Try looking for Facebook groups in that area, you will get more responses there. Typing in the key words such as Al Hamra / Community should bring up suggestions. You will also find local suggestions from other parents once you get the children registered in a school.

Does anyone know for sure that you can use the monthly offer (for say brunch) three times over at the same venue on the same day. I know it's valid for the whole month and still appears after you use it but just unsure whether you can use it multiple times in one transaction Yes you can, so for example if six of you are dining you can use it three times. You need to enter the code three times but as its a monthly offer it just keeps letting you use until the expiry date.

Sorry to hear of your situation, understandably you will just want to get home given the circumstances. Are you working at the moment? Just wondering why you missed the last payment and if you have any income to keep making future payments? Do you have any assets here that you could sell towards paying off the debt?

I've already purchased it and I'm very happy with it. Yes it is expensive but the quality and technology is excellent. It feels like a product that will last for a long time so in my opinion its worth the price tag.

I've used Churchills a few times for curtain cleaning and they always do a good job. It's a minimum call out charge so will depend how many curtains you need cleaning.

I've been to the Maldives twice in August and wouldn't hesitate to go again at that time of the year. I've also been in April which is classed as high season and seen the same amount of rain. The showers don't usually last long and it's certainly not cold so we found children still went in the pool plus many places have games rooms or some alternative entertainment if it's raining.

I've used them on a weekend but you do need to check what other offers are available as the Entertainer vouchers are based on best available rate and room only. In some cases you can get better deals including breakfast by booking direct with the hotel or other travel sites.

I've been to Maldives and Mauritius, both are lovely but also very different. The Maldives are individual islands with beautiful white beaches. You can do some activities such as snorkelling, diving, water sports and boat trips plus whatever land activities the hotel organises but pretty much a relaxing quiet holiday. Resorts range from three star to five star luxury. Some are a boat ride from the airport and others require a sea plane to reach the island. The food and drink is usually a very high standard but comes with a price tag to match so all inclusive is a good option considering you can't go anywhere else to eat and drink. Mauritius is also a beautiful place. There are many types of accommodation ranging from self catering to high end five star hotels. Plenty of the hotels are situated along the coast so you have direct access to the beach. I don't think any beaches in Mauritius are private though so although the hotel will have facilities on the beach they cannot stop anyone using the same space. You do get lucky lucky men selling items but we didn't find them intrusive. The beaches are nice but I don't think they are as white as the Maldives. Mauritius is also a very green country and the scenery is amazing. The island is easy to navigate with a hire car or there are plenty of tour operators to arrange day trips. The people are friendly and it's worth venturing out of the hotel to see some of the attractions. Both are very nice but it depends what you want from a holiday.

I was surprised when I picked up my Gallery Tickets that they came with a parking pass....we will probably take a taxi anyway but thought I would throw that out there in case you didn't know. I haven't received my tickets yet but when I contacted the ticket office they confirmed I would get a parking badge but wasn't sure how easy it would be meeting with a driver or if there would be a taxi queue outside out entrance.

I'm not a big Chinese fan and especially take away options out here but the hubby tried China Garden in Al Barsha a few weeks ago and it was really good. Only tried a couple of dishes but they were good so would order from them again, don't think you will get char Sui dishes but the menu was pretty good (arrived piping hot too) For curry I really like Curry Box, good variety on the menu, good quality meat and not greasy. Another old favourite was Rupee Room which serves British style curries.

Why is it so hard to find any restaurant open on a Friday that does not serve brunch. One month in Dubai and we've given up hope going out for lunch on a Friday. What do you moms (who would really like one day off from cooking) and dads with young kids do on Friday? The D&A in Jumeirah Beach Hotel was busy on Friday afternoon with families. Also Jamie's Italian in the same hotel serve al a carte menu all day. You could also try the golf clubs or the cafe and restaurants at JBR.

Good morning Anyone tried the picnic brunch at al Badia? How much do they charge for children? TIA We have been a few times. Its a great venue when the weather is nice. Always lots of families with children. They have some activities for the children but there is also plenty of space for them to run around. AED 275 – Soft beverages package (Food & non alcoholic drinks included). AED 375 - House beverages package (Food, non alcoholic drinks, house beverages including bottled beer, rum, gin, vodka, tequila and house red & white wine included). AED 475 - Bubbles package (Food, non alcoholic drinks, house alcoholic beverages and bubbles). AED 135 - Kids from 6-12 years old. Kids below 5 years dine for free.

If you buy the book and register it online then download the app you can get the additional vouchers as they add them through out the year. I will get my money back from the blue book but will use very little vouchers compared to last year. If I didn't have visitors I would only purchase fine dining this time but you can see all the outlets online before purchasing so I knew what I was getting. What amazes me is I've offered to sell mine with wild wadi vouchers included for half price but because I've used / exchanged some of the cafe and fast food places people are not interested! Surely it's the higher value vouchers that make the book worth while?

Hello Ladies Has anyone seen tampax tampons in the supermarket here? I used to be able to get them from Spinneys but they seem to have vanished - for the past month or so. I ordered some from Geant online a few weeks ago. As an alternative Boots do their own brand.

I prefer the daytime as you can identify more of the buildings in daylight. If I take visitors I try to book 11am so we can have lunch afterwards. I also think there is a fountain show at 1pm and 1.30pm, but that could just be on weekends?

I agree with all the points mentioned by Cosmos. I actually found the whole process far less time consuming and stressful than I expected it to be! First I got a new passpost. I still had two years remaining on it but my visa was also due for renewal so it made sense to get a new one at that point. Once I had that I processed my new visa and Emirates ID (If your husband will sponsor you it may be a different process but for me having my own sponsor it was very straight forward). Once I had these I proceeded to update my driving license. Changing my name on my bank account and credit cards was also straight forward but I did have to provide multiple signature specimins as I also changed my signature, but the bank were very helpful. There is obviously a certain amount of time required visiting all of the different offices and the usual admin costs are charged for the changes but if you have all the necessary documents it shouldn't be a problem. I found changing my name on my bank accounts overseas far more difficult.

Was all set to book a surprise couples massage for our anniversary at Talise Madinat Jumeirah but just found out they have a strict same-gender masseuse policy which my DH is not comfortable with. I have checked with Anantara /Waldorf /sofitel all have the same policy. I know Amara at the Park Hyatt doesn't have this policy but since we've been before would like to try some where different. I have Shuiqi at Atlantis short listed any other suggestions much appreciated. I wonder if this is a new policy which they are all following because we did a couples massage at Anantara last year and both were female therapists.

TKD at Town Centre Jumeirah. They have lovely bras and a decent range. Good sales too. I don't fault the quality but did have issues with their sales staff with sizing so be sure you are comfortable le before purchasing. Also consider Marks & Spencer, Debenhams, also Matalan sometimes stock bigger sizes. Failing that if you know the brand/size I have found Figleaves deliver to the UAE okay

I'm visiting in November for my birthday and staying with my auntie and uncle. My mum and godmother and her husband are coming out for a long weekend and whilst we are all together I thought it would be nice to go to a brunch on the Friday for my birthday. I have been to Al Qasr before and absolutely loved it but my uncle said to try Saffron as it has more of a party scene. I just really liked the different choices of food at Al Qasr and all the cocktail stations. Plus my godmother really likes champagne (not Moët). Any recommendations would be really appreciated :-) They are two very different brunches so difficult to compare. Saffron has a good selection of food plus plenty of drink stations but it's very much a party atmosphere. The music is very loud so difficult to hold a conversation across the table. It also attracts a younger crowd and there are some sorry states by the time it finishes!! We went a few years ago and enjoyed it but it wouldn't be my choice for catching up with friends and family. November is a great time of the year to sit outside so I would pick somewhere with a nice view. The brunch at Anantara the palm is nice.

Thank you! How do you get an account, do you just down load the app? Yes you can download the app and set up a new account. You will need to register a credit card with them as they automatically bill you to the same card after each journey (no cash given to the driver unless you give a tip)

We have finally arrived in Dubai! However, it will take awhile before I'm able to drive but I have heard that Careem taxis have child car seats? Does anyone use them and if so could you give me some feed back? Thanks! If you book via the app they have an option to select Careem kids which ensures the car comes with one car seat. They always arrive on time so more reliable than using normal taxis although they are slightly more expensive.

I'm impressed that the salon have taken some action as many have signs in reception but don't enforce the rules. It was one of the reasons why I stopped going to Tips and Toes many years ago. It's so unfair to the other paying customers who want to relax.

Does anyone/Has anyone else bought the wicker garden furniture from Ace Hardware? We bought ours about a year ago for our balcony and it has started to disintegrate - has anyone else had this issue? Hey Yorky, do you mind me asking how much - mine is like a black hole! I had a few other jobs done like BBQ cleaning and patio cleaning so I negotiated a discount but my friend only had oven cleaning and they charged 600 dhs. I know it sounds quite expensive but I can honestly say they made an excellent job.

Which is the best slow cooker I can buy here and which shop sell it please? It needs to be a decent size, family of four. Any brands to avoid? Thanks I've also got the large Kenwood slowcooker which would easily cook for a family of four. I always find it very easy to clean but that could depend what you are cooking in it. I noticed Lakeland in MCC had 3 different sizes of slow cookers in stock last week. Really now I'm curious. Just cleaning with dish soap? I do remember all my food stuck to the side walls, like where the top was there was about 3 cm of stuff I had to soak it and then scrape and use a scouring sponge but like you said it might have been the dish or might be I left it on too long! When I use my slow cooker I usually make a large batch of food so once its ready I seperate into individual portions for freezing. I then soak the pot in washing up liquid while it cools down then it just takes a quick wipe with a sponge and its clean. If there isn't enough liquid or its been on too long maybe thats when it sticks?

Does garden waste in black disposal bags get picked up by the garbage collector? I have 2 bags of garden waste next to the bins outside our villa in Arabian Ranches for over a week now and are not collected. Is there someone who i can call? We had the same conversation yesterday. Our garden waste is usually collected within 1 or 2 days but the bags we have out now have been there for at least 1 week. I'm not sure if the garbage collectors usually take it or our gardener arranges but I will need to find out soon. Hi Yorky, If you found out some info, do you mind sharing? Don't want the black trash bags gathering outside the house. Thanks Yes I will make some inquiries this evening if they are still not collected
