You could chop it up small and make a curry ..or chop it up small with Chinese style noodles and veg with plenty of sauce ...or Slice it very thin and braise it in gravy for an hour or so and serve with mash...or Chop it in thin strips and put it in pancakes with hoisin sauce onion and cucumber...

I agree Oxted is a nice place and also Guildford , there is a university in Guildford so renting out your property until you are ready to live in it , should be fairly easy.

Try www.espares.co.uk Or go onto the Henry site. I have 3 Henry's and 2 hettys ....love them , I'm sure it will be easy to get a replacement hose. You may have to get it delivered to another address in the UK . I have used espares a few times, although I don't have bits delivered here.

The place I used is Tycoon Auto Garage . 050-1646880 Ask to speak with Angie she speaks good English. They have done a brilliant job on scratches and marks for me . If the scratch is too big they will recommend you use the body shop opposite . They were both very good . Cash only.

I only know the Barsha branch, as you enter the shop you go left past all the check outs, just keep going as far as you can and you will see all the seeds and nuts etc. They have some already in bags or you can just ask for however much you need.

I 2nd Kitulgala, We stayed high up the mountain in a place called Royal River Resort, it only has 4 rooms, but 2 of them are built over the river. It also has a natural mountain spring fed swimming pool. The white water rafting was fun , although my kids were a few years younger. It's where they filmed The Bridge Over The River Kwai.

I think the Golden Tulip is now Atana resort. We stayed in golden Tulip , but arranged a private dhow just for the 4 of us. I think you have to book a hotel stay and have the confirmation of it when you cross the border ? Maybe it's changed since we went ?

My children went to the local primary school and college. We live in a very rural part of France, and the nearest international school would be over 2 hrs drive. I think initially it was very hard for them to cope with the French language. We actually kept them off school for 5 months, so they could learn french at home and around the village , before going to school. Even in the primary school , the children learn English , although my children were learning German and Latin ..... Not a very popular lesson at the time !! The French way of life for children is lovely . Although I don't think they appreciate it even now ! Another issue was that I didn't speak french at all , so it was impossible for me to help the children with homework , or liase with teachers. Your children will definitely benefit from growing up in France, even if they don't realise it yet !!

I went to Al muna last weekend and Tbh, I was very disappointed . It's a lot of money for cheap Italian sparkling wine. It was so hot , even inside ! Ice cream tasted like yogurt, or off ! Lobster tails were over cooked, and really mushy inside, prawns were tasteless. I tried the brunch at Jumeriah Zabeel Saray last year and it was fantastic, first class champagne , excellent food, and a lovely setting. Latitude at Jumeriah beach hotel also serves Moët and the food is Brilliant.

It's brilliant , I've been using it for months. I got so sick of waiting for Dubai taxis to arrive , I even missed flights. But with Uber , it's so easy to track and see exactly when your car will arrive. There is usually a bottle of water in the posh car for you , and their fares are not too much more than the Dubai taxi service , especially from the airport , because they don't out the compulsory 25dhs extra charge on the fare. I definitely recommend this service 100%

Homeaway, deals with owners directly, so you can always speak to the owners to see if they will do a long term let. I have 5 houses I rent on the website, I usually rent for weekly holidays, but have also rented 2 houses for long term lets of 18 months, it's definitely worth asking the owners. Most would jump at the chance to rent long term. It's much less hassle than a change over every week !

Have a look at homeaway.co.uk If you write to the owners direct, maybe they will work out a long term rental for you. A lot of holiday homes are blocked off during the winter months, but only because the income is not guaranteed. Good luck

Gosh, how much did you use ? I have used it hundreds of times here and back home for problem blockages. I usually put a couple of capfuls in the drain in the basin or bath, put the plug in , and wait about half an hour. Then wash it away. Always works a treat for me.

We bought our 15 year old a full set of drums. Brand new from a music shop in Sharjah for 1000dhs. Seems like good quality, he has had them for 3 years and still plays them. We had an arrangement with the neighbour, that if he was resting for work or trying to sleep or had just had enough just to let us know and our DS would stop. TBH this only happened once. We were very lucky I think to have such a tolerant neighbour !

Ha ha ... You don't get much for your school fees ! The one gripe my kids have is that the food isn't great, so by doing food shopping for them always makes them really happy. Being able to visit grandparents for a full roast and TLC helps enormously too. Do not feel guilty at all. Living in Dubai is not the real world, it's great for them to go to their home countries, learn to use the transport system, learn the value of money, and to learn they can't just keep running to the bank of mum and dad for 100 dirhams when they feel like it ! We give ours between £55 and £65 a month. No kids = clean house !!! Can I ask which area in the UK you are looking at ? edited by Wife of 777 on 27/04/2014

My eldest child started UK boarding school 4 years ago , we took him out of school here for very similar reasons to you. The school is very near the grandparents and only 2 stops on the train away from them. It has great sports activities and also there are always trips and visits planned at weekends. I now have 3 children there and they all love it. Always something to do. Always someone to hang out with. They start getting their own independence by managing their pocket money and being able to go to the shops themselves to get essentials . I actually do a supermarket online shop for them around every 3 weeks. They love having their food parcels delver red straight to their boarding house. It also means I still have a little say in what junk food they are eating ! It also gives me the opportunity to replenish toiletries , pens and socks or anything else they need. All of the children have a phone contract that gives them unlimited Internet , so we can Skype or whatsapp at any time. The wifi at the school is not too good , although they do have PC the children can use to Skype call their parents. I was really upset when the kids didn't contact me in the first few days , but TBH this was only because they were having too much fun ! They didn't visit their grandparents for the first 2 weeks. I have a year 9,11 and one in the upper sixth . I hope this help you, if you need anything else , I'm always happy to help.

I don't think it had bricks, but I'm sure they will tell you where to get them from. It's in the Al Quoz industrial area. Very near Oasis centre. If you pass the Al Quoz cemetery on your left and look up the road towards Abu Dhabi you will see Speedex at the end of the road.

Danube is mainly for wood. Speedex is the best place, much cheaper than Ace. Dragonmart is good for sanitary stuff and tiles. Depends what you are looking for ? Good luck
