Have you tried Lulu's? A quick search shows you can order it online from there, so it may be safe to assume it's in store also

There are some pretty good private tutorial colleges in London some of which do accept younger students including: www.duffmiller.com www.davidgamecollege.com ww.mpw.ac.uk www.ashbournecollege.co.uk As former student, I also had friends that attended all of these and have done really well in life. Best of luck

Can anyone recommend where to buy kaftans or cotton tunics please? All the ones I find are really poorly made and tear easily. I wanted to have some tailor-made but also cannot come across any good fabric. Any recommendations please where to find good quality cotton fabrics, threads and tailors please. Thank you so much

Invisalign is only really good if you don't require major alterations. I went the traditional train track route, as it works much faster. Just bear in mind that whichever you use, you WILL need retainers afterwards. As an adult, get the permanent ones put in. If you don't use them, all your teeth will move back and it will have been a waste of time. FairyDust - Just a few questions: How long did you keep the train tracks in for? Did you have any speech difficulties with the retainers and are they difficult to clean? Thanks I had train tracks top and bottom for 9 months - you get used to having a bit of a lisp and it goes away after a while. What many people don't tell you is that braces HURT!!! Especially when you change up the wires to more rigid ones, but they're heat activated, so sipping ice cold drinks of sucking on ice lollies helps. Retainers? No, because I have permanent ones cemented behind my teeth top and bottom. They need a bit of attention when cleaning your teeth, but I forget they're there most of the time. Thank you Fairy Dust for your feedback. I remember when I had them the first around they hurt, that's why I was hoping for an alternative but if this is the quickest root...... actually the permanent retainers don't look so bad as I thought now I have searched them online. I remember a friend had them circa 2003 and they looked awful in those days. Thanks for sharing.

You guys have scared me.. I was not thinking a visit to the doc would be required for losing a few kgs, but was generally worried cause I was already underweight. @ Umm Sofia .. besides weight loss was there any other symptoms that prompted you to go for colonic hydrotherapy? Hi Sash24 - don't be afraid its always good to get a check-up and understand what's going. To answer your question yes - I had already had a major problem with the worst bloating for years and doctors could never understand why, despite having had all kinds of tests nobody ever gave me a conclusion as to what was going on. I would bloat up in an instant after eating certain random foods and it would be so painful, I felt as I were in labour, went to hospital in an ambulance quite a few times only told be told there is nothing wrong with me. Then one day I met a nurse who told me that she had colon hydrotherapy and felt amazing. Once she told me foods can get stuck for 30 + years in the intestine as had been her case, I went on a hunt to find a treatment locally..It was a life changer for me, I didn't bloat for many years after that one session but discovered other detox methods that have been very helpful to me since ie. Detox treatment from Organic Pharmacy - www.theorganicpharmacy.com/health-beauty/detox-kit/197 Islamic fasting Senna Leaf Tea and have discovered wet cupping (Hijama) although I didn't get around to this yet, has been highly recommended by family members. I agree with the lady above that having some tests as a good idea then you can plan the safest way to move forward safely. I hope everything goes well for you.

Hi Sash24, I am sorry to hear about your weight loss, people sometimes don't realise how difficult it is to gain weight and can be so judgmental about it. I lost 18kg despite eating well and everyone who knew me and bumped into me couldn't conceal their shock, which made stress out even more and feel so ugly. Despite my own efforts to gain weight, it was only when I started seeing my sternum and collar bones really sticking out that I panicked and went to see nutritionist Dr. Nathalie at www.right-bite.com and started on their meal plan. She advised me to eat less more often (5 times per day) and do work with weights. Just before starting on her diet, I went for colonic hydrotherapy at the Dubai Herbal & Treatment Centre www.dubaihtc.com and the doctor there was shocked at the condition of my colon, said I was the worst case she had seen in her whole career. I think this was a really really crucial step because I wasn't getting the essential nutrients I needed from all the 'clogging' in the intestine. Highly recommend these two. Best of luck

Hi Lou101 Please be really careful looking for belly dancers that don't come through an entertainment booking agency as you might get more than you bargained for...... It might be easier for you to arrange your party at a 'reputable' location that has Arabic entertainment as part of it's programme. I would check out the venue in advance to see that the place and the atmosphere is to your liking.

Some good services in Dubai that we have found helpful: www.fetchr.us/ - for picking stuff up and dropping things off www.deliveroo.ae - for restaurant food delivery www.my-pa.ae - Personal Assistant services www.quintessentially.com/uae.html - for Concierge/Lifestyle management services www.dreamdays.ae - for activities, experiences and gifts www.theentertainerme.com/Dubai-N-Emirates/products/mobile/entertainer-dubai-mobile-2017 for restaurant/spa deals www.cobone.com/en/deals/dubai - for special deals and discounts www.panemirates.com - sometimes you can catch some nice furniture at good prices www.alhuzaifa.com - can get some great deals during their annuals sales Also the Al Quoz area has a lot of hidden gems for furnishings, I bought a whole dinning room of handmade of extremely high quality handmade Indian furniture that would have cost a fortune from the bigger known names, might be worth while to drive around and take a look Good luck

I posted a job ad last week for a female secretarial position on a behalf of a relative and I have not only been bombarded with 100s of CVs but I received two phone calls from men applying for the job at 3.30 am on a week day and 6.00 am on a Friday. I was also shocked by the amount of lies I unraveled during phone interviews. CV's are becoming fancier in design but i'm finding content more and more doctored and far fetched and candidates are unable to back up the claims on their CVs. I think its tough at the moment in both directions to find trustworthy candidates as well as employers unfortunately. I always suggest to look through international sites that post jobs that are based here ie. The Guardian newspaper always lists jobs in the Gulf, just type keyword Dubai or Emirates as you see there are quite a few jobs listed at the moment. https://jobs.theguardian.com/jobs/?Keywords=dubai#browsing - or if you fancy a job as PA, Tutor, Event Organiser, Cook or Housekeeper to VIP Families, Executive Offices, London Domestic Staff agencies do post jobs with some amazing salaries. Just look in the jobs available section regularly, send your CV, you can have a phone interview. These are some of the best in London: www.beauchamppartners.co.uk www.hutchinsons-staff.com www.greycoatlumleys.co.uk www.quintessentiallypeople.com Also create google alerts to find jobs and get info straight to your in box as it comes up Do a search of the companies in your field, apply directly, find out who the HR Managers are and contact them. Attend exhibitions and network as much as possible Look at your transferrable skills and apply for job in a different industry Best of luck to you, I know it's really tough right now

I have always bought mine from The One, Frette ( used to be in Burjuman), Carre Blanc ( Mall of the Emirates) but my favourites are from Debenhams, the Sheridan brand has been great and lasts for years. I haven't been to Bloomingdale's for years in Dubai Mall but I think they had some good quality bedding if I am not mistaken..... I have been also looking to try and get some sets from the US: www.easternaccents.com www.williams-sonoma.com/shop/home-bedding www.horchow.com/Bedding/All-Bed-Linens/cat20260734_cat000072_cat000000/c.cat and from the UK www.harrods.com/home/bedding?viewall=yes Can get some awesome bargains if you have any friends or family to pop in during the sale especially on the final day - can get some crazy discounts, out of sale may seem very expensive but if well taken care of can last 30+ years. Good luck!

Hi LailaBegum You just need to go to the Notary Public, take both passport copies with visa pages, they will send you to the typing office and you need to bring it back to the notary to sign. Thanks Girls. RAK is too far for us as we need access to the airport. Work will be based in Ajman. I will look into Mushrief Ummsofia. Thanks. Do you live in Ajman yourself? @brbiyer I did for a while. Personally I thought that Mushrief was the best area. It's mainly a local area, but there are two lovely parks and a walking track. It peaceful and you would think that you are in Jumeirah. Some parts of Jurf are also nice but the prices have doubled in some areas in the last few years. Please be aware that this is one of the few Emirates where you have to pay the annual sewage in advance. There are some other areas on the border of Ajman/Sharjah with beautiful huge villas called Rahmania. You are more likely to find better deals for property rental in the Arabic papers or in places like http://ae.waseet.net/en/site/ajman/index/ Good luck!

purchasing online from China is always a tricky game! more often than not I prefer to use that only as my last resort! for larger weddings we actually just go to China and source directly from there... but in your case that would not be feasible... my suggestion would be this... go to the Deira textile souq (old Naif bazaar) and buy the fabric you like in bulk... whether satin / lycra / silk / linen and then take it to a tailor in burdubai or satwa and get the fabric hemmed or tailored to your requirement... that way you are in complete control of fabric/quantity/quality/price for other elements such as charger plates/etc depending on the quantity you are looking for you can purchase also from Deira or then directly from home stores (you would need to talk to somebody in their headoffice to order the specific quantity for you)... for example when I needed these vintage looking photoframes and candlebra from HomeCentre I just got in touch with their Branch Head who then connected me to their Purchasing and they block ordered the items for their next shipment and sold it to me at their retail price (which was way cheaper than anything I found in Dragonmart)... this did take time though coz their shipments only come in every three weeks or so... if you have enough time do a test order for something that is not very important from Alibaba... I once ordered tulle table skirting and was quite happy with what was delivered... so it's probably worth a shot for a not so high price ticket item. all the best... and feel free to ping back if you need any more advice @HorizonMum2 Thank you so much for your very helpful response! Very interesting to know, I didn't realise wedding planners went all the way to China. I was under the impression, especially here in the GCC the local planners just bought everything locally or from Lebanon, hence some crazy prices. Yes, I really wanted to have things tailored but don't know where to begin. Home Centre do have some really nice blingy centre piece items that I spot once in a while and I did wonder if they gave bulk discount. Thank you so much for sharing this. I was wondering if you could possibly give me an idea please? Do you think any Wedding Planner here would undertake the design of the wedding, ie. help me style the wedding, get all the bits and pieces, carry out some mock ups here? We have a local wedding planner at the destination who is very helpful but they have no clue when it comes to design or decorations and I am worried because we are forced to choose this location because of so many elderly family members who cannot travel.

hi... congratulations on ur BIG day! i'm a planner and while I can't comment on what the rates are of other planners here I can definitely share my own charges with you. My charges are very straightforward - 15% of the spend booked through me. So, for example, if you book the photographer through me and his/her charges were 10K, then you would be paying me 15% of that as the booking and coordination charges. While this might seem unreasonable at first thought bear in mind a few key elements: - the rates of services booked through me are more often than not better rates (at least 20% lesser) than rates booked directly with the supplier - if you are booking 10 different suppliers from hair to venue to photographer to florist to linens to cars you still only have to deal with one point of contact - me! - I would also help you shortlist photographers without you having to call and research on those available in the market some planners are already tied up with specific venues/suppliers/artists and would insist you pick from those... I prefer to be more flexible in that approach as in my nine years of experience in the field I've realized that some couples prefer spending more on décor while others would prefer spending more on the venue and yet others who are on a tight budget for the whole event. Hence I have a range of suppliers that I work with (and can even work with your own contacts as well) to fit the couple's individual budgets. and if you're a bride like I was and want to be in control of everything then I even offer on the day wedding coordination and charge roughly 500dhs an hour for the same... anyway let me know if you need help with more info... I'm happy to advise further... not going to leave a link or anything on here unless asked lest I be kicked off the forum for advertising (sorry mods)... @HorizonMum2 I was wondering if you could help at all with your expertise. I am helping my cousin with her wedding in Europe and the location of the wedding is really complicated in terms of decoration. We have access to stunning flowers and a great location but everything else over there is basic and I am looking at purchasing or making the table accessories over here and shipping it there (table cloths, chair covers, tissue box covers, charger plates, candle holders etc...). I noticed the most fancy wedding organisers do order a lot of their products from China as well as having things locally made. I have been to Dragon Mart and there prices are nothing like a few years ago. I found them very expensive and quality..... not so good. I have looked on Alibaba.com and seen some nice things but from experience, what you buy online is not what you get through the post. Do you have any suggestions please, I would really appreciate your advice. Thank you so much.

You need someone skilled who understands the need to keep her body moving to prevent bedsores. This is not a long term solurion, bur if you need someone good then why not have her admitted in Rashid Hospital while you look? She would have full care. She would be in a shared ward with other bed rodden patients. When you say young if you mean over 21 then this is an option. And you can ask the nurses there if they know any professionals looking for work. I wish you all the luck in the world finding someone. Blue Sky Sun, thank you so much for your response. It is a very complicated situation legally and medically .I prefer not to discuss the background here so that I don't get anyone in trouble. We are trying to move her to another facility, her mother was her carer and just died today completely unexpectedly, she was fine 2 days ago and the young lady is alone as her husband struggles to work to pay for treatment. We cannot afford to hire a nurse through an agency, but can provide visa and arrange accommodation. Thank you very much for the tip, really appreciate it.

Hi Cruiseaddict, I would serve: Simple mezze: * Mixed Olives * Fried/grilled halloumi (just slice and put in the frying pan and flip when it becomes golden) * Moutbal (aubergine dip - just put the aubergine on a naked flame until blackened, peel, add some tahini, garlic and yoghurt to it and blend) * Labne/cream cheese (you can buy it ready made in the supermarket, just drizzle some olive oil over it and add a sprig of mint) * Salad like Fattoush * Arabic pastries I would order from an Arabic restaurant (Cheese Sambusek/ Sfiha ) As for the main, there are so many options. Here are some really great food blogs with delicious recipes www.maryamsculinarywonders.com - Arabic & International Cuisine www.yasalamcooking.com - GCC & International Cuisine www.tasteofbeirut.com - Lebanese & Arabic Cuisine www.cookingwithalia.com - Moroccan Cuisine www.daliaskitchen.com - Arabic & International Cuisine As for dessert - Hail wa Zafaran has some awesome Arabic sweets otherwise - baklawa served with Turkish coffee or a delicious Moroccan mint tea

Al Shaya http://careers.alshaya.com/ or https://careers.sabis.net/ etc.....You should also look at headhunters or recruitment agencies that are based overseas the recruit for the region, look in your country of origin and send them your CV. Love Kerastase and Aveda products. It seems Aveda have finally opened in Dubai, I haven't tried their salon here but the one in London is great and I have read good reviews of the one in Dubai. http://www.luxurialifestyle.ae/the-best-hair-salon-in-dubai-aveda-dubai-flagship-salon/ I used to have very thick long hair and when I moved here, it started to fall out and became really dull. When I started taking Perfectil Platinum tablets, drinking fenugreek seed water and going for weekly hair oil massages, there was a significant difference. I also put a water filter on my shower.

Thank you so much for all this useful information ladies! 500- 600 is a reasonable fee for a reputable center. I have decided to see a lady in Sharjah who was spoken very highly of and I quiet like the spiritual aspect of it that she apparently does Islamic prayers while cupping. Let's see how it goes. :-) I am planning to go mid November as religiously these are the "Sunnah days" that are recommended for this kind of treatment. I will certainly keep you posted on how it goes. @Zuhairah good luck and please do let us know. I would love to see her. Take care if you are anaemic and make sure you are very well hydrated that day.
