HI, so there is a built in walkin closet room in my apartment, same room that has my AC system, and I had a few leaking incidents from the AC which caused mould to grow all over the wooden shelves even the floor skirting which destroyed it all,,, so now I gutted out the whole room to clean the mould and sanitise it. but I will need to build in a new closet... I really don't want to do a full on built in wood walk in closet. I want something very simple like wire shelving and racks type of storage. I can't seem to find a company that does that. does anyone know where I can get this done? thank you. Sounds like you could find what you want in a famous sweedish store ☺☺ yes :) i was hoping to find something else

@sunset mine was much bigger, it was 12 cm, the surgery took around 2 hours, i stayed at the hospital for 2 nights. The discomfort that I had was mostly from the gas they use during the procedure in order to inflate the abdomen, after the surgery some of it lingers in your body for a while and that was the painful part, but this happens with every laproscopic procedure in the abdomen. Regarding the Dr I highly recommend him, the surgery was done at City Hospital

May I know where are you taking the baking courses? Thanks Hi Ladies I am just about to start a baking course & need to familiarise myself with the best places for equipment, (tins, cases, spatulas, whisks etc, want to buy good quality so they last) & ingredients, icing, glitter, sprinkles etc. Where is the best place to get everything? Or do I have to go to various shops all over Dubai & if so where? Is it worth to get stuff shipped from the US & UK? TIA.

well it makes life much more easier when it comes to Visas and traveling to Europe.. If I use my saudi passport then of cousre I will need to apply for visas... but when I travel to any Arab country such as the UAE for example then I would use my Saudi passport as a member of the Gulf Countries I don't need a visa :-)

thank you all... My parents are saudi citizens.. i was born in the 70's during that time and until 1982 it was possible if a person was born in the UK to become a UK citizen, that law was changed after 1982.

Hi all, I was born in the UK therefor I have a UK passport as well as a Saudi passport as I am a Saudi national and have lived there all my life. I never lived in the UK. I do not own any property in the UK, I just visited there a couple of times for holidays only. I now live and work in Dubai under my Saudi passport. My question is, if I ever decide to move to the UK will they ever ask about me about taxes that I haven't been paying? I am not really sure how the whole system works. Thanks

dressing rules are unchanged, same applies as for non-ramadan days. only change is the availability of food/drinks and ban on public eating/drinking/smoking. also some shops will be closed in the afternoon and open later in the night instead. malls are usually open until 1am - 2am. I really don't think that dressing rules should stay "unchanged" during Ramadan. Many Muslims who fast find disrespectful when people show alot of skin during this holly month. So the best thing to do is to respect the holiness of this month and dress modestly.

Can anyone please clear up rules of what you can/can't wear etc during Ramadan. Some say ''Cover knees and shoulders' some say this is not the case. Please shed some light for me as i'm very confused! yes I think the best thing would be cover knees and shoulders

Hi Ladies, Do any of you know where I could find beds that are similar to the ones you find in hotels, beds without frame, where you have the choice to separate them and make 2 single beds or put them next to each other so you'll have a king size bed?

Slaughtering animals in most Islamic countries is done by strict Islamic rules and guidelines, and each rule and guideline has a reason behind it, it is usually done very fast and quick to minimize the pain. Islamic laws and believes are in no way cruel to animals, there are many chapters in the Qur'an that condemns animal cruelty.

Ok... How long a list do you want? I'm an addict. For the ultimate (26 episodes) period fest, try "The Pallisers" . It was on the BBC about 30 yrs ago, adopted from novels by Anthony Trollope. I can lose myself in it for about a week. Also try "Wives and Daughters" (Beeb serial) Brideshead Revisited - set in the 20's, but if you've never seen it, it is a must - the series I mean not the recent film I also liked the Bucaneers and highly recommend North & South with Richard Armitage. Bleak House - recent BBC with Gillian Anderson of X files fame Also relatively modern, but a total classic "The Jewel in the Crown" - set in the last days of the Raj Oh and other fab and under rated gems of 70's and 80's period TV - The Onedin Line (we will be watching that on our hols in Spain) and Poldark. They don't make 'em like that any more If you want a film instead of a serial, try Emma starring Gwyneth Paltrow and "remains of the Day" or "The age of innocence". I cry at the end of that one EVERY time. Is that enough? I own all of these , but as they've just gone off in my container, I can neither watch nor lend them to you. Try amazon for some good prices. Thanks alot.. I'm downloading now Brideshead revisited..

There is a good place that specializes in Falafel sandwiches only, it is called "Just Falafel" you can find it in Al Barsha behind MoE, they deliver as well but I don't know if they have a seating area. For the Arabic restaurant maybe you can try Mirkaaz in Media City they always have daily lunch specials. edited by susa on 21/06/2011

salmon pasta, quick and easy. cut the raw smoked salmon in squares and stir fry with finely chopped onion for 1 minute or so. cook the pasta, best pasta for this dish is farfalle. once the pata is ready pour it in the pan with the salmon, add some cooking cream, cook for another minute and ready to be eaten! That sounds yummy!.... I want to try that..

Thank you all, your homes sound really lovely, I've always loved to see how people decorated their homes.... as some of you said it is easy to get bored of a certain look and color which is really a disaster. sometimes I think that the hot and sunny weather of Dubai goes better with a lighter and fresher color scheme but then I think warm and rich colors are much more cozy :-)... I hope I get it right this time

Hi Ladies, I am moving into a new apartment soon, and I am bit confused on how to furnish and decorate the new space, on whether I should go for dark brown woods and a richer color palette or go for the white and light furniture and colors... please tell me about the style and colors you went for :-)
