Invited members are "apparently" ones who usually or have in the past purchased golden circle or VIP tickets, so select ones it seems.

There will be a pre-sale again from 1-4 March for flash members before it goes out to the public on 5 March. I just got an email. Passwords for the pre-sale will be sent to members tomorrow.... Not sure how you become a member.... Hopefully this is helpful for those trying to get tickets for the 2nd show (if it's not too disheartening of course) sorry ;)

Loukoum, enter through gate 4, take the first u-turn before you get to the big traffic circle. Go straight and then 3rd road right. The big food court will be on your right. Drive through the parking area and at the next road (still in the parking) turn right, left and right again. You will now be out of the parking area, go straight and the post office will be on your right at the end of the road. It is right behind the Toshiba building which you can see after entering gate 4. Hope that makes sense! It's not very hard to find. Good luck.

Appletiser, thank you for the tip. How advance should I book a car rental? 1 month or more? Saharagypsyrose, I can imagine 5 days not being enough. I have table mountain, waterfront, aquarium, ratanga junction, game reserve, fruit picking, hout bay, cape good hope, and flying dutchman on my list of musts. Is there anything else I've forgotten? I will google Amakhala. Thanks. You have to go around the peninsula for a drive too and definitely spend time at the Clifton and Camps Bay beaches... I agree 5 days even just in CT is not enough.

Home Centre is always a good cheap option but sadly you get what you pay for. I have had two and both times the stitching was skew. Decided to go with Marina this time and although pricey, well worth it, am happy.

I gave ours a gift voucher from MOE as she spends most of her days off there and bought a cake too. She was very touched. I used to give annual increases but see it works better to reward with an annual bonus as a lump sum based on her performance. Keeps her more motivated. ETA our maid already at the top end of salary range so bonus makes more sense. If you feel yours is on the lower end you could of course do both. edited by SweetSugar123 on 20/02/2012

Gratuity is calculated on your final basic salary. However, in your case, when changing jobs you should have requested they put in writing that they would calculate it on your old basic salary until the date you changed jobs and the rest on your new final salary. That's really the fair thing to do. I assume you dont have this so just put in the request now and hope they will be fair and kind towards you. Not sure you have a legal leg to stand on... edited by SweetSugar123 on 19/01/2012

Hi all, I know this can be viewed as a 'how long is a string' type of question but I am interested to hear how different people view this. What would you say is a reasonable amount of money to save each year in Dubai (bearing in mind all costs!)? I know everyone is not here for the savings, some for the lifestyle etc, but if you were, what amount would make it worthwhile and also what amount would make you say at the end of each year, "wow, did great this year on the savings front'? Hope that makes sense, LOL...

My 4 year old has had a fever of 41c for 4 nights in a row now, it drops to 38 with medicine for a few hours and then shoots back up again. During the day it hovers around 38c, but at nighttime is has huge spikes. Dr. said it's a viral infection and just has to work it's way through, just manage it with paracetemol and Nurofen. She has not eaten a bite for days now and is surviving on water and apple juice. Any other kids with a similar bug ? just a fever and nothing else? how long did it take your children to recover? I doubt my older one will be spared, just hope they don't overlap !! edited by MDL on 18/01/2012 MDL, sounds like what my DD had a few weeks back. Dr said the same thing but when she wasnt better 3 days later, I took her back and they picked up it was Strep throat. It wasnt evident first time I took her as she only had the fever a few hours at that stage. She ended up having the fever for 7 days. Not nice :(

My paed always says if the child is active, still playing, eating etc, then there is usually not too much cause for concern and to just keep giving the meds to get the fever under control or to of course sponge her down with tepid water. If 24 hours passed and she has not improved I would take her for a check up though. Sometimes the fever indicates the start of something so if the dr sees her too early they may not be able to pick it up but you also dont want it to go too far before they check her, so 24 hours should be a good timeframe.

38-40 degrees would justify calpol or any other fever reducing meds. If it is consistently above 39 degrees for about 24 hours, meaning it comes and goes very 3-4 hours once the meds have worked through the system, I would consider taking them to the doctor. Depends on your child really. 38 degrees does not overly concern me with my DD as she gets high temps quickly. DS is usually hovering at 36 degrees even when he's sick so when he goes above 38 degrees I am concerned.

Mine's 2.5 years apart but wow, still felt it. As I am not a SAHM and had to rely on someone else to look after the kids when I returned to work, I had no choice but to put them both into routines from the early days so I could ensure she was following what I wanted her to do. That definitely saved the day for me as the day was structured and provided some normality. By the time I went back to work after being home with my newborns for 6 months, I felt comfortable and at peace (I use the word loosely). Both followed the Gina Ford routines and although not for everyone, I liked it and so did DD and DS and up until today, DD is 4 years old and DS almost 2, they are still great sleepers with DS taking his 2 regular day time naps. I leave DD to nap when she is tired only but whether she does or does not, she makes it throigh the night for 12 hours every night. Hope it gets better soon but I would suggest a routine sooner rather than later. It does help and also lets you plan your own time to get other things done. Good luck...

try to give a call at [b'>TOOL TIME at 800-88[/b'> may be you will be required for the payment of call out....as you don't have contract...but they are good. Just called...they have a AED300 call out charge per hour and AED200 for every subsequent hour. Excludes any materials used. Is this normal? Anyone have more suggestions so I can compare? Thanks!

Sounds normal, especially the dizziness and weakness due to the loss of blood, which you may find will be very heavy being the first one PP. Try to take a good iron tablet. Hope you feel better soon.

Personally it doesn't bother me. If I can help I will, if I can't I won't. What they do with that information is their business and I don't expect them to come back and return the favour. All I can suggest is that if you feel so strongly then don't post on those particular threads. :) Agreed. Sums it well up for me.

Hilton RAK every time. Would definitely recommend it. It is a very family friendly hotel though so not sure if you are after a babymoon? If so, maybe somewhere more quiet? Enjoy (sleeping late!).

We always got ours back even in cases where we handed over the keys and received the deposit at a later date. All depends on your LL. Best advice I was given was to always take pics after you have cleaned/touched up/painted etc.

As you are not comfortable with the way it went, I would try a different dermatologist. 3 months is a long time to use a cream you dont feel confident about or do not have enough knowledge of. Good luck.

Sey 83, your DH has a very good point - I might just start doing the same as my DH's phone bill would take 6 months to reach the 2k they are holding of his money! Good argument, if only they saw it that way :( Same like DEWA, you have to settle your final bill before they return your deposit, even if the balance is less than the deposit. Rock and a hard place and you dont want to be blacklisted for less than DHS2,000 which of course they will do if you dont make regular payments. DH got his back after 5 weeks and allot of follow ups on his part...

Nothing to do with the truth or not the truth (that can follow later) but if you want the discussion to be rational and not get into a huge blow up and the message to be completely lost, whic it probably will, go right ahead and accuse from the get go.

I wouldnt go too romantic for a first date but then I wouldnt do PF Changs in a mall either. From your list Mango Tree in Souk Al Bahar seems like the best "middle ground" choice. And there are coffee shops in the Souk too.

OP, chin up. Hope the day wasn't too bad. Leave it for a while to blow over and then sit him down rationally and tell him how this has made you feel. Dont talk about what he did or did not do as he may become defensive just tell him how sad you felt. Hopefully it will strike a chord. Hugs. edited by SweetSugar123 on 11/01/2012

Hi DC, been meaning to ask, how did you get on with the supergranny visit? How is your DS doing now? My DS got the hang of time out and even puts himself in time out but over the past few days he's been really pushing the boundaries intentionally with a huge grin on his face ;) Boys are such a challenge... ;) Good to hear she's recommended! A friend also recommended her and said she made a huge difference to her LO's behaviour, so here's hoping :). I think consistency is definitely key, and that's probably what's been lacking especially recently. I've often been stuck on the sofa feeding DD so when he plays up, I've been pretty ineffective. I don't think he has any friends who may have shown him such aggressive behaviour, so I'm even more mystified as to where he's got it from :\:. I can't think of anyone at all I'd prefer he didn't see, unless I've missed something. Ignoring him definitely seems to upset him. I do try and take away whatever he's thrown, and he then doesn't get to play with it. But again, I probably haven't been consistent enough with it. Dad said the other night he thinks I'm over-compensating for DD being around, and I think he may have a point. I've been feeling sorry for him having to share me now, and almost grieving the time we used to have together with just us, so I think I've probably been letting him get away with too much and Dad thinks he's taking advantage. I'm sure he's right but I can't help but feel he's losing out on my time, even though he'll just have to get used to it and he's not alone in having to share attention! :\::\::\:
