The Pullman deira is a quiet option. Last time I was there, there must have been about a dozen people. But they did do a Cobone recently so be warned it may not be so quiet.

Maybe try contacting Ductac or some of the universities offering art courses in knowledge village. You may find someone who is trying to build a portfolio of work.

An honest estate agents (or is that an oxymoron) A driving school that teaches people how to drive properly An after school care centre A reliable service to take kids to and from school A reminder of home - a shop that imports the stuff from home that we love but can't get hold of here.

Look on notice boards in supermarkets. If you wait a couple of weeks you're more likely to get a better price as that is the time of year expats leave (end up of school year).

I think the OP was saying that in the new villa the maids room is accessed from inside the house unlike her current property. I would tell the maid that you are moving and suggest that she tries it out until the end of contract and then see from there. She may like JI and want to stay or she may not and want to leave...but without trying it she will never know.... If she doesn't want to go, get rid.

I've just had a look at some properties on Dubizzle. The yearly rent for some of the villas is same as it would cost to buy a (small) house back home. They are really nice I know and yes I would love a massive house with lovely finishes (well they look good in the photo). Unfortunately, I'm obviously in the wrong line of work..... But the reality for me is that property here is expensive and, if it continues to rise, I'll be looking at going elsewhere. Something really needs to be done to stop a repeat of 2008 rent prices. edited by summer breeze on 22/05/2013

I am not a westerner but my guess is that it was not western expats who did this. edited by Arch on 20/05/2013 edited by Arch on 20/05/2013 edited by Arch on 20/05/2013 Arch next time you edit your comments please do not make it look like I wrote what you actually wrote. I am a westerner and I believe that my fellow countrymen are just as capable as anyone of animal cruelty. I am the one who said we should not be pointing the finger at certain nationalities. It could be anyone from anywhere that as committed these heinous acts.

Firstly I said expats I did not specify western initially. Secondly you are totally deluded if you believe that expats (and I'm not necessarily referring to the warm fuzzy Westerners that live here because obviously those are the only ones that they allow through immigration) are not involved in animal cruelty. My dog is petrified of men with a Pakistani or Indian appearance. Yes they too are expats. I don't understand how you equate a nationality to a certain crime. It could be anyone that does this. edited by summer breeze on 20/05/2013

My heart bleeds everytime I read about these voiceless creatures being brutally tortured by these brutes. Being expats, honestly speaking there is very little we can do about it. R.I.P. Roxy... Have you thought that it may be expats doing this and therefore parents may see the campaign that is on Facebook or read about it on here and do something about it? Spreading the word and, where possible, intervening at grassroots level could save one life. If you ask me that makes it all worthwhile. Depends on the terms 'thought that it maybe Expats doing this'? No decent western expats would ever consider this in my honest opinion. Is that because there is no such thing as animal cruelty in the "civilised western countries"? Look at the RSPCA website to see what cruelty is afflicted on animals in the UK. Why could it not be expats?

As a matter of interest, any ladies here been to Essex (or the locals there would call it 'issex')...? Now, there is one place in UK for chavs!!! Had the high misfortune of living there for a time.... My DH is from Essex...lived in Chigwell when I met him. Although I never lived there I know exactly what you mean! I love watching TOWIE though! But have you seen The Valleys? That a whole new level Horrific Suze and i thought Geordie Shore was bad! No one should ever suffer living there - my former DH was from Basildon and OMG, what an utter dump. Never watched (or would want to watch TOWIE) - I would need expensive psychiatric treatment for remembering my time in that unfortunate county.... Plenty of hoodies, tracksuits, girls dancing in white stilettos around their handbags and guys believing that their jeans, below their posterias look so so cool....not!! Did he go to Cha(l)vedon school and hang out at Pitsea market?

I agree with Tru Blu. I've had a bad experience with them as well and I'm still trying to get my money refunded clear back from a canceled order in December from something I never received yet paid for when I ordered it in November. I've posted several times on their Facebook page with all the other complaints. Usually someone responds within a few days, but that doesn't necessarily mean the problem will be resolved. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to get a refund, I'd appreciate it. I paid with PayPal since I did not want my credit card info to be sent to them, but PayPal and the card that I used through PayPal have not been credited. It isn't a significant amount, but the second time I've been ripped off in this country. You can raise a dispute with paypal. Not sure if you have to do this in a certain timeframe however. https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/mpp/first-dispute If you use a UK credit Card you can claim back from the credit card company (provided it is over 100GBP I think).

That's about right. End of term2/ start of term 3 depend on when Easter falls. Generally it's: Term 1 - first Sunday in September-last Thursday before Xmas (with Eid off as half-term) Term 2 - A few days after new years day (not always the Sunday) -last thursday before Good Friday (variable half term) Term 3 - Start 2 weeks after Easter Sunday-last Thursday in June (variable half term) Please remember this is a rough guide and different schools to vary slightly.

But you pay 500 and get 250? Makes no sense why anyone would think that was a good deal. The idea is that you pay a 500 deposit against a project. For that project you get 250. The company then use the deposit for the the next months project for which you get 250. So in theory in 2 months you make 500 and then if you decide to stop you get your 500 deposit back.

6000 people fell for this...cant believe people still believe in get-rich-quick schemes. Greed Or desperation for some. giving 100 000 aed from your sons university fund is not desperation.IMHO or getting bank loan to fund projects that are too good to be true. So out of the 6000 people are they all investing like this? No. If you read on other forums there are a large number of small 'investors' who have put in their life savings of 2000-3000aed. But I'm sure the UAE top quality media have just highlighted an unrepresentative few like they so often do. Maybe if you have bought into what they are telling you.....I have a nice little investment you might be interested. Send me 5000aed and I'll tell you how to get rich quick.....
