And just for those who don't know how to drive in the rain, don't drive with your hazards on, do drive with your lights on and don't get up the backside of the car in front of you! There are some big puddles out there causing all sorts of problems, drive with extra caution! And don't splash water on others :-)

Hi, I am looking to get a website set up but I have a very limited budget, can anyone recommend anyone? The website needs to also have a shop to sell about 300 different products categorised under about 5 headings. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm looking for white/cream furniture such as a TV stand and side tables. Has anyone been in the furniture stores recently and seen some?? I did see some in IKEA which is okay but would prefer not to buy from there. Thanks You can definitely get nice looking white furniture from pan emirates and home centre. But is there any particular reason you are avoiding buying from ikea?

I do hate the rain, this I must confess, The dust in the air, rain makes such a mess. If I watch from indoors then I guess that's just fine But caught out in the rain, it just makes me whine I so hate the feel of my clothes when they're wet, I really don't like it, it just makes me fret. The rain is bringing out the hidden poet in everybody :-)

WHy don't these LL's understand that the Expo is SEVEN years away? There's no excuse to bump up costs NOW. It's pure greed and nothing more. Now you are talking about logic in Dubai. I just want to know what the rent might be in 2020. Ha ha. I don't know what the rent might be in 2020. But definitely it isn't going to be any lower than what it is now.

She's home! The driver down the road managed to catch her. She's a bit thinner but otherwise seems fine. I thought we'd never see her again, so I guess the moral is "always keep hoping". Wow.. That's good news! But there is another moral. "Keep the cage door locked" :-)

Many villas are empty. But the LL's don't mind keeping them vacant and the real estate agents motivate them to wait longer to get a "better" deal. Ultimately someone will rent it for the higher price one day and that is the truth.

I was really happy about Dubai winning the Expo until just now - i just spoke to a guy on my way to work who lives in a labour camp in Al Quoz. His landlord came in this morning and said room rent has gone up (as of next month) from AED2,100 per month to AED 3,000. Crazy! We will hear many more stories like this in the near future.

We haven't' found our rabbit. Hate to think of what might have happened to her. To get out of our garden she would have had to squeeze under the gate and I don't know why she'd have done that when she used to hesitate about stepping out of her cage. There aren't any stray dogs around but I wonder if cats would have attacked her? When I'm peeling a carrot or cutting up an apple or cucumber I think of her as she so enjoyed a piece. Poor girl, I hope she's hanging out in someone's garden:-( edited by A Rancher on 29/11/2013 We understand how much you would miss your rabbit. Don't worry. He cannot put your rent up unless the rent calculator says he can. Also the fact that his friend wants to move in won't hold any weight, it has to be himself or immediate family members. That's true. But where can we apply logic in Dubai?

suggest you take a 2nd opinion. Orthodontist consultations are free everywhere. Nicolas & Asp teaching college advised 4 teeth removal for my 14yo son. Dr Nazeer at Joy Clinic said that removals were not necessary. Although we are having our daughter treated at N&A, for our son we will go with Dr Nazeer. Well said, Dr. Nazeer was my Orthodontist too. He is one of the best and highly recommended orthodontists here in Dubai. His website is http://drnazeer.com

Thank you so much for your timely reply sarah. I have decided to go with Dr.Nazeer Ahmed Meeran as the cost review for Dr.Michaels and versaillesdentalclinic seems to be much higher. Will visit him this weekend and post the exact cost for invisible braces and treatment duration. Very good decision :-) Dr. Nazeer was also my Orthodontist and he is very good in his work and has an excellent reputation in Dubai.

I will not recommend the ford edge. The Tiguan is a good option. However, I feel you have narrowed your choices too much. Also have a look at the honda pilot. It is good value for money and also comes with a 3-5 year dealer warranty.

The rents are going to unrealistic levels and that is the truth. There are so many new units available in many areas which are vacant as people don't feel they are worth the price they are quoted by the agents. However, on the other side there are people who are willing to pay any price for certain areas like Downtown, and as long as they are ready to pay the high rents, other landlords feel that is the normal going rates and they refuse to even consider a discount of even 10K. We just have to sit and watch the situation. Maybe the rents will come down if the property remains vacant for a long time, but until then, the rents will hover around the unrealistic ongoing rates.
