You'll need to employ an agency maid-anything else is illegal as someone else's maid is not under your sponsorship

Thanks! Sounds fun Wuffles, I'm getting excited :) Re Hatta - How long is the drive and how is best to plan the day? If we leave early is there somewhere nice to have lunch before wandering around then returning home? I'm sure I can search all this but am just being lazy. Any quick suggestions appreciated :) Not sure about Hatta-we took the bus to Al Ain and Abu Dhabi so can't really help there either-I am sure our driver overtook everything on the road the last time we went!

I look equally bad in both swimsuit and bikini, but wear a swimsuit as it covers up a bit more. Was wondering about getting a swimsuit abaya so as not to show all the revolting bits - do such things exist? Yes- Try this site http://divasindubai.com/muslim-ladies-swimwear-sale

No, being good with my eating and choc free at the moment:) You need to peel the egg like a hard boiled egg so yes be careful with tiny tots (a whole egg might be too much in one shot to eat for a child though). dd is 4 and I'll be there when she devours hers. That's very dtrong willed of you! I wish they had an open one at the shop to look at

The sweet shop on the ground floor at Mirdif City Center (South Entrance) has a fab selection. I chose a real egg shell decorated & filled with praline for dd. Name of the shop is Candelite (or sthg approaching) I saw those and they looked great but I wondered how safe they are to eat-the packaging said something about being careful not to eat the shell-have you tried one?

Do u remember the crime I committed earlier this month? Well today was day 31 and I have lost 10kgs. Shall I celebrate with a couple of chocolates from chocoas or should I just skip it and keep going? Celebrate-we can't have you putting the rest of us to shame-I suppose I should begrudgingly congratulate you too...

I was at Dubai Mall tonight and lots of the local girls (and boys) had stalls set up for their young entrepreneurs projects. It was really nice to see them out in force chatting with expats and promoting their projects with such enthusiasm. Good communication and good manners were in evidence on both sides so it is not all bad.

I noticed a sign at Burjuman advertising some Victoria's Secret shop opening there soon... VS is famous for having real shops only in the US. I was told it was opening some time in April-didn't see any swimwear at the MCC one-or bras for that matter-DD sent me out there on a mission but they mostly had T-shirts amd underwear-and sleep shirts plus make-up items

....also the agency we are using is homemaidsuae....any feedback? I don't think she is using an illegal cleaner? Unless I am reading wrong? I suspect the agency won't allow her to have a copy of her doc's in case she was planning on trying to leave the agency to go onto OP's sponsorship which they wouldn't like. I know she isn't but the agency wouldn't take her word for it. I thought the agency was for the babysitter she was using this weekend-and didn't refer to the maid-now I am officially confused!

as far as I know, all animal-based gelatine sold here should be beef gelatine. There would be no pork gelatine sold here (halal issue). I have found both beef gelatine and vegetarian equivalent (forgotten name) in supermarkets here. I believe most will carry at least the beef gelatine, unless they are currently out of stock. Just checked mine-it is Davis gelatine and marked as being from Hala slaughtered beef-got it at Spinneys the last time

I have never seen any ,very doubtful that they would sell it here. Pretty sure the fabric stores in the same street (and on the same side) as the museum stock fleece-but haven't checked lately-worth a look if you are down that way
