The concert is on Yas Island so I would look at one there. I know there is a Rotana, Crowne Plaza, Yas Hotel and probably a lot of others too.

For that budget I would be looking at any of the following places: The Greens (apartments) The Lakes (villas) Arabian Ranches (villas) if you wanted something bigger and don't mind some construction you could try Victory Heights or The Villa if you do a search on here most of these places have been discussed quite a few times but if there is anything specific you want to know just ask :)

It was actually genuine as I found out later (if you want to cancel an account do it yourself (as I normally do), don't rely on your PRO or it will come back and bite you on your rear end many months later grrrr!) It was his attitude. It was as if everything was a big secret and he could only give me a few details. I lost the plot at being told that someone was getting angry with me for daring to ask why it was thought I owed money I called Du customer service centre number who went through everything and confirmed that the debt was correct, which is annoying because I have contacted them about the cancelled account in the past and no mention has been made about an outstanding balance. When I called them, the guy I spoke to was very helpful and very polite - in complete contrast to the power-tripper who called me. if you go to customer services to settle the bill make sure they advise the dates for these outstanding charges. We recently settled and closed an account with Du and they have contacted us twice requesting payment. After further investigation and numerous hours in customer services we have proved the bills were not accurate and we had settled everything when we closed the account.

Once you decide where you want to go try looking at Agoda.com for rates, I found them much cheaper than direct with some hotels. I also asked a local travel agent for the same holiday package and I have managed to save a few extra dirhams too! (didn't expect a travel agent to be cheaper than booking myself)

it's standard procedure to hold your license for some traffic offenses. if you go to the police station on Sunday they will issue the fine (don't know how much), as soon as you pay they will give you the license back. You can check how much fines are on the police website. There is a possibility that you may get some points but again you can check on the website.

Food and service at Toshi is usually very good, not sure if they do a Friday brunch though? The do several theme nights which are good value.

We called for drinks 2 weeks ago and there were only 2 or 3 other people there. it was early (6 o'clock) and the weather wasn't too good so maybe that's why it was so quiet? There is an outdoor area which is okay. We didn't go into the restaurant but looking through the window it looked quite basic. I wouldn't rush back but would love to hear reviews from anyone else, we could have gone on an off day! if you want an outdoor venue for drinks in Tecom I think The Terrace at Media Rotana is much nicer. There are plenty of other nice places on Tecom with vouchers in the entertainer so you could call at The Deck first and see what you think and move on somewhere else if you don't like it.

I was going to book flights separate with Emirates but the travel agents quoted the full package (I selected which flights I wanted), the Hilton looks great but we have decided to try Lily Beach which is all inclusive and it's also got great reviews. I think the price I was quoted was a few hundred Dirhams cheaper than booking myself with Agoda and they offered up to 3% discount if you pay cash.

Do you think its my search criteria? ive put in 2 adults and 2 children? Yes it could be, I was only searching for 2 adults. Try changing the search criteria so you find the hotel and then I think you can send an inquiry to customer services. I've also had some quotes from the travel agents in AR and they have been competitively priced. I think they also offered half board package for this hotel. HTH

Thanks so much for your input Claire, looks like we are going for it! Can you just confirm that they let you have beach villa with two children? Can't wait now, so excited and Agoda.com has the beach villas at half price at the moment! Bump, did you find out anymore Ceese? we also have 2 small people and are looking at Maldives but when i done a search this Iru Fushi hotel didn't come up on agoda.com That's strange, I found the Hilton Iru Fushi on Agoda when I was looking last week

Try Agoda.com for cheap hotel rates. I've just received a quote from DNATA and they are cheaper than me booking everything myself direct. I thought they would be more expensive and I very rarely use a travel agent because of this. I would go to one of the offices and give them your details and let them quote for you, I'm not saying it works out cheaper for all holiday packages but it's worth a try.

I think Howdra supply their own cleaning materials They come with a bucket, a cloth and some spray n wipe. You have to supply vacuum, mop and everything else. okay, probably best to check then. they did supply everything when I used them but that was a few years ago now.

There are definately vouchers in the Body Book (Mina Seyahi and Jebel Ali, plus others that I can't remember right now). I think The Sheraton at JBR is one of the cheapest but I've not been so cannot comment on the facilities. Time Out usually list all the hotels and prices so that might be worth a look.

I think Rock Bottom has opened on Tecom, they might do a Friday brunch or there is the Crown and Lion (sorry not been to either but thought I would suggest them if you want to stay in that area)

You need to print off all the downloads so you can read through them and decide which would suit you best. Green option allows you unlimited potatoes, rice and pasta and the red option allows unlimited meat and fish. The easy extra is a combination of both. Take a look at the list of free foods for all options, these are the foods you can eat in any quantity. You must also make sure you have your a and b choices everyday. If you don't use all your syns each day you can save them up and use at the end of the week (usually a good idea if you fancy a night out and a few drinks!). Let me know if you have any other questions, I've done the diet before and it's quite easy to follow once you understand the basics. I'm signing up on-line again tomorrow.

Food at Verre and Rhodes Mezzanine is outstanding but I would say service and those little extra touches are better at Rhodes Mezzanine. Don't think you would be disappointed with either choice :) I've not been to Ruth's Chris so can't comment on that one
