Hi Try Churchills Cat Hotel in Barsha or Urban Tails (we love this place) in Dubai Investment Park. They both charge by the day and I would highly recommend them both as our loveable thug seems to enjoy both!

Also ALL over Satwa at the weekend. The array of stuff available for National Day down there is amazing and all kinds of funny things! I love the spirit people put into National Day. Looking forward to our annual trip down beach road - such a great carnival atmosphere! :)

When we were in Capetown we got into Muesli tartlets with fruit and natural yoghurt and honey. Tried it when we got home and hubby loves it....simply take a serving of muesli/granola and mix with an egg then bake in the oven for 10/15 mins (until lightly browned and crispy) then serve with freshly chopped fruit plus natural yoghurt and honey. Yum! You can either make one large tartlet or a few of smaller ones in a muffin tin. We also love oats with fresh apple and cinammon or fresh berries and goji berries. I also love it with prunes (tinned) and then i pour the prune juice over the oats to sweeten. Enjoy :)

Saadiyat Island would be great. Personally really like the Park Hyatt - dont have kids but have friends with kids who have stayed and plan to go back. Think it has the edge on the St Regus IMHO in general.. Enjoy and Happy Birthday! :)

Haven't been for dinner but we have been for weekend breakfasts quite a few times and we really like it. Will be even lovelier in the winter I would imagine when you can take advantage of cooler weather and outside dining. In fact i think we will go again this weekend..yum! :)

I now avoid it like the plague......my husband had something sent through from home and not only had the package been opened and the item taken out but someone had placed a CV in the envelope of a warehouse work (we can only assume it was a prank by someone else) and sent it to us (it was a Slough contact address)!!! We have folllowed it up with them and still waiting for a resolution but it completely turned me off. Such a shame.

Don't write the Address off just yet. We have placed a few people in there recently and got a better deal than at the Nuran and even the Gloria so perhaps worth an enquiry. Good luck :)

W Retreat, Fesdu Island, North Ari Atoll. Absolutely lovely! Would also recommend a water villa. We didnt go for our honeymoon but lots of honeymooners there and a really gorgeous place with quite a funky feel. Like many places in the Maldives not cheap but so worth the money! Enjoy! :)

Loved loved loved Table 9. Laid back, amazing food and service and great experience. Love the 'flashlessness' about it (made up word but think you know what I mean!) Do know what you mean about the hostess though pollydxb1 - we must have had the same lady! :) Cant wait to try Reflets now! edited by sunglow on 17/05/2012

Hi You can also buy them in More Cafe's. I'm also not sure of the legality to be honest but we have launched them in the desert before in rememberance of a family member whose funeral we couldnt attend back home. It was lovely.

I'm with m king on this one. Find Lime Tree very overrated in general but wasnt overly impressed with the carrot cake either which I'd looked forward to for ages! The One deli in Jumeirah do a very scrummy one though! Hungry now! ;)

Hi Mmmmmm We live in the Springs opposite a smaller lake and I agree totally with DXB Cinderella. No complaints re Mosquitos or odours. In fact we really love the sound of the fountain and previoulsy lived by a lake with no fountain which was very peaceful and no odour issues. Each lake had lots of fish so really helps control odour I think. As for privacy, we are happy with the trees we have at the bottom of the garden as seem more than adequate. Would much rather that than being back to back. We do have a cat too who wonders in and out with no problems. We know when a dog is around though as he looks like an olympic sprinter on his dash back though the garden ;) Overall I would definitely go for lake view every time. Good Luck!:)

Depends on what your budget is/what the occasion is etc and if you want casual or formal. However, Table 9 at the Dubai Creek Hilton is the absolute BEST. Can't recommend it highly enough. There are also a couple of lovely places within the Park Hyatt/Creek Golf & Yacht Club which are lovely from formal to informal. Enjoy!

We have always enjoyed the Al Aqah but have not been for a while. Miramar is also lovely although from what I recall the rooms were slightly smaller. Personally, am not a big Rotana fan and whilst I havent stayed at this one we did take a tour in case we fancied it next time and it was a no for us. Congratulations and enjoy your babymoon wherever you end up! :)

the sad thing about this is I imagine the show will try and break up the duo and just go ahead with Johnathon. The whole point of this story is that she has stuck by him and believed in him and that friendship is what makes their perfomance magical. she is a weaker singer than him but the story of friendship is what will catch the hearts of everyone who watches them Yes - my thoughts exactly. What a really lovely girl who could also set an example to so many image obsessed idiots. She has truly stuck with him and supported him. I so hope she stays in as she is a shining example for us all and very talented too!

Pronovias - I would have pulled my teeth out rather than let there assistants loose on my daughter. Nasty is all I have to say about them - but I wont include the Eastern European assitant in that. Sadly though the day I went to make the appointment she was going out to luch and I was left in the hands of 2 other who were just down right nasty. The dresses were lovely but they were all a variation on the same theme - they were almost identical to each other. This is where I thought she'd have found her dress as everything she'd liked on line was Pronovias but the lack of different styles meant there really wasnt anything to chose unless you were sure you wanted the mermaid/bootylicious/fishtail look. My daughter thought she was sure but as it is - she went for what she said she'd never consider. :D Congratulations you and your daughter found a great dress :) I had to quote you only because my best friend got married in Dubai four years ago and she and her mother had the SAME experience with Pronovias! I think she got her dress either from Bridal Room or Wedding Shop in the end, and with a discounted price tag! Oh Pronovias...when will they learn that their staff in Dubai are SO offputting and I would agree verging on nasty. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life and such a shame as they had lovely dresses! I also found success at the Bridal Room. Really hope you have an amazing celebration and glad she found the dress! :)

We love the setting of this place and can be nice for a casual dinner on a lovely evening. Better too if with an Entertainer voucher. I think (but not too sure) it's in Fine Dining again this year. Enjoy :)

Enjoy your stay! We stayed in a desert villa a couple of years ago when it first opened and loved it. We've also got the Living Social deal for a stay in a few weeks at a Beach villa and I cant wait. We happened to be in RAK at the weekend and went for lunch at the beach club and it was lovely! Dont worry about the Spa am sure you will love it anyway. Enjoy :) Oh and if you have the Entertainer Books there are vouchers both in the Fine Dining and Family for the restaurants. Thai place is gorgeous.

It's lovely. Lethal but lovely. A bit overkill on the staff right now i.e. one on your heel every step you take but think I was particularly irritable this morning as had just come from the gym for the first time in forever (killer!) Well, you nearly got a message late on Thursday evening! He turned up at about 1030 but only stayed for half an hour or so. We havent seen him since. My DH reckons its because he stopped and gave him some fuss outside on the street and he is just a little affection monster. Am sure he is adored by someone - hope so! You'll be the first to know if we get any repeat visits though!

Thanks. It's heartbreaking and I really hope he/she was just wondering for the night. Was desperate for affection and so adorable...if it happens again then we're off to the vets to get the chip checked. May be a bit dramatic but it was clearly distressed last night and I think just a little lost...thanks for bumping.

I became single again at 39 and was initially very scared. However, I met some really lovely girls here who have a better social life than when I was in my twenties! I reunited with and married my DH last year and at 40 have no kids but have not even ruled that one out! You are NOT weird....I discovered that being single at our age is not at all abnormal, it's more about not willing to compromise as so many do. I have lots of lovely successful amazing 40 something friends who are single or married with no kids and they are having a ball as am I. Enjoy it! It sounds like you deserve it.....oh and remember 40 is the new 30 ;-)
