Anyone sponsored by an employer needs an exit permit to leave. This is issued by the employer It's not fun, but it's the way it is here. There's always talk of abolishing the system but so far it hasn't happened. For a wife sponsored by her husband, no exit permit is required to leave. For a husband sponsored by his wife, it's required sometimes but not consistently. There is an option for a mulitple-exit permit which allows unlimited exits for a year, and this is totally at the discretion of the employer. Some allow it, others don't. If you don't have an multi-exit, you can't save a single exit permit for emergencies. A single exit permit is valid for 1 week from date of issue. Thank you that's quite an useful information. Do u think there are few more important things one must know?

So each time one wants to fly out from Doha we need a permit. Why so? And who provides that? Can we apply for extra permits for emergency and keep it handy?

AJ is pretty central, he'll be fine in any area but I would stay north of Salwa Rd and would personally choose West Bay. Thanks. So West Bay is a locality I presume. But from what I read rents are pretty high.

Hi, first and foremost please gather yourself and your thoughts. You need not be an emotional wreck, not just yet. It might turn out to be nothing at all... But since you are so worried it definitely means your instinct is telling you something. So calm down, gather your thoughts be strong and talk to your husband. He should know how this friendship is bothering you. My husband had a friendship before marriage and when I told him how uncomfortable I feel about him meeting this lady alone for lunch or dinner he stopped interacting with her. For him our relationship was more important. So talk to your husband before presuming anything. You are stressing a lot and this will only make you unhappy. And please don't cry without anybody even having a clue of your grief.

U have covered almost everything in your list... But u can go to baptism site (Jesus was Baptised) of river Jordan on your way to Dead sea and also Moses spring. Petra is a must see butwith two kids Petra might get little tough, coz even if u take horse ride it wont go the whole way...u have to walk a lot. Also within Amman there's a Roman ampitheatre and other Roman ruins all around Amman. Jordan is beautiful.

Make sure you are not charging your batteries overnight etc. Your batteries should only ever be charged until full, i.e. about an hour of charging. Buy a new battery and start again, no overnight charging! I bought a new battery recently, it worked fine for a day or two and now back to square one :(

We still don't have a clue about what's actually going on. The flooding happened around 10 or something but I noticed there was something amiss only around 1 in the morning when the explosion in the dewa plant neat the Battuta china court woke us up. All this was around the Gardens. Some say there was a fire near DG too, but we really don't know. Hope no one's hurt. Oh my, dewa plant exploding sounds really serious, and the local media don't seem aware of anything yet. Wonder what if anything is being done about it.[/ No this website has an article http://www.emirates247.com/news/emirates/severe-flooding-and-explosive-fire-in-jebel-ali-gardens-2013-07-19-1.514760

satwa may end up being a bit cheaper than dragonmart as you can get away with some amount of bargaining... the chinese are more difficult to bargain with unless you're buying in bulk Mine is just an experimental exercise, so I won't buy in bulk... and travelling to Dragonmart will be difficult for me since husband not around. Thanks.

Dragonmart has everything you need... tons of stalls selling beads, chain, charms, attachments etc etc. Seems to be where most jewellery makers out here get their things from! Go in the very front entrance and there's one place that looks a bit like a department store on the left and they have 2 units in there that sell beads etc. Hope that helps! Thanks a ton Admin :)

Does this sound like the man in the picture? We are veering from what the actual thread is all about... This is not about the vocabulary treasure each one has ... The description in the first para has no resemblance with the picture.. Hence even if the sentence structure is correct or the heavy duty words used is exemplary it makes no sense...

I have not reported him to authorities as he has been brilliant, work and attitude wise. I do not know why he actually entered the house and did not ring the bell to gauge my attention as he usually does so I keep wondering. A small token offer was given. U did the right thing I guess but you should have warned him at least not to repeat...

To clarify... He has one key to the main gate entrance (garden, pool etc), the main house is served by 4 doors. All but one are usually locked when not in use during night and day - just the main front door I leave open to go in and out (I am a housewife and when I do go out, the main front door is locked also. I tend to be here on the two days he visits. He always rings the main gate video/intercom system before letting himself in to do the garden - just on this occasion he entered the main front door and came into the kitchen where I was working on my laptop. He was given a token gesture (not a full months' salary) and immediately told to leave and that his sponsor would be informed of entering the property of his own volition. Duly done. He was supposed to come yesterday but did not show. Still awaiting to hear from LL as to the outcome (which as his sponsor, he saw fit to do). Yes, he is a Muslim. I think u did the right thing. Even I wud have been startled if someone entered my house unannounced. But I wud let him go with a warning n won't inform the police, that will be little too much. A token n not full month's salary is a good gesture

That's not true this is not about Western woman... I m not one but I have seen man wink at me in Satwa near the post office... He did that twice n smiled. I waited for my companion to get back then went inside his shop n blasted him off... Again once on my way back from office I was walking back from metro station in Dubai Marina a delivery guy followed me and started calling me... He came till my building... I gave him a peace of my mind n called the manager. Threatened to call the police. So u see its not just Western ladies who face this. Men!

Hi friends, what is Thread Count, why does it matter and how do we find out about TC? Yes, I feel White Company is always expensive. Thread count is how many threads per inch of fabric. It is a way to measure the coarseness of material. Usually, the higher the thread count the silkier the fabric will feel. Usually it is indicated on the package. edited by Gummy on 03/07/2013 Ahh I thought so.. But wanted a clearer picture. Thanks :)

U start feeling giddy and throwing up only after u get migraine (headache) not before that... Once u have the headache u won't be able to stand on ur feet..the throbbing is too much... I have migraine n it's just unbearable. No amount of painkillers help, food is not a good option then, all I need is dark noise proof room to sleep after my painkillers. Ur case seems something's else. S Consult a doc before it turns to anything serious... Make sure u don't go empty stomach for long n keep drinking water, specially during summer

I really think it's an exaggeration of the entire situation. It was an accident that should not have happened but I am sure that was not done deliberately. As for not showing any empathy, yes they are guilty. But suing for ur sleepless night! And moreover you did not suffer any lasting injury... No I wouldn't sue if I were in your place. Just stop going there... They lose a valuable customer. Also ask ur friends to avoid such a place.... Their loss. Cheer up and move on :)

they also add things like yogurt / sour cream / buttermilk to their cakes to lighten / moisten them which may counter the gluten hardening effects. I tried adding buttermilk to my scones instead of plain milk and it truly works! Same for muffins. That's true TDB, they often use buttermilk. Can't say I've ever used or even bought it in my life. I do a mean Honey and walnut cake and it uses Yoghurt .. Its delicious. ! Buttermilk is used in my recipe for red velvet cake too :) If it's not too much of a hassle please share with us the recipe :D .... And egg substitute if u r using eggs.

As an American and a home baker who makes lots of cakes: 1. We do beat the batter ferociously - but only at the beginning and only with the butter, sugar and eggs. When you beat the butter and sugar together you're whipping air into the batter, making the butter as light as possible. This helps to make for a fluffier cake. Part of the trick is to slowly add sugar over time rather than dumping all of it on the butter at once (which will lead to a denser cake). After the last of the sugar has been added, we add the eggs, one by one, and keep beating for a very fluffy batter. I've successfully eliminated the need for any leavening through long beating times. However, once flour is added we do not beat the heck out of the batter as that would only develop the gluten in the flour. If you look at the shows closely you'll notice that the flour stage is only gently beating and folding till the last of the flour is incorporated, and that's that. The flour is almost always added alternatively with some dairy product - milk, sour cream or yoghurt, but rarely cream (cream makes the batter denser). Americans favor light and airy layer cakes whereas the rest of the Anglo world tends to prefer denser cakes. edited by Tallybalt on 11/06/2013 What ingredient do u suggest Tallybalt instead of egg n a cake? I really don't fancy these chemicall egg substitute. My husband 'G' is allergic to egg. Since my marriage my cake menu has shrinked :(

Ultrasonic fat reduction really doesn't work. The only non-invasive treatment with proven and consistent result is cyro, where they freeze the fat. I think it's quite expensive. Excess carbs, wheat, alcohols and sugars in the diet will contribute proportionally more fat to the abdominal area. If you cut down carbs to under 100g a day and eliminate all breads, pastas, white rice, alcohol and sugars then you will see some improvement. Apart from that, it's really hard to lose fat from a specific area, unfortunately Yes I think the no carbs diet helps... I practiced it for a month and saw some results. but I guess for abdominal fat I have to try harder. It's difficult to maintain no carbs diet though...

There is an affordable treatment that does magic!!! It uses ultrasound to beak down fat, it is ultrasonic fat reduction. You need multiple treatment depending on your size. BTW it is done in Dr.'s office. Check it out I m scared of these treatments... dont think i am that desperate :D As I understand , it's like a ultrasound for pregnant ladies but you feel a little heat! You walk away and you see results as days goes by, since your own immune system will clean up the broken fat!!! Sounds interesting... i would also like to see few more options... but definitely do my research on this one. thanks
