Oo these sound lush. Are speckaloos chocolate sprinkles? I guess you mix it all together and make little balls ? Do you dust them in icing sugar? Oh sorry, being lazy, i'll look up Rumballs on google. Thank you ?

I went to Lifestyle and Paperchase (the one in Borders) this morning. They have jewellery trees but not any in the shape of a hand. Lifestyle have lots of lovely ones too but my daughter fell in love with one she saw at a friend's house a couple of weeks ago. Being a teenager it's getting harder to buy her surprises for Christmas so I thought this would be a perfect pressie. I saw one of an upright arm and hand in New Look but they use it to display jewellery and they wouldn't sell it to me ? edited by TJC on 12/12/2013

Hi, I am looking for a jewellery stand in the shape of a hand for my daughter as a Christmas present. It's for rings and bracelets really. Just wondering if any of you know where I could buy one?

I have to agree with 2 other ladies, the Honda Odyssey is fab. The a/c is fantastic. Sliding doors for the kds are great as no worries with doors accdentally hitting other parked cars etc. Loads of room and extremely comfortable.

Yes, it's all very age appropriate. The 2 ladies that run it are both mums of 5/6 year olds so are very aware of parents' concerns. You discuss with them exactly what u want, right down to the music. My daughter chose 2 outfits, jeans and party dress so half the pics are of them all casual and fun in their denims and the rest are all hair and make up and party frocks. It was lovely really. They provide, hair, make up, accessories, welcome fizzy ' pamchagne' and of course their expertise. Lights, camera, action as they say ;)

I'd thought about going down the henna route, but it only lasts a couple of weeks apparently. That's why I fancied the tattooing that can last a couple of years. I think I might wait till I go back to the UK for summer. ;). Thank you ladies for your replies. edited by TJC on 19/02/2012

Can anyone recommend a good technician for eyebrow tattooing? I saw it done on "10 years younger" and the results were amazing.

Lulus sell them. I bought my daughter one in November. It holds around 14 cans on 2 levels, but you can take out the shelf to store bottles. It's really cute and retro style. It will keep things nicely chilled but can also be used to keep things warm! I think it was around 150dhs.

Well, i've been here 11 years and always send my letters and small packages from Lamcy plaza post office or there's one in the outer wall of the Arabian Centre on Airport road. However I would never use them again for Express delivery...lost a very important document at New Year.

Yes, we use it all the time. It's lovely, not greasy, batter gorgeous. U get 2 pieces of fish in each portion and loads of chips. Approx 35dhs for cod and chips, altho I tend to order hammour. They always give you tartare sauce, salt and vinegar too.

Incredibly it's a huge problem in the UAE. We all use high factor sunscreen, the locals cover up, we stay out of the sun as much as possible. But we all need a good 10min dose a day for optimum Vit D. Unfortunately it's not enough to get the vitamin through diet. Our skin needs sunlight to synthesise the Vitamin in our bodies, which is Vit D3. This in turn helps us to absorb the calcium from foods. But as we get older our skin's ability to do this lessens. I've been taking a Vit D3 supplement for 4 months now because I was always tired, kipping on the sofa, yawning, no energy, tearful even. I have to say I feel sooo much better and am pretty sure my hair and skin have improved too. I don't know what strength of supplement is best, but after research I chose 25mcg (1,000iu) once a day which i take after my breakfast or lunch.

They can ban you from Dubai, I don't think they can ban you from other GCC countries. But then again, who owns your current school?? They may well have connections all over the region!!

Totally agree with Dally. Look, if you follow your heart and not your head then you had better make sure that you don't come back. You will be arrested on arrival. Its only a few more months after all. You can have your summer with your OH and then get back here and hand in your notice towards the end of term 1. Mind you, you need to get your passport renewed pronto!

When I had this trouble last summer, I threw out all my spices, the ginger was alive!! But I still kept getting a few roaming the cupboard. After checking every single tub, pot, jar, they were actually coming from my pepper pot, through the little holes on the top of the shaker. Not had any problem since, except of course in brand new sealed rice or flour. My mum said that it was no better in the UK when we were kids. She just used to sieve the flour and throw out the bugs, couldn't afford to throw out the whole bag....yuk!!

5 weeks today and it's still not back. I rang the helpline this morning and after just over a minute, the recorded message said they are having technical problems and are unable to advise on status of applications at this time!!! They debited our cc on 14th May. When I sent it off on May 3rd, the guy at the DHL counter said we'd get it back in 10 days!!! Bless him ;)

Totally agree BM. 10 minutes outside at around 10am is good for them. The Vit D from sunshine is so important, yet so deficient in the majority of people here. But I am against the later break being outside now especially for the little ones.
