The Russian - I have been diagnosed with seborrheic dermatitis a few years ago actually (it gets bad esp. in my ears and sometimes around my nose); however, I went to a dermatologist in the UK recently and he said that what I have is just normal dandruff which may be due to stress (I got married 2 months ago) and change of water/weather, etc. (I travelled a lot over the summer). He said it's actually perfectly normal to shed 100-170 hairs each day but to be honest, to me this seems like an immense amount. I cut my hair short after the wedding (it was waist length before) and when I had short hair a few years ago I'd hardly notice it fall out so this suggests that something is not right. wuffles - Thanks for your suggestion. The Ionyl T is great for flaky skin on the ears too-can vouch for that Cheezu, have you seen a dermatologist? I don't mean to scare you but I had a similar problem a few years ago and it turned into a disaster. My hair started falling out, I got some serums that were supposed to help, my hair kept falling AND I got dandruff as well, started using anti-dandruff shampoos & serums and ended up with a seborrhea - by the time I finally stepped into a dermatologist's office, my scalp was literally covered by crust (which the doctor called a "cardinal's hat"...). I'll spare you the details of the treatment process, but I did lose a lot of hair going through with it and it was terrible. Like other posters said, it's very individual - and your hair is definitely not something to experiment with... dandruff is ultimately a dermatological issue and the sooner you see a professional, the better!

I found Ionyl T worked really well for me-it is tar based but the smell doesn't linger-and neither does the itching

So sorry to hear you are going through this-my DS (now 24) was born with no oesophagus and once the repair was done had severe reflux-amongst other issues. In all by the time he was 2 he had had 57 trips to theatre-scary for us as parents-but he came through them all. They take wonderful care of the little ones in theatre so try not to worry too much-hard I know. Sending you prayers that they find what is wrong and it is easily fixed.

If anyone is coming back from Australia, I'd love 20kg of Cadbury chocolate for a party I'm having by myself for myself... Anyone?! (urgent and cannot substitute!!) :D oohhh, AmyAus please make it a party for two and invite me...my Aussie Cadbury choccies are all gone...must get pest control in to deal with the tall, two legged rodent that can reach the top shelf! And if the person flies back with Emirates they can bring us 30kg of chocolate!!:) 46 kilos if you are travelling Gold-just brought back loads of Cadburys for BH-however as he refuses to share it he is not getting the Clinkers-some things are non-negociable!

Not much now -the choices are much better than 7 years back when we first came-always bring back huge jars of Nescafe Espresso coffee as it is rarely available here and the instant cofffee here isn't much to write home about-and tinned beetroot as nothing beats the Aussie stuff (IMHO) Having visited the UK I can understand the desire for Greggs-loved those cheese and onion pasties!

Just be careful if you are driving down-traffic can get crazy at times-and often during the fireworks we see cars pull to a halt in the middle of the road to watch while those behind frantically brake! If you don't mind a little walk park somewhere like the Carrefour carpark (Bur Dubai side) and walk back down the Creek

If you are after an inexpensive one either Global Village or the Crrekside Night Souq should have them. I have also seen hand woven ones down at Heritage Village but haven't checked the prices there.

Can someone please report back after they've been to IHop? Curious how they compare to the US, and if they have the full menu. Specifically, do they offer the smart and fit, lower calorie options? My tummy is grumbling thinking about their breakfast! Thanks! Can't say the 'healthy' options they offered in the States seemed too good for the diet anyway-might as well go for the yummy ones and blow the diet! Try the red velvet ones if they offer them here. Really wicked.

What a shame I will be in Australia the week you need help- I would mind your kitty in a heartbeat-miss my beautiful Tonkinese so much when I am in Dubai so satisfy myself with minding other cats-I have had a wonderful assortment of 'holiday' cats over the 7 years we have been here. Nothing-both ours were extremely premature births and very ill so presents were the last thing on our minds. Wouldn't have expected one even if they weren't-[b'>thought the baby was the gift[/b'>. This has already been answered. By others maybe-but not by me-it was an individual question and this is my answer-is that a problem for you? Believe me when two very ill premature babies with multiple problems survive it is a gift that surpasses any present

Baby sparrows in France-we were advised to eat the whole bird feet and all-I chickened out and told the host I was avegetarian So you "chickened out" of eating baby birds, :D LOL Wouldn't you-especially as they were placed feet up on the plate! The other interesting food I had was made by my then future mother in law-2 sheeps heads-facing in opposite directions- on a platter surrounded by stuffed hearts-didn't tell her till a few years later that I had lied about being a vegetarian that day too! For sure! Would have done the same too if I'd known the "chicken" I was offered in China was actually bat. can't imagine bats have much meat on!-and I am allergic to chicken anyway-weird i know-I can eat any other poultry

If you aren't in a hurry Global Village is even cheaper-but if you go for one at Souk al Bahar or Madinat Jumeirah and want a bigger piece the prices can be negotiated quite a bit.

No worries-hope you find somewhere lovely and dog friendly. See the odd dog around but mostly little ones so they may well be apartment-sized! Plenty of places to walk them along the creek too.

May I ask if you live in a villa in Bur Dubai? Its an area I have always wanted to live, just wondering how easy getting a decent sizable villa is... Thanks No-sorry a company apartment-a lovely big one at that-not sure there would be many villas around us but our apartment has much bigger rooms than many villas I have visited-huge laundry and wardrobes in every room and the halls-so no complaints. It is a wonderful area to live in-we are in the consulate area so it is very quiet traffic-wise at night too

Bur Dubai- we have been living down by the Creek for over 7 years and you wouldn't prise me out with a crow bar. I love it because you feel you are living in another country with all the different cultures around-we can walk to the Creek and markets-and Karama-hop an abra any night we want-yet are just a few minutes walk from the metro. There are taxis circling the block 24/7 if you need one too. We are surrounded by beautiful embassies and consulates too and enjoy watching all the comings and goings

We flew back into Dubai on Emirates right at the start of Ramadan-those we were flying with had no idea what it was or meant and Emirates missed the chance to mention it too. I thought there was a pushh some time back for the to put out some sort of leaflet on incoming Emirates flights about what was acceptable-perhaps I am wrong

All the ones around Bur Dubai are still delivering-best to order before the fast breaks or you may have a bit of a wait for delivery once the restaurants get busy. We always tip the delivery guy-at least that way you are sure they get it-never convinced the service charge goes into their own pockets anyway

I know thanks-but there is no x for these-the x only happens when it says someone has read a trending article-these stand alone and they are enclosed in a box-tried googling ways to delete it but they didn't work-or I did something wrong

I couldn't find a wheat one so ended up with one with silicone beads or some such inside. Bought it from Splash/Centrepoint and it actually retains heat better than the wheat ones.

Thanks gailmcphail. Tried putting in various numbers but they also have a drop down list to enter a country and UAE isn't on the list. Have sent them an email asking if there is any way round this but looks like I will have to get someone at home to purchase them and give them the cash for it. Thanks for your help. Did you double check they don't have Dubai listed as a country-some sites have this instead of the UAE-I always put 0 plus my PO box number in US postbox position-often works

Girls, I looked up a few past posts on VS's online delivery. Sounds real neat :) I plan to order something really soon - however due to ongoing work, I would most likely have to accept delivery at my workplace. I'm hesitating coz dont want the whole office to know of my purchase! My question was: is the VS delivery in a discreet looking package or is the VS logo and name plastered all over it? Is there an option of picking it up from the courier company's office? Another query: How long does it take for the delivery to happen once the order is placed? Thanks! My daughter in Australia orders it on-line-from memory it comes in a very plain brown box-she was quite disappointed! im going to try the camel museum ! It is a weird one-found the videos on how they prepare the camels for racing really interesting-also near the architectural museum and the diving village etc-better to do them in cooler weather though-and if you keep walking you can actually walk through the tunnel under the creek if tha appeals as an idea!

Its a little hidden gem ! never thought of doing it until somone recommended it here and we took some guests.. great day out x The whole area is great-not so hidden if it is on your doorstep I guess-though some of the museums down that way are hard to find-think I was the second visitor to the Camel Museum for the month-the poor guard had to unlock all the displays for me and set the videos going-guess not too many people want to walk through a camels stomach (one of the weirder displays there!).

Go to Bastikiya.. Its fantastic, we took some guests and they really enjoyed it. Tour of Abu Dhabi Mosque if you havnt already been The Bastikiya is wonderful-always new exhibitions-the view from the rooftops is great too-and weather permitting there is often a camel to ride and a falcon to hold-all our guests love it-and we are lucky to be a short walk away

A long walk along the Creek at night to bargain in the textile market followed by an abra trip across to the god and spice markest-then back across to visit Meena Bazaar. Watch the fountains at Dubai Mall after eating our fill at Wafi Gourmet-then buy some red velvet cupcakes from Bloomingdales to take home for supper. One day and night in one of the lovely hotlels at Madinat Jumeirah if the budget permits. A last trip to Khan Murjhan to actually buy one of the rugs we have been looking at for the past 7 years-if the price is finally right! One last bartering trip to Karama-plus a visit to either the Creek night souk or Global Villlage depending on the time of year. Also not in Dubai-but an overnight trip to Al Ain to wander round, see a concert under the stars at al Ahili Fort, visit the zoo and eat the best kanafe in the region!

Hmm, that's odd then! Have you tried calling to see if you get a different person? I would just try again at check-in, or if you checkin online 24hrs ahead your printed boarding pass *should* mention something about lounge access.... Will try again tomorrow-they weren't exactly helpful today-maybe fasting is getting to them already! Otherwise I could always burst into tears at check-in-though that is not really me!

I believe all Golds can use the Lounge when travelling themselves, (dependent on capacity) however the class of travel becomes relevant when bringing guests in... Guests need to be on the same flight and the member has to be in Biz or First, not in Economy for that flight. It may be that the computer is calculating your miles in advance so says you have reached the Gold tier but it will not become active until you have 'flown' the miles... which is probably what they mean when they say you have to get to Melbourne first. If they activate the Gold tier now, and you cancelled the flight, it's kind of silly for them to then have to say, hey, we need to take it back now :P edited by SkyKitty on 22/07/2012 Pretty sure it said I had achieved gold before I booked this flight-no point losing sleep anyway-not the type to get upgraded sadly-BH does much better on that score!

Thanks-grovelling might be the only way to go! I have enough points (not counting future travel) but they are saying I won't get gold till I get to Melbourne which makes no sense-I even asked if derferring till August would make a difference but they seemed to think not-given up trying to wotrk out their logic now! Will check on line now and see what the boarding pass says.
