A horrible situation and my heart and prayers go out to you. I want to say something that I don't think I've seen in other posts, but then I haven't read them all... please don't leave him alone with the kids if you can help it. While I am loathe to make you any more alarmed than you might already be, while he is this unstable, is there a chance he might hurt himself and the kids? There have certainly been times when husbands have snapped and decided to kill the kids and themselves. I know you have said he has not been violent, but is his behaviour escalating? I agree with the posters that you need to report the latest incident to someone official - a doctor or the police. Just so there is a third party who has it on record should you need it for legal reasons (custody etc).

Azaiba was trying to start a fight and you have taken her bait. It is off topic. The OP knows what she wants to do, she came in asking where to go, not whether or not she should do it. Why can't respondents just stick to the topic? If you want to bash botox, start your own thread - it is a different topic to this one. edited by Umm Ali on 11/02/2013 edited by Umm Ali on 11/02/2013

Just tell them there are strict viewing times. Eg twice a week - Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 to 12 noon or whatever suits you. If they turn up late, too bad - shut the door on them a couple of times and they will get the message and make sure they keep to your allotted times and there should be no need for them to call and rearrange an appointment.

Ya, totally agree with your strategy NF. Shame you can't go back when you look like you're half asleep though, LOL. I will just have to wait till it wears off. That's the good thing about botox. Like a bad haircut, it will never be permanent. Think I will try some of the doctors mentioned in this thread below next time. Or wait for my home visit perhaps... Blondie please check in and tell us how you went with Dr El Hoshy. I hope it goes OK for you.

Ah ya, well, El Hoshy is a nice guy and seems to know what he's doing. It's just for me - 2 times and both times about 70% happy - I will try someone else. Or maybe I should just give up and let old age take me? No, I will go down fighting. It is probably just statistics, yes? Remember with the fillers - they will last longer in areas where you use the muscles less. So for eg bags under eyes - no real expression muscles there - they last maybe 2 - 3 years. Marionette lines less so because you use that area for smiling. Don't smile = no lines, hah haa. edited by Umm Ali on 06/02/2013

Most of that time was in my home country. I have tried 2 different guys here and neither has done as good a job as in my home country. First was Jaffar Khan, second El Hoshy. Both highly reputed. I use my eyebrows a lot for expression so do not like to have them numbed. Khan did the opposite of what I wanted. For 3 months I couldn't raise my eyebrows but I could still frown. El Hoshy did a bit better but gave me sleepy hooded eyes - my eyes didn't open as much and I looked (and felt tired). In my home country, since 2007 I've used about 5 different practictioners all in the same surgery. No problem with any of it. 6 small injections and I looked like I had a face lift - everything relaxed but still with expression - took years off. I don't know...I will try someone new I think. I do notice when the Botox wears off my headaches return more regularly so it does help with that.

No, they don't both fill in lines. A lot of the headlines in the press are misleading and demonstrate a misunderstanding of how each product works. Botox freezes the muscles so it is preventative, it doesn't fill them. Fillers plump up the lines making them less visible but don't stop the muscles working so you will still have wrinkles which with use, will ultimately get worse. 2 very different jobs. The frown marks you mention between your eyes - you could use filler to plump them out but still have expression. Or you could use botox to weaken the muscles so you can't frown as deeply. A good practitioner will do just enough so that you can still make some expressions. I have had botox there for 7 years, and no one knows but my frown marks have got no worse. The marionette lines (I think that's what they call them) down either side of your nose and around your mouth would need fillers to plump them out and make them less visible. Hope that explains it.

Well, you'd think that if you'd signed Emaar's Security Form for the Company that employs your gardener, that should be enough to demonstrate that it's all legitimate. I guess the only thing Emaar would do is check their records to see if anyone has reported a stolen bike...if they could be bothered. I think if I had an expensive bike stolen I might give the security guard on the gate a picture of it as well as call the Police.

Well, just my opinion - if she just sticks to the facts she is doing the right thing by everyone - the community and the gardener. If it is all innocent, then the truth will come out that he was "hiding the bike to stop it from being stolen" and he will be able to name who ever or wherever he got the bike from. If the situation is malevolent then he will have to pay his dues for the decision he made to take the bike unlawfully. Either way, she has done the right thing and her conscience should be clear I think. I hope we hear what happens as I like good mystery story :)

Correct. That's why I said she should tell them the facts of the other incidents and that the path may ultimately lead them to the Gardener anyway. But she should make it very clear what are facts and what are opinions.

I think I would have just told him ' no more storing at my house'. But maybe I am too soft also! Yes, well, I did that after the vacuum cleaners and other bike out the front situation ... so -- even though our communication isn't the best due to language difficulties -- he should know the score. The thing is: while this new addition to the garden isn't exactly hidden from view, it is nestled in a part which is quite leafy and covered; it was only because I saw the illuminated headlamps under the bushes that I knew it was there ... which suggests to me, maybe, that the intention WAS to keep it from my attention. I'm not going to blame the gardener when the police, hopefully, make their call this afternoon. I'm just going to say, as I did on the phone, that it appeared and I don't know how it got there. i wouldn't necessarily lie to the police here. That's not lying to the police. It is stating the facts. She did not see the gardener put it there. It may not have been him - especially since she has asked him before not to leave things in her garden. It is the job of the police to do a proper investigation and ascertain who dumped the bike and why. If they do their job professionally, they will probably ask her whether she has any previous experiences of things being dumped etc and she can tell them the facts of those incidents too. The path may ultimately lead to the gardener, but she can only give the Police the facts as they stand not aspersions.

Reupholstering the arm in new leather would probably be more obvious than the scratches. The colour of leather will change subtly with wear as it absorbs oils from skin etc. You would never be able to match the seat part. You could try rubbing in some wax or leather conditioner as opposed to cleaner. I thought you were getting rid of that cat, or am I getting mixed up with someone else.

A question about the current entry visa for tourists: Can you have multiple entries into the UAE within the month that the tourist visa lasts? It's probably a stupid question (sorry), but when we've had visitors previously we've never actually taken them out of the UAE and I now have some coming who would like to go to Musandam for a few days but am unsure whether this is possible.

No it is a breach of [b'>civil [/b'>law, Captain America. Criminal law is used to maintain social order. In every country I know of, it is the law enforced by police. Crimes are serious breaches of the criminal law such as murder, sexual assault and theft. Less serious crimes are sometimes called misdemeanours or summary offences. You cannot sue or be sued under criminal law but you can be prosecuted (or charged) – usually by the police. Civil law deals with the rights and duties of persons towards each other. Civil law applies when people (or companies) do “civil wrongs” against each other. Common civil wrongs include negligence and breaching a contract. In civil law there is an attempt to right the wrong, or settle the dispute. A victim may get compensation, and the person who caused the wrong pays. Civil law is not enforced by the police. You can sue or be sued by someone under civil law.

If your LL will not pay the service charge, then go to the police. If your child is being bullied by a teacher, then haul that teachers a$$ to the heads office. Stop trusting people to do the right thing. It is your responsibility to follow through and make sure that everyone is qualified and being honest with you. If there is room for doubt, then dig until you are sure. The service charge issue is not between the LL and the tenant. It is a contract that has been breached between the LL and Emaar. I would expect that Emaar are the only ones who can go to the Police in this matter. Many people would not know that Police would handle this matter here. Are you sure this is accurate information anyway? I know of no other place in the world where the Police would chase up breaches of contract. Usually they fight crime! I suspect the people you accuse of "moaning" actually think they are doing a community service by keeping people up to date with what is going on in their neighbourhood. If it bothers you, don't read it. Personally I am grateful to read what is going on as I will learn from their experiences. 6 months ago I would not have thought that I need to get a receipt from a prospective landlord that demonstrates they have paid their community fee!

Generally with hook curtains you can buy a strip of material by the metre that has been pre-sewn to put the hooks into. You just need to sew it across the top of the curtain. However, if your curtain has eyelets in it, if you don't want it to look ugly, you'd probably need someone to trim the eylet section off (eg take the first 10 cms off the top of the curtain), hem it then sew the hook material on to it I suppose. you can probably purchase the hook material from somewhere in Satwa.

The auto setting on a Kenwood as I understand it effectively puts it on high for a couple of hours then turns it down to low to finish the cooking more gradually. I would use it when I am late putting something in to cook and maybe have only say 5 hours to cook it instead of the usual 8 or 9. It's aim is to get the meat/vegs up to a decent core temperature upon which a low heat can continue cooking them without making them tough.

There are lots of videos on youtube showing you how to apply BM makeup. It's actually really easy once you get the hang of it. I swapped to it when I moved here as everything else just ran off me or caused outbreaks of pimples. I'd say go for the Bare Minerals too! The only other comment I'd make is the last time I purchased it in Sephora I got it home to find that their magnetic security sticker had been stuck on the inside of the lid where you are supposed to swirl the brush around to pick up the powder (...stupid!). When I pulled it off, it pulled off the surface of the lid so now it doesn't swirl very well. I would recommend checking this in the shop, getting them to take the sticker off and if they don't do it well, tell them that's not good enough and get another one until they can get it off without pulling off the smooth surface of the inner lid.
