usually have no idea but if the parent makes a big fuss, they will sure be self consious about their hair....if you like your own hairdresser, thats where you take them. I came back from holiday to find my 15 yr old had an orange army cut lol....well, it grew and didnt hurt anyone and was eventually forgotten, he loved it so who was I to say it looked terrible lol

well, I guess it comes down to having the letter and not using it or not having it and being turned away :)... My friend a year ago left her husband under awful circumstances. She was not stopped from getting on the plane here and She flew to Canada with her newborn and was afraid that she would be stopped from entering Canada. She said there was no problem, he looked at her face and let her go through, not sure what he saw :) BUT it was not a problem :)

Not sure if they will ask or not but, alot of countries ask for a letter from a spouse. It does not matter who is travelling with the children, mom or dad, it is the same, letter of permission to take the children out of the country. It is to make sure the children are not being kidnapped by a parent. Anyway, as I said, not all ask.
