My nephew (10 years old) is having a lot of trouble at school and it's driving my sister crazy! He won't concentrate in class or ever finish his work. Is there any tutor (academic counselor) in Dubai who could help him become a better student? As in not only teach him what he needs for the lesson but actually help improve his willingness to learn overall. I know it's hard to find someone that could do all that, but if you know of any tutor or institute that deals with children with learning difficulties please let me know! What learning disability has he been diagnosed with?

Indeed RIP When Great Trees Fall Maya Angelou When great trees fall, rocks on distant hills shudder, lions hunker down in tall grasses, and even elephants lumber after safety. When great trees fall in forests, small things recoil into silence, their senses eroded beyond fear. When great souls die, the air around us becomes light, rare, sterile. We breathe, briefly. Our eyes, briefly, see with a hurtful clarity. Our memory, suddenly sharpened, examines, gnaws on kind words unsaid, promised walks never taken. Great souls die and our reality, bound to them, takes leave of us. Our souls, dependent upon their nurture, now shrink, wizened. Our minds, formed and informed by their radiance, fall away. We are not so much maddened as reduced to the unutterable ignorance of dark, cold caves. And when great souls die, after a period peace blooms, slowly and always irregularly. Spaces fill with a kind of soothing electric vibration. Our senses, restored, never to be the same, whisper to us. They existed. They existed. We can be. Be and be better. For they existed.

I've had that happen to me, but it taught me a valuable lesson too that whatever I put out thr or whoever I'm with while sharing little snippets of my life, what ever gossip I participate in, at the end it's all fair game, I can ask people to respect my privacy but I can not reinforce it, law or not.

I didn't find anything wrong with the vet, not that diff than the vets I had for my dogs in Canada. He was professional, handled them gently, got straight to the matter at hand , a solid pragmatic approach, a thorough checkup, I honestly wasn't looking for much more. She has no infection or fever, appetite is fine, the blood was bright red SueB, it has stopped but he told me to keep an eye on it and to introduce one packet of soft food a day along with thr dry.

Two questions about 2 month old kittens, how do I keep them away from my indoor plants ( actually its only one potted plant its too big to raise it off the ground and putting outside is not an option) and how do I keep them off the dinning table, as a rule I would like for them to learn not to climb on the dinning and kitchen table. TIA

Zinger just to re-iterate TB's point, pls don't wait too long to see someone, I am under the care of Dr Houriya she is indeed excellent, but if she's booked up do just go to the Well Woman Clinic you will be in very safe hands. Thank you Scribs, I saw Dr Houriya back in 2008, she is a brilliant woman and Dr, you are in very good hands.

Advice based on your thoughts - do not adopt! She's genuinely trying to seek advice why do you have to be so harsh.. Zinger i wish you the best in your research and hope you find what you are looking for.. Thank you Singarosa, don't worry about that comment clearly those were my thoughts and we have one very clever mind reader.

Human chorionic gonadotropin or hCG hormone rises rapidly during early pregnancy. No one knows how this contributes to nausea, but it's a prime suspect because the timing is right: Nausea tends to peak around the same time as levels of hCG. Women have higher levels of hCG, when carrying multiples, same with the sense of smell. Have you tried taking ginger it worked like a dream for me. Congrats to all the mamas2B

If you have never owned a cat before, you must undertake some research before adopting - it's a lifetime commitment. The first question you have to ask yourself is if I move to another country will I take them with me no matter what the cost? If the answer is no, then don't adopt. This gives good advice: http://www.petfinder.com/pet-adoption/cat-adoption/cat-adoption-first-30-days/ Vaccinating your cats are to keep them safe from harm - not you! They need PCH which consists of two separate vaccines given 3 weeks apart and a vaccine against rabies. These are annual vaccinations. There's also a treatment for fleas and ticks that you can give them (Frontline) and worming tablets approx. every three months. Providing they use a litter tray and you clean it regularly (you have to scoop their pee and poop out daily), there should be no smell! You can buy corrugated cardboard scratching trays or scratching posts which have sisal rope wrapped around them which should deter them from scratching on furniture etc. There are loads of websites which give advice on cat ownership. If you're prepared to put in the time (for example they need their claws cut, ears checked, groomed if longer haired, played with etc) and money, owning a cat is great fun. I grew up with a dog and never interacted with a cat until I met DH who is cat-mad. Now, I can't imagine not having a cat in the house which is just as well - we're moving to Australia next month and shipping our five cats with us! They're family! Happy Googling and good luck x Brilliant thank you, moving wont be a problem we are here indefinitely, I've have lap dogs most of my life but I'm very excited about these kittens. My kids are uber responsible ( they have been great with our turtles and fish) and I can count on them to help out. Will google away :-) Oh any thoughts on neutering/spaying

My son needed a Drs cert for school and we were charged AED 100 the clinic said that drs can no longer write a note on their script pad or letter head and give it to you. They said they have to apply online through DHA website, they get charged so we get charged. It took about 30mins for them to apply then print out and stamp the note. Humm I would have a chat with your clinic, it's 60 not 100 Dubai: Sick leave certificates in Dubai have to be issued electronically with effect from May 1 by a healthcare facility with the patient bearing the Dh60 cost, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has announced.

I posted this in the food forum a few months ago but never got any hits....hoping someone can help me out. Where's the best place (and price) to get maple syrup? And I'm talking about the real Canadian stuff, none of that "maple flavored" junk, lol. My Spinneys only has one brand/size and its ridiculously overpriced. I know I'll be paying at least double than what I'm used to back home, but would like a little more of a selection. Same with us I haven't been able to find anything cost effective here, my options have been to either pay out the crazy price for a small bottle ( in our house with kids its gone in less than a week) or go for the honey or molasses.... Not the same

While I think it is a lovely idea, I have to agree with Izzy. There are plenty of people here (some quite famous) who promote themselves as charity entrepreneurs / philanthropists / do gooders etc. However, NONE of them is operating legally and when you donate your items, you don't know where it's going. Which is fine if it is just a private exchange, [b'>but when you're posting on a website, things have to be legal. [/b'> I have a few contacts who I know send things to the Philippines and so on, but I don't think EW can be seen to be promoting illegal activities, especially when some of them are profitable organisations (yes, that's correct - they charge "fees" to use them or their services, they are registered businesses and money changes hands). If you feel like being charitable, there are plenty of things you can do yourself. I used to cook for labourers with my friends, you can pass on toys and clothes to some of the legal organisations, and you can take a cat off the streets. Sorry but some of these "charitable" people are really not as legit, caring and charitable as they make out. In fact, they make a living / profit off other people donating their time, money and items so they can carry on with their efforts and take all the credit. what about all the posts offering/asking for illegal maids ? LOL
