I collect for Jebel Ali Cats (Dubai) and Sandy Paws (Abu Dhabi) for our regularly held charity garage sales/flea markets which raise funds to cover vet costs associated with resucing and rehoming abandonned pets/strays. Happy to collect anything anyone has to donate. We just had a clear out and I have three bin bags full of clothes, let me know if your interested.

I have bought North Face items from Sun and Sand Sports in Ibn Battuta but that was a while ago so not sure if they still stock it. I also think I have seen a North Face store in MCC but probably best to check first.

I heard there was some sort of in-salon treatment you could get that would soften your hair,but can't remember the name.it was like keratin but not damaging Maybe Biolustre or Kerastraight? Yes! These are the ones I heard about I heard the biolustre was a waste as it wasnt long lasting. I wondr what the kerastraight i like and if it repairs the hair instead of damaging it I've had both treatments but personally much prefer the results from Kerastraight. It does cost more but it leaves my hair in great condition and lasts much longer than the Biolustre did. If you are looking to send money on this Lind of treatment I would advise you go to a good salon for a consultation first. I've found Ted Morgan at Motor City and Pastels at the Ritz to be good with the Kerastraight products. I also only use the recommended shampoos and once every few weeks use an extra conditioner. Thanks yorky! Will have to save up.how much does it cost? I pay 1500 Dhs for the Kerastraight but it depends on how long your hair is so best to go for a consultation first. Biolustre was probably half that price but as I said I think the results from he Kerastraight are much better.

I think a helicopter had to land on SZR to attend to an accident involving a motorbike. I only caught a few details on the radio but it didn't sound good (at least one fatality)

I use one of the money exchange places in Ibn Battuta Mall. I think the first time I needed my passport plus the full name and address (plus account details) of my bank in the UK. They now have my details on file so I just quote a number and they use the same information each time I go. They charge approx 60 Dhs and then your bank in the Uk will also deduct a fee once the money is received. It usually takes a few working days to transfer.

I used Prime Travel in Arabian Ranches a couple of years ao and they were very helpful. ( not sure if they have any other offices). I would also recommend searching for your own flights and hotels separately as it can work our cheaper, or at least compare that against what a travel agent quotes you. I use Booking.com and Agoda.com for accommodation. You could also try the Etihad travel agent in Marina Mall, or Dnata or Emirates holiday (both have offices on SZR). I think you can also contact any of these with inquiries via their websites.

There are a few in the Family book but this year most only have 1 voucher (Latitude and Beachcombers at JBH, Al Muna at Mina A Salam, Nomad at Jumeirah Creekside, there are probably other too but I dont have the books with me to check) If you have registered your books you should receive the monthly newsletter with extra deals which you can print off. They work the same as the normal vouchers (maximum of 4 vouchers per 8 people) and every month they have included at least one brunch. It might be worth checking so you can use more vouchers. HTH

Yes they are planning to open a Belgium Beer Cafe at the golf club. I'm not sure if it will be a full restaurant menu, maybe more bar snacks so not to be in direct competition with the main restaurant.

The Family Entertainer book would be the best if they want to visit some of the attractions. You can easily save the cost of the book by using just the two vouchers you mentioned. If you order on line you get a 10% discount and free delivery.

I cannot compare to any other golf clubs but when we moved to the Ranches we both took lessons. I was a total beginner and my DH had only played a few times. The instructors were great with the introductory lessons and they offer a wide range of packages for the lessons. When we manage to get home from work at a reasonable hour we like to go to the driving range or par three course and because we live in the ranches it's only a short drive away. I'm not sure if I would practice as much if I had to drive to another course, but that's just because I work full time and would struggle to fit it all into my day. There is no need to become members so I would recommend booking a few lessons and see how you like it.

The golf clubs are usually popular with families as the kids usually have some space to run about outside. I would avoid Emirates golf club though as they are hosting a gala dinner this evening. What about The Academy at the Montgomerie? The OH was there last night (first time in a while) and he said the food was very good. There is also La Veranda at JBH, casual restaurant right next to the beach so they kids can play but it only serves pizza and pasta dishes.

One pointer we picked up was book with air Mauritius instead of EK. It is the same plane(!) but AM significantly cheaper! It is operated by EK. Hope this helps someone save money!! We did exactly the same :)

We stayed at the Shandrani a few years ago which was all inclusive. I think the whole resort is all inclusive so you don't have to wear wrist bands or eat in certain restaurants. The food was good and there were several restaurants (buffet and al a carte) and the drink selection was great.

We went a few years ago and stayed at The Shandrani Resort which was all inclusive (including all drinks). It worked out great value and there were several choices of restaurants so it wasn't a buffet for every meal. If I remember correctly we took USD with us and changed a small amount into local currency for the taxi fare to the hotel and tips. We hired a car through the hotel which we paid for in USD so we only exchanged money if we went on day trips or shopping.

Thanks ladies. I forgot to mention that I am 9 months preggo and could pop anytime. Haha! So drinks wont even be on the list. My mum does not drink and DH will be driving. Maybe we will go to Shimmers. Mum would be very pleased with the view and hoping to get to walk along the beach after dinner. Do we take the Abra to get there? DH is concerned that I wont be able to. Haha! No you don't need to take the Abra. Valet park at Mina A Salam and walk through the lobby to the stairs / elevator to the ground floor. Once you get outside follow the walkway to the beach.

Thanks for the feedback. For some reason, my mum is obsessed with the "7 star hotel" and kept on asking for it. I told her about the tallest building in the world but she couldnt be bothered. haha! she is here on vacation and thought that bringing her there would be nice. It is my birthday today and my mum's on the 20th so having a special dinner once instead. Can we go to shimmers after dinner if we decide to go to the wharf? Yes you can go to Shimmers afterwards, enjoy your evening :) Also Bahri Bar in the Mina A Salam is good for drinks with a great view of the Burj

I imagine there will be lots of events happening in London during the Easter holidays. Maybe check out Time Out London website for some ideas. If you have never been to London before I would recommend the Big Bus Tour. You can purchase tickets online in advance cheaper than buying them on the day. The tickets are for 24 or 48 hours and you can hop on and off as you want which might work well having a toddler with you. I think there is a map on the Big Bus website that also pin points some of the popular attractions. I would also recommend that you get the train from Manchester to London. We did the same journey last summer but from Sheffield and it only cost £21.00 each in first class. It was a simple journey without the stress of driving and finding somewhere to park (never mind the fuel costs!) I booked the tickets in advance and collected them at the train station. (I think I booked via The Train Line?) Hopefuly the weather will improve too!

We usually go to Shimmers for pre dinner drinks or to watch the sunset and then walk back to The Wharf for dinner. I cannot comment on the food at Shimmers but we have had some lovely meals at The Wharf. They usually have daily specials too and the happy hour is great value for drinks. (Vouchers in the Entertainer books too)

We got ours from ACE, it's a plastic one and they have a range of sizes. The store at Festival City usually has the best selection. I cannot imagine a wooden shed lasting very long out here.

Thanks so much Lincolnimp - we are dying to do Maldives - our big fear though is all villas either come with a pool or on stilts which terrifies me with a little one - anyone have an experience with such destinations and little ones? Lots of resorts in the Maldives offer beach villas without private pools.

I haven't done the Fly Dubai flight but did look at it a few months ago and also thought the timings didn't suit the seaplane transfers. We have flown several times with Emirates though and had no stop overs or long waiting times. We usually take the 3am flight out of Dubai so land early and usually only wait 30 minutes for the seaplane. On the return journey we usually leave Male at 10am which is no problem for the seaplane transfer. I would also be interested if anyone has done the Fly Dubai flight with connecting sea plane transfers as the prices are much cheaper than Emirates.

Why don't you go and see your neighbour and explain the problem, apologise and tell her the car will be moved as soon as your husband returns. I asume you dont normally park the car in the same place so hopefully once you have explained it will difuse the situation. Even if vehicles are not restricting access some communities do have rules on where you can park.

I've used Jumeirah Carpentry to make some tables and I was happy with the finished items and the price was okay too. They came out straight away to get all of the details and came back the following day with a price. I dont have the number to hand but if you do a search on here I am sure you will find it.

I have used Churchills and they were great. I also had the same problem as I only had a few rugs that needed cleaning so to make it up to the minimum charge I also had them clean some of the downstairs curtains (mainly the ones which are on the patio doors that we use). They made a great job of removing some of the marks on the curtians so was glad that I had them done.

I haven't seen the Fry Light brand in any of the supermarkets for months. I have now resorted to using some of the other low calories brands but they are aerosol rather than pump spray. If you do find it let me know :)

We had the same problem deciding where to stay, so many recommendations that all sounded great. We are taking a weeks holiday in April and decided to try Thailand for the first time. Due to us only having 1 week we decided to fly to Phuket as you can now get direct flights from Dubai and Abu Dhabi. I had a long list of shortlisted hotels but eventually settled on Indigo Pearl which is only 10 minutes from Phuket airport (again trying to avoid any extra traveling time). All of the reviews for this hotel are great and the hotel has a good selection of bars and restaurants. I am not too sure how adventurous we will be eating outside of the hotel but there are also places to eat just outside the hotel on the beach. From the research I have done there isn't much nightlife near the hotel but that isn't a problem for us as we just want a relaxing break for a week. If we enjoy Phuket we will probably return towards the end of the year and stay at the Dusit which also looks very nice, but again not so good if you want nightlife.

We did it last summer and had no problems at all. The website says you can only book 2 weeks in advance but during busy periods they extend this to 3 weeks. I dont think this information is shown on the website but that was what we were told when we phoned for the appointment. I think our appointment was 9am and the new passort was ready for collection at 2pm.

I have used a couple of vouchers in the past and we were always quoted the best available rate from their website. You will not get any discounted rates when using the voucher but its still good value when you get the second night free. I cant remember if breakfast is included when you use the vouchers but they should confirm at time of booking.

A few days ago I subscribed to a 12 month magazine subscription on my iPad. As soon as I made the purchase I received the order confirmation and then a while later a receipt so I have no doubt that the transaction went through okay, the problem is I cannot find the magazine on my Newsstand or in my apps! Prior to buying the full magazine I did download the free app which just gives a preview of the magazine, I can still see this but it just gives me the option to buy the magazine again. Can any of you ladies help me out and suggest what I need to do? Apologies in advance if I have missed something obvious, I have also emailed the support them but they haven't responded yet.
