I also sell avon - and this is my best seller - the pink one also works - its a dry oil spray. I have not had any comments back about it not working for any customers - as stated it is not sold as a Mozzie Spray but the majority of people find it works for them - the best ingredient for keeping the mosquitoes away is Deet!

Thank you so much for your response! She has decided not to take leave so I guess we pay cash for her flight home and an extra month pay and she just continues as normal!?

Love my Donkey - to be honest it would probably be best to buy here - if you are not in a rush to buy JK do offers - we bought ours when they were offering a 20% Internet voucher so "saved" 1800dhs! :) Saying that I bought all my extras in the uk (parents bought them out!) as these were 2-3x the price here (snack tray, buggy board and maxi cosi adaptor)

Dr Elsa at City will be happy to do a VBAC if you want and if there is no medical reason not to - I elected a ELCS for my 2nd but she did discuss the option of VBAC! Dr Elsa is wonderful and delivered both my children! (via ELSC - first Transverse Lie, second my choice of ELSC) I can't recommend her highly enough!

If your husband is going to be in DIFC have you looked at some of the older towers on the opp side of SZR - they are very large and most come with parking, pool - you have a park behind your husband could just cross the road by the foot bridge - it may be a bit more than your 100k budget but you may save in reduced transport costs - just throwing it out there! :) Not really a neighbourhood - but very central! <em>edited by vixster on 02/11/2012</em>

Lots for you to do and no one ever bats an eye if you dine alone! My parents have both been out together and individually and love to potter about - if you are interested in fabrics visit Satwa - fine in January during the day, then karama for the tourist bag shopping( I am not condoning it - it is an experience). Gold, spice and fabric souk Lots of malls - you can get a metro nol card (gold class - why not!) Where is your daughters accommodation? as that will effect your ease of mobility - you could even see if you can attend a mock up at training college - they always need "customers"! I would recommend the first class upgrade mock-up! I hope you enjoy yourself (be ready to party - most mums and get dragged out to experience the nightlife!!!) and trust you daughter will have a successful time at Emirates! <em>edited by vixster on 22/09/2012</em>

Hi! When flying with EK to gatwick you take your stroller to the gate - (what stroller do you have? If it is a travel system I would recommend checking it IMHO) through X-ray you put stroller through and carry baby (carrier may be helpful here!) at te aircraft door they put you stroller in cargo (make sure it has a baggage tag) on arrival at Gatwick - AND ONLY GATWICK - they very kindly bring your stroller to the top of the stairs just past the air bridge - you may wait a few minutes but they are very efficent! (carrier is useful whilst getting on plane with bags and baby etc) When flying from gatwick - they will tag your stroller at checking - you take it through to plane (take baby out and stroller through X-ray) carrier helpful as it can be quite a wait and a bit stressful - testing milk etc). On arrival to DXB use carrier (you could use stroller by then if baby is sitting up or even to put you hand luggage in) and then collect your stroller at the carousel. Never count on them being able to put your stroller in the main cabin. And gatwick is the only station that offers this service! Hope this helps!

Thanks Pupa - we did it that day and let's say learnt from our mistakes (due to time to pick up pink slip missed muscat and Bahrain flights so sent her to Doha - not recommended due to long transfer time!) she was 15 days over and we got charged 700dhs?!? 200dhs for first day and 100dhs every day after - 10 days grace (no fine) !

Where is she from? I think the answer is generally no - Also is it a transit or visit visa? We had to go for the residency visa straight away - we did ours through tecom and they sat on it of an extra week!!!(even when we paid for express) We then put her on a flight ( they have to fly out of the county) we did fly Dubai - book on line (much cheaper) - muscat or Bahrain, they remain in transit so do not require a visa) (we did Doha but need a few hours to transit in Doha so not recommended). As we were over the visa expiry there were fines - 200 for first day and 100 there after - (10 days grace) they seemed to add up differently (had to pay 200dhs more than we worked out!?!) gave her the cash at the airport with a copy of husbands passport and visa and credit card and the pink slip) and off she went! Just need to do medical/Id card - she only had 2 weeks left on he visa when I interviewed her but so far so good - we just had to take a risk! Does that help? Perhaps get her to start and then start the process it can take a day I think but as ours is done through tecom it seemed to take longer for some reason!

A few years ago my husband and and I were at the Westin and one of the female guests was swimming (or floating???) topless - I was so shocked that no-one said anything - they would keep on appearing on the top of the water! :o Did I mention it was during Ramadan!!!! That said I don't have an issue when ladies are lying in their front and undo their clasps (nothing to see!) to get a more even tan!

We are on the wait list for the GVV's 4 bed villas, we put our name down in May/June last year and were told we were number 52, they did call afterward saying they were updating the list and were we still interested, we said yes but think it will be a very long wait! We enquired about even getting one of the ones that need doing up but they said that wasn't an option! We will see if we ever get offered one! I won't hold my breath!

Any Dr's Clinic really - depends on where you live - and how much you want to spend - you could also make an appointment at any of the private hospitals but this generally costs more - also check [url=http://www.dha.gov.ae/EN/Pages/default.aspx '>link[/url'> as they may do it for free at on of the Government Clinics if child is under 5! <em>edited by vixster on 16/02/2012</em>

I had it done when I was born (HK) and they used to do it at School age 13 in the UK as standard if required after a Mantoux Test. http://www.gpnotebook.co.uk/simplepage.cfm?ID=1335492624. I understand that they stopped giving it to those of school age in some/most areas due a very low rate of TB in the UK - but in the recent years TB has been on the increase, so some areas are reintroducing it! My son had it here straight after birth. IMHO it was a no brainer! but that is just my opinion! http://www.netdoctor.co.uk/diseases/facts/tuberculosis.htm

CAT 99 is a confirmed seat - available for certain family members (can't be sure who - sorry), ID90 is a standby ticket for immediate family members - a Cat CWY is confirmed seat for such family members as Aunts, Uncles, BIL and SILs these are special offers so not always available but generally cheaper than a ID50 (confirmed seat) - I thing FIL can use ID90/ID50 (if my memory serves correct - you may need to add them to the dependents list on the HR bit - but can't promise) You will probably find that the CAT 99 is cheaper than the ID50. Priority is via staff no (date of joining) for all staff travel. Its been nearly a year since I dealt with all of this so sorry if I have given the wrong info! (also a bit late!)

I had the 206cc (so pretty similar) 1.6 Automatic - and LOVED IT - I had it for 7 years, always felt safe (the safely features for a small car are impressive) full leather interior, and most optional extras as standard! Only reason I replaced it was due to having a baby - I would have kept it - massive boot space (when no roof) and you could turn off the airbags and had ISO FIX but my husband wanted to get us a bigger car - ended up with another Peugeot. I never had any problems with picking up speed - in fact most people commented on how nippy it was!

I think Clairehdp was being sarcastic or perhaps she is actually referring to accessing the Hotel?! - do this drive 4+ times a week - it will take around 1 hour from Mirdif - I suggest going on the 611 (by pass road) much quicker than 311 - a few more KM's but no slow traffic!

Could I just throw this into the thought process - perhaps her little darling has worked out how to undo their seatbelt! (I know a four year old who can!) Perhaps they did this and mummy did not notice this when taking the picture! ??? Just a thought or even a way of highlighting the situation without "losing your friendship" Personally I would not mention it but if I did I would do so by saying - "looks like munchkin is being a bit naughty with undoing her seat belt!"

I don't have anything BUT could someone perhaps go to a mall - MOE for example - they have the T-shirt printing place and get a baby grow printed with the Superman "S" - should only take a few minutes! Best wishes! x

we had a quote from tool time for our LL a big 5 bed house for 9k and hitches and glitches were slightly cheaper. Thanks for the info FCM - seems a bit high then if you have quite a bit more space/A/C's etc... I always get ripped off on stuff like this so will continue investigating and maybe ask how they calculated this quote!

I saw Dr Singhania at City Hospital, but just as a ped, my son hadn't gained weight/ had lost for the first month so can only comment on that but she is really lovely, friendly, great with babies, and LISTENED to me which I think is really important - I had my mum with me who used to be a midwife and is still a RGN and she was really impressed with her. Sorry I know its not what you are asking but hope it helps a little. City 500DHS consult fee

Hi Ladies, We are considering a move to Discovery Gardens and I was wondering if anyone has the details of an agent they used for an apartment there. Would be great to have a contact number. TIA! Contact Nahkeel directly will probably get you the best deal! http://communities.nakheel.com/portal/site/namcommunities/menuitem.2ab257f822117017dceb84ae3b4251ca/?vgnextoid=e7038beb3f769110VgnVCM10000067101dacRCRD

Really wouldn't advise getting a dog for a child from a rescue organisation or a rehomed dog as you have no idea of the history or how the dog has been trreated and wouldn't want to take the risk with a child. Really sorry, I understand that there was a bad experience but that is such an over generalisation! As people have said every animal has it's own personality!

I believe you can get a large one bed direct from Nakheel for less than 30k it was 100+ 3 years ago! (which is less than the service charge we paid for the first year) the two beds are huge btw and between 50-65k. http://www.discoverygardens.ae this wedsite contains the floor plans

Fondue replied : D.Gardens will become a International City part 2. It`s quite similar already, and with the rents going down even more it will become a proper ghetto. Thanks for that comment, really pleasant and useful! Our monthly mortage is over twice what rents are being charged not taking into account the service charge - I have to say I would rather live in a 1290sq ft one bedroom getto than an overpriced 1200sq ft two bed were you couldn't swing a cat! apt. - If Nahkeel delieved what they had promised it would be quite a lovely place to live - I. have to say it is quite nice when you walk around to see the facilities such as the playgrounds acutally being used, birds in the morning. It has also got better with regard to cleaning up, If they only put water in the pools and dealt this the people breaking the rules re Sat Dishes and Laundry - it would be much less upsetting! If you think that the cost of the apt were orginally more than 1m some paying 1.6m dhs - this is a @£$% load of money (for most people)! (ok not the same price as other areas but still a lot).

At 32/33 weeks you still have lots of time for baby to be helpful! See what the position is at 36/37 weeks then go from there! In my case my son was transverse lie with not a lot of room left to move about at 36 weeks, I opted for a C-section booked in at 38 weeks (they did a scan just prior to going in to surgery to make sure he had not turned) his head was in my rib cage so had a bit of a job to get him out! So in my case I felt I made the right choice. He was my first and we had a VERY stressful pregnancy, after been given the option of turning we chose to just go for the section, I took advice from my family who consist of a GP, Surgeon and a Midwife and of course my OBGYN, if you decide to turn him (is he your first) be prepared for a EMCS as the baby could get stressed - also make sure they double check the cord around the neck after they turn you and send you home - I truely don't want to scare you but from a close family members experience this was not done, and the result was tragic. Very rare I know! Just make sure they do the ultrasound after. After all the main thing is the delivery of a healthy baby. Only you know what is the best course of action for you and your baby, take all advice and sit with your husband/family and decide - I hope all goes well for you an the safe delivery of your baby. I was with Dr Elsa @ City and can only say she is amazing!
