Me and my husband are both fuming too, if there was an issue she should have told me personally , whereas all throughout she said he was doing just fine. These things happen but if it happened just that one day, it shouldn't have come to me a complaint that too in the school diary. Also my son was not well yesterday he came home with a very bad cough and running nose and maybe he was falling sick wen at school and he was restless and unwell and dint listen to her then. He is very young and a young child of not well may not always be able to explain how they feel.. I would have appreciated if she would have had a word with me directly rather than sending that horrible note back home... As a mother I am angry and worried.... I agree with all what you've said. Talk to the HOD, don't ask for a class change, just explain what happened & how you feel about it. Explain to her clearly that you are not complaining about the teacher but as you are always around you'd have expected her to address her concerns directly rather than sending a note. When we had the talk with the HOD the teacher's attitude changed towards us & other parents, we weren't the only parents who weren't happy with the teacher's attitude, & no they didn't hate us at school looool, everyone knows us there & they all love my son, his old teacher still visits him in class to make sure he is fine there. We didn't have a good start but it was fine in the end. I wasn't comfortable with talking directly to his teacher, I found that addressing it to HOD was better as I was too sensitive to the whole incidence & I didnt want to say something to the teacher I'd regret later. edited by wickedangel_78 on 12/09/2014

They are at school for 7+ hours, they reach home tired, hot & bored loooool DS is well behaved at school but he is so whiney at home, I wouldn't say he is not well behaved at home but he gets on my nerves with his attitude some times. I found that his behaviour gets better when the weather is cooler as they get some fresh air at school & they don't get exhausted because of the heat.

I'd have a word with the head of department regarding the note, for me a note about a 3-4 old behaviour in class who's just started school for the 1st time is alarming. I'm not judging the teacher but I honestly think an early years teacher with proper experience can handle such situation in a better way. My son's teacher referred to my son as "horrible" as he used to cry loudly in class after dropping him, according to her he was distracting the class, he wasn't even 4 yet, it was his 1st school year, it was a big change & he is a very sensitive child. I had a word with the head of department, referring to a small child as horrible is not acceptable in my dictionary, she is the teacher & she should know what to do in those situations, he wasn't the only child crying during the 1st weeks of school. I'd go to the head of department & see what is acceptable to report to parents & what's not, & how to handle those situations together with the school. I wouldn't mind to get a similar note if my son was in grade 1 or older, but I'd be fuming if I received something similar last year when he just started school for the 1st time. edited by wickedangel_78 on 12/09/2014

We don't. It has a nasty taste (try to use it in preparing bones broth in a pressure cooker & you will understand what I'm talking about), even if you are using a filter (we tried that) , we live in an apt , they clean the tanks 3 times a year, but everytime they do a brown water comes out of the taps, it's cheaper to use a water dispenser for cooking & hot drinks than buying a filter & maintaining it. We have a filter in the bathroom for showering. Water is not fresh here (I don't even know the source) , so drinking it from a bottle sounds more appealing than from a tap :D edited by wickedangel_78 on 12/09/2014

She is your responsibility until she leaves the country or transfers her visa to another sponsor. You will be fined if she does not leave before the grace period ends. If you don't want it take the responsibility book we a ticket on the date of cancellation.

Sponsor should take his & her passport to immigration, process the papers & cancel the visa, then she will be given 30 days grace period to leave, once she exits you can claim the deposit, it's straight forward they don't ask for anything other than the passports

I have experienced the same, though in sharjah, this is my third year and my rent is increased every year!!! This is not allowed in sharjah, it shouldn't increase every year! They should increase it once every 3 years only for a 1st time tenant then every 2 yrs for old tenants. I've been living in sharjah all my life & my husband owns properties in sharjah. My parents rented their flat 2 yrs back they just renewed their contract last week for a 3rd year with no increase although a similar flat in their building is leased 15k higher than theirs for new tenants edited by wickedangel_78 on 12/09/2014

I use DHL on iherb, I don't pay any customs, as long as your order is below $360 you don't pay any additional charges, I order in bulk (raw honey, seeds, sunblock, vitamins, etc) to save on delivery cost. The price on iherb is 1/3 the prices of the same items here.

Cons- dividing attention among children especially if they are close in age. My friends with 3+ children envy me for giving my son lots of attention, I envy them for having children that are growing up together ;) We didnt plan to have another child until my son went to school last year, I know I cant cope with a toddler who requires stimulation with a baby who needs attention 24/7, & I do have a maid & I dont work, but I love to give my time for my children & enjoy my time with them. We're planning to have 1 more, if we end up with 3 it would be fine, money is not an issue, unfortunately we ended up with a mc in April edited by wickedangel_78 on 30/07/2014

I'm from Croatia. In another words, I better not come until I get my visa... I have already booked our tickets... Wanted to get everything set for school... I'm in real trouble now. Any ideas? I'd wait & change the tickets dates, schools are close anyway, they will not open until mid August. They can't start the visa process until Sunday as it's Eid holidays here & the immigration & labour are close.

It takes a week to 10 days for an employment visa to get issued once you leave the country, they can't apply for it if you are on a tourist visa in the country. Earlier it used to work by paying extra, but since Jan I guess the rules change & you have to leave. & tourist visa is different than a visit visa. We usually send our employees to Kish, but in your situation, I'd go back home .

I caught it on video looool, I live on the 22nd floor, I felt dizzy at 1st, I thought it was from lack of sleep & the sheesha I was smoking, I looked at the sheesha & it was shaking, I looked up & the chandelier was moving, I looked out the balcony, the swing was also moving, but I always feel them, last year, I was giving my son a bath, the water started to move & it went out of the tub, that was really scarey! edited by wickedangel_78 on 30/07/2014

Just to add my son wasn't social , it took him 3 month of crying on & off , the school worked with us in helping him to get over his social anxiety , he was also very dependent. , although he knew a lot he was considered behind . They worked on encouraging him to become independent & social . Now he's very independent & social which is more important at that age than academic achievements .

My son's school sent us a joining letter, other than feeding himself, using the toilet independently & washing his hands, they didn't ask for anything else. My son knew the phonics, alphabet & numbers in addition to complex shapes & reading cvc & some sight words before starting but all those weren't a requirement, they taught them basic phonics, numbers & shapes through play at school, there was no structured learning . As for achievement, my son was assessed based on what he knew earlier not only. On what was covered during the academic year. He was asked to recognise 2 digit numbers, reading a story & counting to 100. Children who were following the curriculum were assessed based on what was covered during the year . They post weekly reports on the school's communicator on Thursdays with what's covered during the week. edited by wickedangel_78 on 23/07/2014 edited by wickedangel_78 on 23/07/2014 edited by wickedangel_78 on 23/07/2014

I saw several times how maids are compared to employees here, which is totally different as per the law. They consider a maid as a dependant similar to your own children. If she is caught in act or does anything illegal even outside her workings hours the sponsor will be fined & sometimes jailed. If you are an employee in a company your company will not be held responsible. I'd be concerned if our house maid is dressed like hooker when she goes out, but I wouldn't care if it's one of our company's employee. edited by wickedangel_78 on 23/07/2014

What do you do there? A hair cut? Blow dry? How many times a month do you go there? I'd alternate between the 2 girls, if you've been with that girl for 2 yrs it means you liked her services earlier. I'd keep it casual with no explanation.

There is copthorne hotel in Buhairah if you're not looking for a beach, it is new & clean. Loulou hotel in al khan is ok, they have a nice beach but it's a bit old, ajman kempiniski is not too far away, nice beach, & very clean. I didn't try coral beach, but I went there to take a look, it looks nice & clean, 2 pools & lots of green areas I'm planning to take a membership at Copthorne as it's a walking distance from where I stay & they have separate gym for ladies edited by wickedangel_78 on 15/07/2014
