What does shop & ship mean? Does that mean ordering online? Shop and ship is a service provided for UAE residents by the courier firm Aramex. They provide you with addresses across the world for online shopping and then forward it onto your home address here. You pay for the cost of shipping according to the weight which you can check on their website. The website is simply shopandship dot com. I use it all the time especially for EFL books I cannot find here.

I normally go to Mediclinic City Hospital. I find they are very professional. The only thing is you might have to wait a bit longer for an appointment as they are very busy. There is a Costa coffee just round the corner and plenty of other options in Wafi

I had a similar problem and solved it by washing less frequently and using organic paraben and SLS free shampoo. My hair is much better although my scalp depends on other things too, like the weather. Having said that the Australian organic shampoo I was using is no longer available anywhere. I don't know if it is the usual supply problem in Dubai or they all simply stopped stocking it. What do you ladies use??

I have an excellent one but she is in the Marina. Dr Charlotte Zoeller. She will always go the extra mile. It took me a while to find a good one but I!m holding on to her. You,Lloyd find her at Top Medical Centre in Grosvenor house.

I recommend Dr Britt Claussom at City hospital. Whenever I experienced anything "abnormal" she was always the one to get to the bottom of things and put my mind at rest.

Dear ExpatWomen in Dubai Like many of you I live in rented property which was built by Emaar. Like in all Emaar communities the appliances are Zanussi. Two months ago my dishwasher started leaking. I called my landlord who sent an incompetent handyman who didnt even know how to access the back of the dishwasher (it isn't rocket science!). I had to send him away before he made more damage than good. I then called Jim Will Fix It who referred me to BetterLife who boasts they are the service centre all over the UAE for Zanussi, as well as other big brands such as Siemens. They came out, identified the problem and confirmed my suspicion that it was the flexible drainage tube that needed replacing. The technician took apart half of my kitchen just to be able to access the machine (thanks Emaar for that) and left without fixing my dishwasher back taking all the parts with him so I have been unable to fix it and prevent it from dangerously toppling over every time I touch it. Over one month and over 30 phonecalls later, FB messages to Electrolux (the company is Electrolux Zanussi), tweets and emails have not got me any closer to 1. getting my parts returned so I can put my kitchen back the way it was, 2. resolving my issue by replacing the flexible tube. I have contacted others, such as Mplus, who cannot touch this as it is fixed to the dishwasher. And another company this morning. Nothing. Emails to Electrolux ME management have borne little fruit. The problem persists. Short of calling out the police to get my parts back, reporting the issues to the Consumers Association and calling HQ in Italy (which I will do tomorrow, since it is a holiday in Italy today) I have run out of options. I am not the only one facing issues with Zanussi white goods in Dubai. I know others. Who can we contact? Who is willing to come and make the repairs? And who is in charge of Electrolux Home DIvision here?????????? I will and indeed cannot stop, until this issue is sorted. HELP please!

Dolley before going there I saw a GP, had a series of tests and X rays and had both physiotherapy and chiropractic. None of these solved the problem nor gave me a definite cause. When I go to a doctor I dont tell them what I think. I tell them my back hurts and watch them do their job. There is no reason to go to a professional if I think I am better than them. But I do my own research and homework. Maybe next time, before going round accusing people, you should also do your own homework. Your opinion is yours and I always think that you have to do what works for you. For me this stuff has worked. I got my life back to normal again after months of real pain. In future I would also recommend you use up your time for more positive inputs.

Thanks ladies for all your input. My self diagnosis was correct and I managed to find a great doctor. Having done a full course Iof acupuncture treatment coupled with Chinese herbs my back is now almost 100 per cent. I am wondering though where to get some more herbs in Dubai as t have run out and Tong Ren Tang doesn't have them in stock and they said they won't have them for another 2 months! Any ideas?

what I don't get, is this mandatory for anyone living in the UAE? And how will it be enforced?

I just found out am pregnant and at the same time that my obgyn Dr Britt has left Dubai. I also heard that it is only temporary and she will be back. Does anyone have any more news on this? It took me a long time to find someone I could trust here and who would answer all my questions patiently... am gutted especially since now my list of questions has suddenly become endless!
