We have sound but no English commentary. Any advice greatly appreciated :-) Have you reinstalled all the channels? Then use the beIn channels, not the Al Jazeera ones. Most are in english but there a are a few in arabic.

I have a Al Jazeera Sports Smart Card for watching English Premier League football. As of Jan 1st, 2014, this subscription has changed to another Qatar-based company called beIN SPORTS. The EPL is still working ok on my tv (but without sound??). However, the Jazeera Sp 2 channel, which shows all the ATP tennis tournaments is not working. Is this the same for anyone else? Also, Jazeera had a very good website and iPad app for watching live streaming of EPL matches and highlights. This is also not available now. Does anyone have any thoughts on this and also who to contact from biIN SPORTS to ask questions? Regards Thanks for this thread. DH has just had a panic. DH has reinstalled all the channels and bein channels have all come up on the tv guide. You also have to change the sound from digital to normal from your remote to change it to get the sound. It seems they are not transmitted in digital sound but still have the HD channels. We now have all working. Good luck . edited by wiggywig on 01/01/2014 edited by wiggywig on 01/01/2014

I had something like this. I would feel very light headed while sitting and walking around and if I was lying down on my side and then turned to the other side, the whole room would spin for about 1 minute. I went to see Dr Josef, ENT at Emirates Hospital, Jumeirah. I was diagnosed as having BPPV. He basically sat me on a bed and flipped me from one side to the other for about 10 minutes watching my eyes all the time. Not a great experience, but only 2 sessions of this and I was cured. So weird. If you look on the internet for the treatment of BPPV you will see what happens. This was about 8 months ago and everything is fine now. edited by wiggywig on 11/12/2013

We left JPS just over a year ago after spending 8 years there and were overall happy with it. Both my children excelled at JPS and are doing very well in Senior School. Class sizes have always been a concern of mine, but we had excellent teachers all the way. Don't know how much it has changed since, but know people that are still there and are happy.

I could be completely wrong but I think @home at MoE has moved to near the movie theatres. Someone may be able to confirm. Yes you are right. It is where Compume used to be and it is open.

I leave Cara's to the tourists now! There are plenty of other good guys in the G&D Park who don't get a look in. I've been using one particular one for years now and wouldn't go anywhere else. He's honest, I feel I get a fair price (not the 'tourist price'). I think it's better to pick a smaller outlet and build a relationship with them. Absolutely agree.

I've bought quite a few pieces of jewellery from Cara over the years, and recommended them to many friends and always been very happy. However, recently a friend in the uk asked me to have a set of pearl ear-ring & necklace remodelled to something the same as I had. No problem, took the pieces in, discussed with the guy what was required, easy-peasy. Went back few days later to collect them, looked lovely, all fine. However, realised that afternoon that they hadn't included a chain with the necklace (there was one when it was given in) so went back and asked for one. Was told I'd have to pay for it, as they'd calculated the cost using the available gold weight, etc etc. Had a bit of a to do, told them that was not the understanding, and whilst I didn't disagree with the price, it should have been weighed and noted down at the time of handing the items over to them. And yes, it's my mistake I know, but I've had so many things made there, I didn't think to distrust them. It was their word against mine. He said he would get in touch with the workshop and get an exact breakdown on the amount of gold used, cost of workmanship, etc and get back to me later that day. That was on Saturday and I'm still waiting...... Very disappointed. However, have to say Cara is always packed any time I'm in the Gold & Diamond Park, unlike the other shops which are almost deserted. I have heard many problems with Cara from friends and I think there was a thread on here some time ago about diamonds. One of the reasons why I don't use Cara is how packed it always is and I get the impression from people that they are getting a bit too big for their boots. I have used other Jewellers there and have had incredible service and they have done exactly what I want.

I re-registered my car this morning and is cost me dhs320. My car is only 2 years old so did not need to be tested, not sure whether that changes the cost or not. Just to add, I was there at 8.15am and walked out of there at 8.20am.

I had a scare about 2 years ago and went to see Dr Sama at Emirates Hospital. She is absolutely amazing and very thorough. Dr Sama has a fantastic bedside manner and is very caring. For me my scare turned out ok and I cannot fault the follow-up care I was given from her. HTH

Has anyone heard of this or have tried it. I have seen it advertised a few times and claims that you can lose mega kilos in a matter of weeks. Normally if it sounds too good to be true, it normally is. TIA

Hello, My daughter has been admitted to DBS and JPS for FS1. Does anyone have any feedback on these two schools that would help me make a decision? We live in the Marina, so logistically DBS is easier. Thank you I do not have any feedback about DBS, but both my boys went to JPS from FS1 all the way through to Year 6. They enjoyed everyday and loved all their teachers. Only little concern I had were class sizes, they were 27 when we left, not sure what they are now.

A friend of mine is at the concert tonight. Apparently there was no traffic or crowds getting in. There are even suggestions going around that he might not even come out tonight because of the lack of interest, or maybe people are getting there for 10pm instead. Can't wait to hear later. Still hasn't appeared. They have just had 1st announcement saying "he will be on soon". The crowd is tiny compared to last night. edited by wiggywig on 05/05/2013

TDB, I think you should go on a date with DH once a month. You both need some bonding time with each other, but you both have to be ready. If DH isn't ready yet, why don't you set aside a night at home and get dressed up (not quite the same I know), order a take away, maybe he will realise what he is missing. Do not feel guilty about having a night off.

He came on stage over 2 hours late, after 1 song he left the stage and different music was played. Why did he keep leaving the stage. This little boy's show lasted 1hr 15 mins and probably over 15 mins of that time we had to watch a video of him. No excuse little Bieber. Go home to mummy.

Hi ladies, Would anyone recommend this restaurant ?? Ive visitors out next month and they are celebrating a special birthday and have expressed an interest to go here, any comments would be greatly appreciated before i make a reservation. Thanks :) I think this is the best restaurant in the Burj - not the best in Dubai, but the food is sublime and service is excellent. I found the alcohol to be stupidly overpriced (but that is to be expected!), but overall, it's got the wow factor and I'd definitely go there again. Totally agree, absolutely excellent. The waiters even knew about all the fish in the tank. Very expensive but in my opinion, well worth it.

We only ever go away for 2 to 3 weeks in the summer anyway, but do prefer it if our maid is here. We feel more secure with someone being in the house especially over the summer months. Outside people can see that there is someone in the house and also lights and AC can be switched on from time to time. This is also a good time for her to do a deep clean, as this can be difficult when we are around.
