I recently moved and this basket of prate DVD's was heavy and annoyed me so for that my decision to copy them all to an harddrive and gift them away if someone wants or destroy them. I have to check on the specs. My friends who have a Mac have it only for prestige, my father has his fourth laptop and a desktop and swears of Mac. RuthM, thank you so much for all the details, will borrow tonight an other laptop to compare the speed, and perhaps two laptops it will be faster:)

Lol! It should only take 8-20minutes to rip a dvd. You need to get a faster drive as yours is wayyyy too slow. At the moment I use to company laptop:) have no own laptop. I want to wait until november to buy me new laptop, that what everyone advised me. Was thinking of a Mac but so expensive. I am now either on Samsung, Dell, Sony. Carrefour had the other one a good Samsung i7 (3rd generation) 8GB ram and 1TB storage for 4300 AED Still wondering if I should invest a bit more and get a Mac. I have no idea. I really need a laptop only for EW, FB, e mails, TV and downloading of movies and music and a bit of Microsoft office... Anyway thats a different topic then what I asked. Will have to wait then until November to get this whole basket of DVD's on a drive

Looking for a place who does laser. The Laser should not be painful as I want to get the Bikini done. I had it done twice in a place with IPL which was not painful at all I didn't notice anything, however the closed down. I tried another place and it was very unpleasant. Where do you go where the laser is not painful ? and how much do you pay?

There was an area where I bought so many ( pirate) DVD's , now I would like to save some space in my shelf and copy them all to an external harddrive. What would be the fastest way? At the moment I try to copy each night one ( if the cats don't jump on it and cancel it)

I didn't had a laptop for the last two years, used company laptop but it is a bit restrictive so I need my own. I was thinking of an i5 or i7 with 8GB Ram and 500GB HHD or better 256GBSSD On my research came out a Mac Pro, Sony or Samsung but the price was not what I budgeted. Budget is between 2500-3500AED Which laptop features and brand do you recommend? Still would like an i5 or i7 with 8GB ram

SkyKitty, thats a funny thing, I thought about a similar way. Will try it, the small one will be for sure up to this idea and the older one does what the smaller one shows him. The young one is 5 month old and the older one 5 years both found on the street in one week and the older one didn't know anything about fun now he rund to try to catch his tail as the small one does it some times... edited by Tigerente on 26/08/2012

The Dangerous Blonde i am so with you. As my once were street cats I try to keep them inside as much as possible. The balcony is on the first floor and when I go on the balcony they are crying the **** out as they want to be with me. underneath is a fenced garden. I have two cats and the smaller one is so clever that it jumps through my legs to get on the balcony. The fence is more a security that when they get out that I have a chance to catch them:) I would never leave them unattended and want to have even the ceiling coverd as a second step.

Also I would make sure to have at least 2 boxes. Rule of thumb that is usually advised is one box per cat + 1. So if you have 2 cats ideally you would have 3 boxes. I know that probably sounds like alot, but if you have only one box, maybe it's getting "full" during the day with 2 cats. Cats are normally clean and perhaps he didn't mean to step in his poo, but was trying to avoid stepping in something else that was already in the box. edited by Laura74 on 23/08/2012 I have two boxes which have both the small lid, will go tonight and buy the really closed one:), do not think it helps when they step in or if the small litter stones are in their paws. My 7 year old is also rescued from the street and is the cleanest cat ever. When he was still with me here I used the same litter as I have now. At the moment he is living with my parents in Germany. The new rescues 5 years old and 6 month old are different. Unfortunately the five year old he steps every day in his poo and I clean in the morning before I leave the house and in the evening. Eevery second weekend I wash the toilets out and give totally new litter. the 6 month old loves the roll around in the litter even when dirty. I try to tell him off. As I said I tried now 4 different kind of litter which didn't help. I changed from a normal cat toilet to the one with the lid now I will try the totally closed one. So they will have 3 toilets. The toilets are in the guest WC. Who is a cat whisperer to tell both to sit on the human toilet. :) Ladies please do not take me wrong, I love my cats, they are the most amazing guys!

You can't leave cats outside on a balcony! Put the litter tray in a bathroom. I use the crystal stuff, it's much better. No worries Chocs01 I would never leave the cats outside at the balcony but I was thinking to have a catdoor integrated in the balcony door and keep the litter at the balcony. I saw it the other day in a friends place. Would never have considered that but I never experienced such dirty cats, they are the most loveable ones but dirty... The litter is all over the place, it is stuck in their paws and they through it out of the litter. As i mentioned I tried different litter and there is no difference for my cats. Then the older one when he made a big poo in the litter instead of putting the litter on it he steps into his poo and throughs the litter out and then his poo is on the sofa, table, floor, my bed. Sorry to be so detailed but do not want to sound that I am an horrible person to consider to have the toilet on the balcony. I am desperate I can not keep up with cleaning.

I have only one CC which is a silver EK card to earn EK miles. However yesterday the atm swallowed my CC telling me I have put the wrong Pin, well I had no chance to put the Pin... well I wanted to purchase today a flight ticket online which is difficult without CC So I decided to have a second CC for emergencies, which one would you recommend? Would be great if the card would allow to collect EK miles.

I stopped going out to places like Barasti, I am afraid that I will never find a guy.I think the only way you find a decent partner is through friends. friend of a friend ... I do not need someone who wants to show off and on the end its only hot air Is it so difficult to find someone who likes animals, likes to go out for a nice dinner, cook together a nice dinner, and who is taller then I am and doesn't feel that i am stupid that I do not speak a correct english

I was always under the impression and even my insurance broker had given me the same information last February. A non-resident, driving a car from a resident here in Dubai needs to have the international driving license converted here at the RTA to a temporary driving license. I have been today at the RTA and they told me that’s not possible anymore and non-residents are only allowed to drive rent a cars. They informed even if the insurance would cover the non-resident driver and in case of an accident the car would be insured however the driver would be jailed as he would not have a license recognized in the UAE. Is this really true? TIA

Thanks for your feedback, I know it is a tied budget, the al wahaibi building in al Sufouh is very reasonable but unfortunately no pets allowed. i am not sure if its really so strict for cats but I do not want to risk it. Al Barsha near MOE there are a lot of apartments in this price range but then I think it is mouth to mouth recommendation which building is good. If evryone else has a suggestion I am happy for any advise.

ok, I would be fine to try the QOD Max. Is there anywhere I could purchase the product but only for one treatment to try the product an result out on my hair? I am hesitant to purchase 0.5 liter which would last for 3-4 treatments and later I waste it as I do not like it

What is the difference of QOD max and QOD gold? I would rather want to buy the product for one treatment to try. Is there a rule when you are able to colour your hair after or before treatmen?
